Vaults and generation ships are very similar, one crosses space the other time., the descendants then emerge at desired destination. It could also be possible that the crew are descendants of the original crew and the colonists are in cryo, or perhaps are actually frozen fertilised ova.
This kinda reminds me of a old comic that I read. The original version of the Guardians of the Galaxy was created during the late 60's. The main character was a astronaut named Vance Astro. Vance was put into hibernation and his space ship was aimed at the Alpha Centauri system. His ship flew just under the speed of light. When Vance finally got to Alpha Centauri people were already there. Humanity had developed faster than light travel while he was sleeping. Instead of becoming first human to walk on Alpha Centauri he became a celebrity.
Theories have been around for quite a while that is we got to a point to send out multi generational ship at sub light speeds to the nearest habitable planet that before they arrived those left on earth would likely invent faster than light travel and beat the first ship to the destination. This was actually shown in the outriders game.
3:18 Looking at the weapon on right, it seems to be a 1911 and the weapons on left are some old pump action shotgun, notice its an outdated "earth" weapon in the starfield universe.
I doubt there is any more connection between Fallout and Starfield than there is between Fallout and Elder Scrolls. But there are, as pointed out by others, a similarity between generational ships and the vaults of fallout that is impossible to ignore.
I think this was certainly the logical leap to make, there's a lot in Fallout to suggest this goal. Although I too suspect they wont officially link the universes, I actually kinda hope they do in some more concrete ways. Also I hope we see a Dwemer space ship, I don't care if it's just an easter egg, I want it.
I think we are going to see some of the tech and ideas that were inferred in Fallout at the very least. Like for example, the learnings and data from Vaults applied to a self-sustaining colony ship. Either way I'm really looking forward to learning more about it!
Isn't there a theory to suggest Fallout and Elder Scrolls is in the same universe. Where Fallout came after Elder Scrolls and now Starfield. There is another theory I think about that Elder Scrolls is after Fallout, which means Starfield in my opinion cannot take place.
Omg, I literally thought this when I was watching the showcase live. When I saw it pop up, my thought was "oh that's neat, they designed it to look like a vaulttec vault, that's a nice reference" just like the callback ti the adoring fan. I'm hoping one of the planets will have skyrim references
@@UraniumFever76 if there is a nirn root in starfield, that will mean that nirn roots exist in every Bethesda universe, making the nirn root a nexus being.
The crew on that colony ship looks quite small. It would be hard to imagine if they are descendants of the people to board said colony ship. Maybe they have been in some kind of suspended animation. Or, if interstellar travel was invented at the time humanity left Earth, maybe after their jump they have somehow ended up in 2330?
i think seeing a zetan ship would be a fun easter egg/ random encounter. maybe it warps away soon after being spotted or maybe you can fight it but only to the death.
for the two shots of the person in the "egyptian outfit" and the one that looks like an overseer. I believe the first to be a prophet or high ranking official of that serpent cult faction we saw and the 2nd is probbably the head of the "Terran preservation society" we say immedietely before that shot.
Interesting! I didn't make that connection with the Serpent Cult faction! They are really interesting, working on a faction lore video at the moment. Great shout with the Terran Preservation society as well! Probably makes more sense to be honest!
@@UraniumFever76 Yea, I've rewatched the direct through different reactioms and deep dives probbably over 30 times now. There were so many small details packed into the deep dive that make it so fun to sit and watch it frame by frame.
Bear in mind a ship traveling at high speed without folding space will have time pass more slowly for the people on it. So who knows how much time has passed for them versus everyone else with folding drives and on planets with normal orbits.
I think a prudent question is just how far did any nation get before the bombs launched. If a war was fought on the moon of any length of time over any number of assets would suggest a decent human presence, at least in the earth sphere. With nuclear cars only needing coolant every undisclosed interval how far has high isp nuclear rockets gone? I mean codsworth has been hovering at 1g for 200 years now. Prewar US could have easily dispatched any number of colony ships.
@@badunclebobblehead There's already a confirmed Oblivion reference, and even the Nirnroot-type plants are a nod to Skyrim/Oblivian/etc... It's possible that it's ONLY Tamriel, but there is an Earth, so you never know.
Occasionally someone poses a question that seems simple on the surface, but it gets into the head of an overthinker, like myself, where it bounces around loudly like a pair of wet shoes in the dryer. I seem to remember Tim talking about his vision of vaults being a study on how to send long term expeditions into space. It could be a nod to him.
He just did a video on this topic in the last few weeks, so yes, it's plausible, at least in his idea of Vaults.

Yeah 100% think it's based on Star Trek. They look cool I think!

I did wonder about cryo. That would be a really interesting feature, and to be honest judging by the other tech we've seen, would make sense I think.

Starfield is a spoiler to the ending of the fallout franchise
I'd say more: technically player's ship is a personal vault from Fallout 76! 😉
Guaranteed this will be a series of lost vault generational ships. You'll have to go out and track them down. That'll be spooky dudes.
Interesting theory. It kind of connect Starfield with Fallout and Skyrim.
The Enclave lives, i can almost grantee theres gonna be an Enclave Easter Egg
