When England should have had their first penalty against France, it was denied because the initial contact took place outside of the box and so did not come under VAR. On the basis of that ruling at the highest international level this one should not have been a penalty but a free kick as contact occurred outside the box. Hope the lad did not get booked.

From highlights alone, the weaker team got through. A pretty flukey, scrappy late header makes the difference. Not just technically stronger and more hard pressing Thistle but would've been amazing for non-OF teams to advance through tournaments. Hard luck, Thistle!

Great of Partick to have a go and make a game of it, but there’s a heap of red flags in this game. First of all that ref shouldn’t be a referee. Absolutely howlin decisions for both penalties. Second, the Partick player who stamped on Tillman should have been shown red and holt should have been off for what he done to Tillman after his goal. No other team in the league system allows another team to equalise after that, especially the green and grey across the city. Beale has shown a class that no other manager would have the balls to show.

@Mojo Risin in the fullness of the game, the refereeing decisions were inconsistent for both sides and it appeared we'd been asked to allow it...I personally was booing the officials, when one of the other supporters informed us minutes after that it was Beales decision I and others agreed it was the right thing to do. Fair play to the Partick players and their fans for bringing an enthusiastic support...put most of the premiership teams to shame.

Imo its time all clubs/fans come together and demand better full-time officials, the constant bickering about decisions devalues the Scottish game.

When England should have had their first penalty against France, it was denied because the initial contact took place outside of the box and so did not come under VAR. On the basis of that ruling at the highest international level this one should not have been a penalty but a free kick as contact occurred outside the box. Hope the lad did not get booked.
If a stmirren player 'handles' the ball Vs Celtic with players behind him it's a var straight red. When čolak does it, he stays on the pitch and everyone questions why it was given. Means we should have had that grieve penalty given in the first half as well.

Cos Beale told him to let it in. Was a great show of sportsmanship after a misunderstanding with the Tillman goal. He didn’t know Thistle were planning on giving us the ball back cos he didn’t see the ball being put out when he was down injured, so he played like it was a normal throw.
