isnt it better for a phone to be light and not heavy, cuz i think lighter objects feel more premium, e.g. citizen watches, parker pens uk

"Pixels will get slower"
My Pixel 2 XL still going strong Android 11 💪🏼
Yeah do I iphone 12 vs pixel 5 vs S20FE can't wait 😀
Hey Max, may you please tell me what is the song for the speaker test
Just bought a s20 fe for $350 at best buy.
Bruh how?
that speaker comparison is brutal lmao
It was ridiculous
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great video! 👍I however still prefer the Pixel 5 since I prefer stock android with regular updates. I also prefer the smaller size of the Pixel as well. I first ordered the s20 FE which I now replaced with the Pixel instead and I'm pleased with my choice although I probably wouldn't recommend anyone else this switch considering the much stronger specs the s20 FE offers. My choice of phone is based on my own personal preferences which I'm pretty sure isn't shared by the majority of consumers.
I'm in a similar position and I'm not enjoying my FE 4G. I wish I got the Pixel 5 instead and I'm going to get it as soon as it's a lot cheaper. Are you still using the Pixel 5? And is it holding up okay?
S20 FE is the sleeper hit phone of the year period!!!!💯
I'm watching on an S20 fe 5g and here's a few things I have to say.
1. The display doesn't really matter if u don't care that much. The s20 fe display is already awesome. Unless u really want a top of the line screen, just get this. It still has little to no lag.
2. I can't tell what they cut out from the s20 here. The 30x zoom is fantastic if u use it to find little things in a big crowd. And the camera software records with SUPER STEADY, which lives up to its name. And there's also hdrmax or whatever u call it, which is still in development t for the entire market, which means this phones video recording with super steady is FUTURE PROOF.
This phone has wireless charging and power share.
It also has the tiny front facing camera up there and I barely notice it.
It has the very nice DPUBLE CKICK POWER BUTTON TO OPEN CAMERA FAST. Its so useful you won't believe it.
The processor is same as s20 but ram storage is better on the regular s20.
Its worth buying this instead of s20 regular if u don't even use every single feature.
Hope you find this helpful.
Have a nice day!
How many hours of sot do you get?
@@andyH_England You can only get exynos here in Australia, so the s20fe 5g is a better choice for us than the regular s20.
@@David-nz8rf I have S20 FE 5G and I am getting 7-8 hours SOT constantly. Very good battery life compared to my older phone (Pixel 4XL) which had 4-5 SOT on average. Keep in mind that I don't play game on my phone. I just watch a lot of UA-cam and web browsing.
cHaN E do you ise 120 hz when getting 8hrs sot?
@@bigtoti3091 Nope, I get 8 hours SOT when I turn on battery saving mode, which turns off 120hz refresh rate. But I barely use battery saving mode, and I still get around 7 hrs SOT which is enough for the whole day.
Next year I would like a Pixel 6 with the same design, but with a decent processor, better speaker, and a third camera.
Agree with u
Fr , if they can get a 865 snapdragon in the pixel 6, it would be more worth 700$

Google: remove useless features, add good features (idk telephoto seems better than ultra wide but ok) and drops price
Omg so overpriced
@@dh4444 yes, why is that confusing?
@@dh4444 you would say telephoto is better because you've never used ultrawide.
Good review dude 👍🏼
Great video, as always!
Pixel 5 is overpriced junk compared to the S20 FE.
better cameras and software though
it is slightly overpriced but if you want a smaller phone and better pictures or cleaner software or even pixel features maybe you should wait when it is discounted
@@wh8246 S20 FE was just on sale on Amazon Prime for $599 brand new. If you want better pics, install Gcam on the S20 and you'll get Google pics. For a smaller phone, get the regular S20 for $700.
@@ssaini5028 Not at all. OneUI is great and you can install a 3rd party launcher for a stock Android experience and Gcam to get Google's image processing.
@@nickmotsarsky4382 it still $699 on amazon
I would go for the S20 FE but it's an automatic no go since it's so big.
Sadly, when you want a compact phone, your selection becomes very limited.
Yeah, thats why i went for the base model s21 still pretty compact especially in hand.
Jeah, i have the same problem
S20 FE 🔥
Love the glitch background you use.
Would love a comparison video (especially camera) between the pixel 5, oneplus 8t and the samsung s20 fe.
Also a camera review for oneplus 8t and s20 fe stock and gcam photo results
Okay not gonna lie you guys do some amazing comparisons :3
It's a really nice video which helps me a lot. Thanks for sharing all the information and the english subtitle!!
The main advantage of Pixel is the compact size.
Nice work!

Amazing review!!
Both phones look amazing!
If I had to choose I'd choose the Samsung. Even though the small size of the Pixel is something good
Good video man I'm watching this on a FE it's a great phone. I can see myself buying the next pixel next year
I think the biggest problem of the FE is that it is too big for me. I would love the FE with the pixel's size, it would be the perfect phone.
Also the lack of jack port is annoying but I guess I'll get used to it ^^
Just tried the 3DMARK WildLife benchmark on my iPhone 8. 3298 points at 19fps average. Not bad for being 3 years old!
What people dont get is Pixel is actually trying to give you the best of google. Specs are not always everything. Also the dev community for pixel is huge, while samsung releasea tons of phones each year. And the updates, you get the best and latest of android. And lets not even talk about the bloatware in Samsung.
The only thing pixel had me scratching my head is that freaking Processor. Wth were they thinking. A processor which will be obsolete in three years
Yeah I went with the S20 FE. Like the other guy said if the Pixel 5 had a SD865 and better speakers for $700 I would've bought it
this is a good and honest review. watching all the way from Malaysia.. and angelica is cute haha cheers
Why is nobody talking about the touch issues with the FE? I'm going to buy the phone and this will be a huge deal for me!
Because it's a Samsung. Any issues and problems automatically get swept under the rug. My S20 FE had an issue with the display as well as one of the speakers sounding distorted. I returned mine and got the Pixel 5.
@@DeadofWinter321 hows the pixel 5
@@itsDjjayy I love it. Haven't had any trouble out of it. The camera produces better photos and videos than my S20 FE did.
@Benjamin Owuye Jagun The only area where it excelled in over the Pixel was the display, but that's where it ended. The video stabilization is a lot more smooth on the Pixel and the audio quality when shooting videos sounds more clear than the FE. Also there's too many quality control issues with the FE, mine had the infamous touchscreen issues that most users are experiencing. Mine also had a blown out earpiece speaker right out of the box (purchased brand new from my carrier). So I returned it and went back to Google. I give Samsung all these chances and their phones are just poor quality.
@Benjamin Owuye Jagun That's literally the only advantage the S20 FE has over the Pixel 5. I'd much prefer having a wide angle camera (and the majority of consumers do too because they bitched about the Pixel 4 not having a wide angle lens) over a telephoto. Video stabilization and audio quality is very poor on the FE while the P5 is smooth as butter and you can hear everything crystal clear. Photos from the Pixel also provide better detail and less blown out, saturation.
Have you had any problems with the FE screen or the proximity sensor? I have had 2 samsung's and I had the same problem with booth of them
Is the lack of autofocus on the s20 FE front facing camera a big deal?
The FE is 599 rn! S21 is 799. Pixel looks charming, but I'm gonna get the more powerful FE for cheaper. I just wish the FE was small like the Pixel
Samsung is the clear winner here
Superb comparison!
I was really rooting for the pixel, but I think that the s20 FE is the way to go.
How is your experience?
You *really* need to love stock android to get a Pixel in 2020. Since all $700+ phones have better performance and similar or even better camera quality
I'd choose stock Android over an immensely bloated Android experience
And the Pixel 4a/5 have surpassed even the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in the camera department.
@@DeadofWinter321 No they don’t lmfao. The sensors in the Note 20 Ultra are so much better than the Pixel 5. It’s amazing what Pixel 5 can do with its shitty 3 year old camera but software only takes you so far. The Note 20 Ultra will do better in low light, long zoom, ultra wide shots, portraits of inanimate objects, and video. The only time the Pixel will ever even compete is regular shots and portraits of people in decent lighting. It’s just not a contest otherwise
@@bgubs07 You can get close with OnePlus but you sacrifice on cameras there. I really hope Google steps it up next year for this price point
@@HellNaw98 I've been saying for years that hardware can only do so much with the camera and it shows on every other smartphone that's not a Pixel. You have ALL these megapixels and yet the Pixel still surpasses all of the Galaxy phones and iPhones. Which is pretty sad imo.
Do you have a link to where the Pixel 5 is $100 less outside of the US?
I had the Pixel 5 for a few weeks. It had the screen gap issue so I returned it and got the FE instead. I don't have 5G but I can say that 4G speeds were noticably lower compared to my old Nokia 8 with a Snapdragon 835. 4G is quite fast where I am so it wasn't really noticable outside of speed tests and I would have probably been able to live with it no problem. However, the FE does not have such an issue. 4G speeds are really fast. Better than my old phone I think.
I am so late but can I still get a heart? :D
Thank yo for the heart I LOVE your vids and keeps me entertained. Keep up the great work!!!
Longevity wise, I think S20 FE will win because of the 865 processor.
There so many feedback against battery in actual use of s20 fe and touch bugs and other issues. Im becoming skeptical about s20 but specs are good. Pixel though having inferior chipset is performing good.
The s20 fe has a fast face unlock though so that's great
It is really hard to argue for the Pixel 5 here. I really wanted to love the Pixel 5 this year and was excited with the scaled back direction (in theory), but I think they really missed the mark with their pricing relative to other phones on the market. I do love stock Android and some of the Google features, but I think I would go FE. Or, perhaps the Pixel 4a 5g. That seems like a better price point for the features.
What about vibration and haptic motors?
I'm concerned about the Pixel 5 speakers. I'd have to listen to them in person to determine whether or not they are a deal-breaker. I'm considering giving Samsung another shake, but I've got questions.
How much better is Gorilla Glass 6 on the Pixel 5 vs Gorilla Glass 3 on the FE in drop performance? Is Samsung's One UI better than the Touchwiz jank from the past? Is Samsung still pushing ads to the notification tray? Is Samsung still pushing intrusive ads to the notification tray, phone app, weather app, pay app, etc? I know they've done that in their $2,000 phones. Can you uninstall those extra apps? Also, how long is the wait for new Android firmware updates?
Also for download speed tests: Download the same large file on both devices . That way we can see real-world results, not from some speed test app.
I really like your honesty and I think your reviews are spot on.
The Pixel 5 is good but overpriced, however where I live, -in France-, the Pixel 5 is 629€ and the SE is 699€. also you get a Bose QC35ii if you pre-ordred the Pixel 5.
If you compare it to the Pixel 4A 5G which costs 499€ the Pixel 5 is actually pretty good value.
Non, le SE en 4G est à 659€ et celui le 5G est à 759€. Il y a la remise de 100€ chez fnac avec le retrait en magasin
Bruh, even pixel 3xl not that bad compared to pixel 5, better wait for pixel 6a
Samsung wins this time

Love your non iPhone phone vids 😂👍
Samsung FE hands down better package almost in every sense of it. Even for a layman and for the looks of it, a larger display summarises it all.
Does Pixel have the software advantage, or you can just ignore the Samsung apps if you don't mostly stock android experience?
I go a S20FE from pre-order and as of right now it is pending a return. The multi-touch issues with the display are horrible. There are two updates Samsung has put out just to address this, but neither have hit the US yet so if they don't arrive and actually fix the issues before the return is due in the mail then I'll send it on back. Great phone otherwise, but touching the display is how you use a phone so ...
i HAVE THE SAME ISSUE IWTH SAMSUNG A50.
Pixel 5 Needed to launch at 550 to 600 dollar price tag.
Ouch, my three year old iPhone 8 Plus gets 3629 in the Wild Life benchmark.
The pixel is the phone i want, but the s20 fe is the one i should get
I returned the S20 FE I had for the Pixel 5 and haven't looked back. The Pixel is just too good to have any regrets on getting rid of the FE. Battery life is better on the Pixel which is a big thing for me and also the bezels on the FE are THICC af compared to the Pixel! Camera is significantly worse on the Galaxy (the Pixel 5 matched my old Pixel 4 XL in the majority of scenarios). My FE had an issue with the display as well as one of the speakers (bottom firing one) sounding distorted when watching videos, listening to music, etc. I just went ahead and sent that shit packing! Samsung quality... 🤦🏼♂️
@Zoys And Samsung makes the most of those apparently. My S7 Edge had to be replaced twice for dead pixels showing up on the display. My S8 started slowing down (after just 4 months of usage) to the point where it got so annoying, I paid it off and went to Google. Also tried various other Galaxy phones throughout the years to see if they've improved themselves or not, S9+, Note 9, Note 10+ and S20 FE. All had a problem (or more than just one problem) and Samsung treats it like these problems don't exist. 🙄
I went with the FE. I wish there was a way to force 120hz at all times like Google allows in dev options for 90hz cause when the adaptive refresh drops back to 60hz from time to time, it really takes me out of tumhe experience
Set up bixby routines on the phones. Bixby will change the 120hz for you depending on time of day or battery usage.
Unfortunately Samsung camera quality has catch up with Google
FE has micro SD card extension, it is a key feature for me. Regarding sound, all phones sound terrible for me, so it is important how good you can hear a voice of your caller, but you didn't test that. Regarding refresh, there is no difference for me. Pixel is certainly a winner for a picture quality.
This guy seems to have glossed over or not even mentioned a few things, the s20fe is a super cheap display that can't handle mulit touch, using gorilla glass 3, the cheaper version of the s20fe is exynos, the fingerprint sensor is optical and not secure, the 6gb ram actually hinders the performance of you check out other reviewers speed tests against the pixel, the duplicated apps and bloatware and there is even ADS built into th UI, and Samsung while advertising 3 years of updates they actually release the phone on android 10 which is a year behind the pixel to start with. The 20fe is designed from the ground up to not be quite as good as the regular S20
Good Video - All True but this is Basically a Hardware Comparison - Never Mentioned the Software Experience - Samsung is & Always Will be Miles Ahead in Hardware but that's not Always the Whole Story.
i was thinking of buying the 8gb ram with 256gb of storage FE for an extra $100.00 to future proof it for the 3 yrs. is it true that more ram uses more battery and should i get the the one with 8 gig. every year i think of getting a pixel and every year it disappoints. why could they not keep the telephoto lens as well i prefer that .
So, unless you feel you really “need” 5G right now, why not get a 128 GB storage Pixel 4XL and save some $ ?
It has 6 GB of RAM (same as the standard Galaxy S20 FE), which is more than enough to run Android smoothly for the foreseeable future, a SD 855 SoC (~40% more powerful than the Pxl 5’s SD 765G), it’s OTG-compatible (as all Pixels are, TBF), it has fast & secure facial recognition AND that Tele lens/sensor you prefer.
Also, its speakers are as good or better than the FE’s, and certainly blow the Pxl 5’s away. Just a thought and my $0.02; in fact, I’m contemplating the same move, since I’m a current Pixel user who’s disappointed with Google’s phone offerings this year.
FYI/FWIW: I played extensively with a demo S20 FE and while it seemed very nice and I would consider returning to Samsung, a number of real-world users are reporting touchscreen issues (sadly) ! 😱😩
@@Sharky165 if you can still get it. Still around $1000. Here for the ⑥④ gig. ⑥0 htz usf ②.① thanks though
Great comparison as always Max. Before the iPhone 12 was announced last week. I just bought the s20 FE from Best Buy. I was going to replace my 1.5 yr old LG G7 that is on its last legs (wonky usb c port and degraded battery life that had to turn down res to 1080p from 1440p)
It was only 600 when I bought the FE and only phone that had a microsd card slot. So it was an instant switch.
HOWEVER, I couldn’t even get my phone setup due to the recent touchscreen issues that had sprouted up recently. I was hoping mine wasn’t part of this problem but low and behold it was. I was devastated and returned that POS within the hour I got it. I hope Samsung addresses this but as of now I lost faith in them for the time being.
Also while reflecting on my next phone since the FE was a definite bust, I realized I wondered a smaller phone since even my G7 6.1 inch screen was slight too big for me (I’ve US XL glove sized hands). As much as I enjoy a big screen, it was awkward using it 1 handed.
So I’m happy waiting to pre order an iPhone mini and return to the ecosystem once again (left after iPhone 3GS)
When doing photo comparisons, please tell which white balance is closer to reality. Else, the viewer won't really be able to tell "which was the best photo".
what about the screen touch issues in. s20 fe? why don't reviewers talk about real issues
Some Pixels have a screen and body gap issue.
Wide portraits just make people look tiny. I prefer when they use a zoom lens. Professional portraits use zoom lens :)
Professional portraits?

@@RennieAsh

That's why I'm wondering what you mean by "professional portraits use zoom lens"
The last thing you want to do when taking a "professional portrait" of someone is slap on a zoom lens.
It's a zoom lens
It's just bad pricing on the pixel 5.
Well according to my opinion the Google pixel 5 is unbeatable price and unbelievable performance so finally I go with Google pixel 5 or Google pixel4a😷👍👍👍
Big time Pixel fan here, but this year I had to try something different. Coming from the Pixel 3XL I just didn't like what Google was doing with the 5. I the SOC update would have been minimal from a CPU standpoint, and the GPU would have been a big downgrade. Additionally the camera hardware was mostly the same which would not have improved the photo quality much. So I kept the Pixel 3 and bought the Samsung S20 FE. I haven't been on a Samsung product since the S7 and I have to admit the improvement in the One UI is massive. I'm really enjoying the device and actually prefer the camera at times, not always, but the differences are not noticeable mostly. The great thing about the Samsung is how much freedom you have to adjust the shot with settings. I can't go back to 60hz either, the 120hz screen is a game changer.
Good and helpful comment. 👍🏻
I’ve been using the OG Pixel XL for 2 years and want to upgrade, but like you, am disappointed with the Pxl 5, so I’m debating between the S20 FE and a minty condition Pixel 4XL (5G isn’t really built out much in my area as yet, so that’s the least of my concerns, but I do value flagship performance at a reasonable price).
A couple of questions, if you don’t mind:
* How is FE battery life, vs your Pxl 3XL, and vs your expectations (SoT, if possible) ?
* Are you having any touchscreen issues ? Sadly, a number of FE users are...
I can’t stand the term “feels more premium...”
So overused.

I had the FE for a week before returning it. It was a great phone but the touch screen was hypersensitive and it was clicking on things when I just wanted to scroll. No matter how good the specs are, that was a deal breaker. Look it up. It’s a real problem. Samsung has not found a fix for it yet as it could be hardware related. For me, because of that, I’d go with the pixel 5.
I have the same issue with Samsung A50.
So torn, get a 20 fe now or wait a month for the new samsung phones
So sad for Google. Another strike out.
We demand both ultra wide and telephoto camera & atleast Snapdragon 865 in pixel 6.
Samsung needs to come out with a mini. Soon as they made the s10e I bought it. The regular s10 was too big.
Hmm as a telecommunication engineer, its funny how people test their 5g phone performance. Its totally different in every place, as 4g. It based on that area sites capacity and coverage covered. In high residences area, mostly will experience slower internet compared to less residences as congested likely to occur. However, less residence likely to have coverage issue, which also will affect the performance. Its always like that. And mostly, the telco companies are capping their subscriber speed to curtain max speed in order to ensure network traffic not congested. ALL THE MARKETING ONLY TELL ABOUT THE MAX SPEED WHILE IN REAL PRACTICAL, YOU GUYS WILL NEVER REACH IT unless you're working with telco companies, as normally, the employees will provided with free sim and unlimited internet with no capping at all (max speed).
I love the FE
If S20 FE is doing this, then what S21 FE will do?
Whats stock android?
I wish Google would just stop and Samsung ran stock Android with the pixel perks.
Based on Geekbench results, my iPhone 8 from three years ago has faster performance than the Pixel 5. The iPhone 12’s single core performance is equivalent to the multi core performance of the Pixel 5. I get that the Pixel 5 still feels smooth despite the lackluster SoC, but I doubt the Pixel 5 will stay smooth a year from now.
I have seen reviews between the pixel 5 vs the iphone 12 and the pixel 5 wins
Philip Marlowe when it comes to the overall verdict, some reviews would say the Pixel 5 is the better phone compared to the iPhone 12, which is a reasonable verdict. The Pixel 5 is $100 cheaper than the iPhone 12 and you get a better display, arguably a better camera for photos, and better software for those who prefer Android. All I’m saying is that the iPhone 12 has the much faster SoC and will stay fast for much longer than Pixel 5 and that statement is not debatable.
Man I wish Samsung gave a 90Hz option with a software update on the S20/Note 20 line
Yes! 90 hz with full resolution screen.
@@MaxTechOfficial this would be so nice, if only Samsung listened and tried at least that out
There is an app for that. You even do not have to root the device.
I’m still getting the pixel 5 because of the software.
Thought also to get pixel 5 or the s20 fe. Eventually bought the s20 fe and they give you the buds live headphones together as a package , even more better.
I really like the galaxy phone, the only complaint I have is I would rather have a 6.1 inch screen instead as it's too big. But for the price, Samsung finally did right and stopped with their $1000 phones
How much it cost
The Galaxy S20 FE is a real viable alternative to the iPhone 12.
Not really pixel 5 and iPhone 12 are same size, the s20 fe is a bigger phone by a decent amount
Unfortunately the Samsung FE in my region is the inferior exynos version.
I'm gonna go to Alaksa to photograph the northern lights. Which phone should I get??
S20 fe
The speaker difference is lol status for the pixel... Is that legit? I can't see a reason to get the pixel.... S20 FE for 600 unlocked on amazon! I'mma take it
I'm very sad but I can't imagine not buying the Pixel 5, it's just got a better camera :|
It's not only about the camera. Difference is not that grand.
Pixel 5 is for the fanboys. S20 FE is for the value seekers.
BEWARE! People are having screen issues with their s20 fe phones and Samsung hasn't been able to fix the issue.
Exactly I'm hoping they fix the issue asap
5G speed is just up to 40MBPS? Sorry, but that’s really pathetic
Google should not be charging $700 for this but I partly blame Qualcomm and the dominance they have over Android processors. I’m willing to bet Google would have liked to reuse the SD 855 for this phone which would have been much better but I doubt Qualcomm is willing to manufacture and sell them anymore. They basically only had the choice of the SD 865 or the SD 765G and went with the cheaper one.
