- Protests at UC Irvine escalated Wednesday afternoon after demonstrators surrounded a lecture hall on campus. Multiple students and professors were arrested.

Why are our tax dollars wasted on these students that seek a higher education when they willing choose to break the law by refusing to obey police order and dispersing, forcing officers to arrest them. trade schools are the best alternative, they're degrees for in demand good paying jobs. you go to university if you plan on building your own medical practice or to build a business so you can network with other talent but outside of those 2 broad subjects, the rest is just a waste of time, trade school way better

Legal, peaceful protesting is done by permit, doing so in a public area where it's allowed. Commandeering a street, private or government property is illegal-not a peaceful protest. Threatening a person, a class of people, or a government entity is illegal-not peaceful protest. Altering or building on private, public, government property such as barricades is illegal-not peaceful protest. Backing a worldwide declared terrorist group and those that elected them to be their government, is being a terrorist, not peaceful protests.

I'm a UCI student and they have NOT been violent and the police should be ashamed of arresting students with their right of free speech. The chancellor wrote a book on free speech and announced this year as a free speech year. Outrageous
