Love it! NOW, I'd love to see what and how you purchased the on-sale goodies that will replace what you have used that week. This is a great series, Heather!
Hi, Heather-I hope this helps. I have been a follower of yours since the beginning of your homesteading journey. Girl, you have grown so much! I make a taco casserole between two rolls of crescents rolls. I put crescent rolls in the bottoms of a 9x13 pan, make the taco meat (sometimes I add veggies,) top with cheese and top with another roll of crescent rolls. My kids loved this growing up. I also make quiche with pie shells. Could use up some of your squash and cheese-another good option.
Yeah Heather...you brought it!!!..I am so excited for this week. Already feeling a peace about whats for dinner. Ashamed of how much food i have been throwing away because of waiting to the last minute to make dinner. Thank you, thank you..and you are a born teacher❤🎉
I already meal plan and have my notebook set up, but you gave me some new ideas. Pigs in a blanket is what we call hot dogs or smoked sausage rolled in crescent rolls.

This was so helpful! My meal planner notebook will be delivered sometime today. Yay! You did really well with explaining Heather. Seriously, not just saying that. I absolutely love the idea of writing a pantry prayer in the meal planner notebook!! Definitely will be doing that! I’m excited for next Monday! Thank you so much ❤️

Such a FUN video!!! It gives others good ideas of how to use leftovers. I'm sure you already know, but leftover rolls are great for garlic bread and little pizzas! Yum. Very fun to watch. 🥰 Bless you sweet lady!!!
Your enthusiasm is contagious! Always enjoy your videos. I'm retired - just the two of us but was getting bored cooking every night. It's more the cleanup. I like your method. I sort of do a similar thing but cook extra so I have enough for two meals. I skip a day and have something different then change up the meal a little. Roast chicken, then chicken pot pie. Use some chicken for a chicken salad for lunch. I have a shelf in fridge dedicated to leftovers so i can easily see what to use up. I am excited for this series to learn what you and other people are doing.
So enjoyable watching this video. My meal planning days are over but when I was feeding 11 people at one stage of my life, this would have been perfect. Love your sweet spirit, Heather!
I have arthritis bad in my hands and back. And other stuff ! So I feel your pain. I wasn’t in an awful accident like your family was but i can only imagine the pain you are in and how you push yourself. And don’t you listen to mean comments. !
BRILLIANT!! You did a great job! It took me many decades of "hit and miss" to learn these skills. My family used. mm to tease me about my skills at reinventing leftovers, lol. We ALal have to be as creative as possible with grocery prices being so out of control. My grandson loves to research recipes, especially depression meals, and the recipes by me with an ingredient list. That way I make the meal when I have leftovers. Thank you for addressing these skills! God bless you and your family ❤❤❤
Lovely meal plan! It reminded me of when my kids were little. They loved what I called my kitchen sink soup. Leftover chili makes a great taco soup, leftover roast beef makes a great Italian beef soup, just add a few cups of broth and a bit of extra veg. Plus some tortilla chips, or homemade rolls, or frozen rolls, canned crescent rolls etc. voila! You have a new meal! Great video! ❤
Good Morning Heather! I've finished feeding/watering my chickens & rabbits, then a fast kitchen cleanup because right now I'm supposed to be testing that vintage 915 All American canner I told you about now that I learned how from you. But...I'm going to rest a spell & watch this video. And don't sell yourself short, kid...you are a wonderful teacher! Take that to the bank from a 40 year veteran teacher now retired...when I was responsible for hiring teachers, if you'd ever walked into my office, I'd most certainly have hired you!! Now, on with the video!
That is one of the biggest compliments I have ever received! THANK YOU! Don't get me all teary-eyed now this morning, it's Monday! hahaha I will be a wreck all week! hahaha So much love to you and your feather and fur babies! hahaha Mina wants a bunny so bad!
Listening to the intro. My week activities are already on the go. I'm in the two course and may not get to watch it all until tomorrow night. Have fun everyone!
This is why I love summer. Life slows its pace down, and people can relax more, vacation more, the hectic schedules are in slumber. I hate busy season..... hahaha I am a turtle trapped in a human body!
Heather you are something great ! I don’t have kids at home anymore but I love to watch you ! Especially making bread that I’m gonna f to learn ! You have come back so good. I know you have been thru so much. And I think you look so pretty ! Your hair looks good. I know you love braids so braid your own hair and pin it up. Would look so good on you ! I’m so proud of you. What your family has been thru and how you have come back ! God is watching over you ! ❤deb Az
You're one of the best to learn from on UA-cam, when it comes to feeding your family with healthy, cost conscious meals created with love, a positive atitude, wrapped in truth. It's a pleasure and an honor to learn from your life experiences and spiritual growth. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Gail! You got me in tears! What a humbling, heartfelt comment....thank you! It is such a blessing to be alive and able to cook for my family, I cherish every moment now. Life is so short.
I too meal plan in my head. My handwriting isn't great due to multiple sclerosis so forgive my scratch on paper. I'm going to try to add videos to go along with you here for meal planning Monday if that's ok. Most of my meal planning experience comes from my moms teaching. We grew up poor, she and my father grew and canned as much food as the could. I continued this in my adult life and I'm so thankful for their teaching. They always had a stocked pantry to work from on basic goods and shopped sales. We have definitely had to watch our budget closely over the years but more so now than ever. We lost our home to fire 2 years ago and we are still struggling to recover in this economy. We are living in a camper trying to save every penny we can for a home. I know everyone is going through it right now and I hope too that I can help at least one person out there. We love you sister ❤️
I LOVE THAT! In fact, I will make a playlist, and anyone who wants to join in, I will add it there so others can find your channel and follow your meal planning!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader I'm excited to see everyone's videos. I'm in some budgeting groups and I'm telling you the posts I see are heartbreaking. So many people are struggling and just don't know where to start. Times are so different than what they're used to.
@@elainenicholls7648 no, we had insurance and thought we were going to be ok but they did not come through on their end. They only gave us a portion of what they should've. After a year of battling with them we finally gave up. I had this insurance for 15 years and never made a claim until then.
@@TheKneadyHomesteadermy cup o’ noodles is sanctified and set apart hahahaha. But seriously I think that’s such a neat idea !!! And I’m going to do that in my whole studio !!!
You got married???!!! I am so happy for you!!! I live alone so I don't need to meal plan like you would for a family. But I sure could have used this when my family was young!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader Oh my! I cried like a baby when i saw this video! I rejoice with you on your marriage! I have followed you for several years now and am thrilled to see what God has done in you and your life!
My mom taught me to cook when I had to stand on a chair to reach the stove, but there wasn’t so much premade food back then. I turned 66 a couple of weeks ago. I made sure my kids- boys and girls could cook also. My sons are better cooks than their significant other’s. 😊
I love that! My sons also love to cook. We have a family group text chat, and we are always posting foodie pics to one another. hahaha i love it so much!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader we do family cook offs. We have a theme and everybody brings something. We vote on the best food. It’s a lot of fun and gets us all together. We usually cook over the fire pit.
What a fun way to start my Mondays! I'm super excited to watch and CHAT. You look wonderful honey😊 This video will help SOOO many people! Plus, after we make it ourselves, we can BRAG on it. 😊 Who doesn't like people asking for our recipe?? Love ya honey ❤
I do the same, cook with whatever I have on hand. The only time I might have to shop for a recipe is if my son asks for some make ahead meals for his family. 95% of the time I have everything on hand. I have two note books, budget, meal planning and grocery list. Have a good day 😊 👋🇨🇦
I have tried and can't especially with my teeth, it will text all the wrong words. HAHAHA It's more frustrating fixing it than it is to type it from the get go. hahaha I just reply and type as much as my hands will allow me, then I just start hearting as I read. LOL But I am here, I am reading. I know many UA-camrs who hire that out, and it just looses the connection for me. So I am here, I just may heart and not reply back as my hands give out. hahaha thanks for watching, I know this was a long one!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader oh I didn't think of all that but yeah words do get messed up and I feel ya on the connection part. I don't have nearly as many subs as you so it's easier to reply back and you do have that one on one connection but I could totally understand as many as you have it would be a lot. I know I haven't been here as long as some others but I'm sure they feel the same to just take your time and if you can't do it you can't do. Your 100% will know how you feel and that you love them all. I too lost my husband in an accident it will be 8 years in Nov, it's not any easier but you learn to live a different life and try to be happy.
Heather you did awesome I just joined the VIP group this is really going to help my husband and I we both share cooking duties and we shop together as well like you said we get tired of the same things all the time it is cool how you build on things in your fridge and pantry Thank you very much for doing this
Hi Heather You made me brave enough to make homemade bread I love doing the baquettes. I have been going close to the Lord and I thank you for helping me with that . May God bless you and your family 🙏💝🙏 I am so proud of you all you have been through you are such a inspiration to so many of us . Thank you Patricia Bless you
Hi Heather. You as well as Noreen are the first ladies I started listening to here on UA-cam almost 6 years ago when I started my own UA-cam journey. You have taught me so much about making bread from scratch and so many other things. Although I haven’t done videos in a while because… Life… I can’t wait to get back to it. You inspire me. You are such a strong lady and I love that you keep it real. Sending love and prayers to you. 13:02
Sis....you know I just went looking for you a few weeks ago....wondering how you were! It's been 3 years since your last video. Your video replies to me while making your sourdough, still sits in my heart! One of my favorite things that happened here on this platform. I hope you come back!!!! I loved your videos. You are your sweet babygirl!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader oh now I’m going to cry! Lol. I didn’t think you would remember me. I re-watched/listened to the sourdough videos I did and I thought “oh my gosh I hope I did this right lol“ I’ve been watching/listening to all of your videos and my heart broke with everyone else’s when you went through the tragedy but here you are strong as ever. I want to come back so bad! I can’t wait to do so. Life sure does throw in monkey wrenches doesn’t it? I have also started going to church in this last year and I’m feeling better about things. Thank you for looking me up. XOXO
Yay! Time opened up tonight to watch. Loved the video. I enjoyed learning the process and I'm impressed with how meals for one day are part of another meal too. You've really got this done and only one item to purchase. Glad you're doing this. Thanks Heather.
Yay! Thank you! And so glad you enjoyed it. hahaha The Lord certainly has taught me a lot. I am blessed to be able to have the opportunity to share it with all of you.
I loved your explanations Heather, you were very clear and concise. I got the same planner and have been using all September so far. My pantry is very small, I’m trying to build it up, and also going to start home canning. Thank you for all of your hard work, it’s helping ! -Dawn
This was very thorough as i expected.😁 The part you shared about looking at what you already have and build around that is crucial to not waste anything. What a great idea and so practical! Our budget has shrunk way down and we cant waste anything. We've had a series of large expenses that has left us no choice but to use credit cards 😩. We are absolutely drowning. We found a community center that gives free quilting and crocheting classes, ive always wanted to learn to quilt..YAY!! So we are trying to find as much as we can that is on sale or free. Thanks for the info my sister❤🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️
Absolutely love this video! Thank you so much for sharing. I have been wanting to do this for some time and now I have a good video to help me start! I am totally looking forward to your next meal planning video. Have a wonderful week!❤
I love it! I am going to join in on Meal Planning Monday. I am going to start in a couple of weeks, but you have helped me so much over the years, and I want to pass it on! Love you oh so much, Heather! - Raylynn
thank you Elizabeth, and that works! I personally love leftovers. I think they taste as good if not better sometimes. haha Maybe it's because I did have to cook it? hahaha
Even though I'm a seasoned "kitchen queen", lol, this kind of content renews my energy and gives me excitement and motivation to look at preparing good for my family a fun challenge! And I think you might be right in what God has planned for your channel♡♡♡
You’re doing great explaining things! It made perfect sense. Thank you for sharing. You’re doing an awesome job. I ordered the journal for myself and one for my grown daughter.🙂
My grandparents used to shop like this. They always had a stockpile in their basement. Us grandkids called it the 'grocery store' Yes, I only buy things I like too. When hard times come you want to at least have joy in what you have. I used to take $50 each week and buy things. At first you might not think you have enough, the next week you think I really don't need that, but then you'll have a stock pile 😁
YES!!!! That's a great way to do it too! Eat a sandwich for dinner and take the money you would have spent on pizza or fast food, and buy something for the pantry! Fast food is so expensive now....
I think this meal plan will also keep food from bring eaten sooner than planned. Keep everything organized and on track. I really have wanted to do this for over 30 years. Life would have been so much better if I did. What's done is done, though. Now, for the present. Tell me more on how i can be on this calab 🙏 please
YES! Like, dont touch that sausage, its on the meal plan! hahahaha. I just came over to subscribe to you! Just turn on your camera and film your journey through meal planning!!!! Just folks seeing someone else start, will inspire others!
I too went through hard times. I learned how to food budget like you. I do it all in my head now. I don’t waste. I’m sure that this will be helpful to others. Thank you for sharing! ❤
I have been trying to meal plan but hadn’t figured out the best way for me. I think you have just helped me figure out how to do it!! I love your videos and love your faith!❤
it's incredible what a well balanced diet can do for your body! a year eating mashed carbs and liquids....horrible on your health! Trying to focus on getting healthy and strong now....
Thank you for a wonderful video. You’ve sparked a lot of ideas. I started by writing down each of my grandkids favorite meal they eat here not at their dad’s. Then I wrote down 7 meals extra as meal ideas when my brain doesn’t want to think correctly. I plan on expanding my meal ideas from there.
I use a calendar that I can usually get for free from the bank, pharmacy, or any store. Dollar tree if I have to pay for one. I write planned meals on the days of the week and make my grocery list on paper. I plan from my freezer meats and pantry then fill in holes. (Limit to 2 or 3 missing ingredients) Then shop ONLY sales to fill pantry. My budget for 2 of us is not more than $150 per month.
Thanks for sharing!! Love when you find a system that works....like a well oiled machine! Takes so much stress off not wondering "what am I going to make for dinner?" hahaha
I'm so happy that you brought this back. I used to meal plan with you way back when ! You did awesome Heather!!! You providing so many alternatives too, keeping in mind that all families eat and like differently. Thank you!!!
I make a BIG salad every Sunday. Just a plain one. And, i also make a dozen hard boiled eggs. I usually eat a salad for lunch and just add tomatoes and sliced hard boiled egg and cucumber unti the lettuce is gone. If i make tuna or chicken salad i scoop out a little canned tuna or canned chicken and keep it in a small sandwich bag. I add this to my individual salad bowl for upgraded salad. Yummy!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader I refuse to eat store bought tomatos so I always freeze home grown chopped tomatoes to use when the tomato season is over. 😢 My kids were raised on salads, and its sooo easy for them add the extras they love. It's so filling and so much better for them than lunch meat.
I think I love you even more now after watching this video ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I always tell my family how kind you have been with me, how you are so attentive to respond to your viewers ❤️ When I was learning how to cook and to bake, my husband and I were in a very bad financial situation. We spent a long time without eating fruit because we couldn't afford anything other than potatoes and bell peppers and rice. We ate that for well over a year. My precious husband would go to Ralph's and buy bread pans on sale for 1.99 and utensils for 0.89 cents. I still have everything he bought for me at that time, he was the one who inspired me to learn and he would buy anything he could afford just to help me 🥲❤️ I love your story! You are a blessing in my life 🙏🏻 Love you sweet Heather 💕 God bless you and your family in Jesus name 🙌🏻
Carol! I hope you can feel my hug from here, Sis!!!! ❤️ Those tests become our testimony! God pulls us through them. Thank you for sharing that with me….. when you go through hardships they either tear you apart or pull you closer. Those hard trials can turn out to be such blessings. 🥰 God bless, sis and so glad you are here.
Loved the video. I made a monthly menu back in 2013 and it’s still is on my fridge. I still follow it. I have changed a few dishes but manly stays the same. I like a variety for the week. Italian, seafood, beef, pork, chicken and of course pizza. The menu changes with the seasons, summer grilling, fall crockpot and winter more oven dishes. If I know Mondays are Italian I have four or five, depending on the month, different ideas to pick from if I don’t want to make what’s scheduled. My pantry holds the things for my menu calendar.
Thank you so much, Heather! This is gonna really change the way I do grocery shopping - starting this week! And I have never done meal planning before, so am excited to try this, too! Looking forward to Mondays now! 😊
I've wrapped my hotdogs in bacon. Delicious on a soft bun with all the trimmings. You did a great job Heather. I need to take inventory for sure. I always love to see you and visit with you. This is a new way of meal planning for me. Love ya lady.

THANK YOU!!!!! I appreciate that so much.
I’ve been wanting to start meal planning again and this was perfect timing. Thank you for all your great ideas and this was so helpful!
God bless you and your family ❤❤❤
hahaha reinventing, YES Mama, my spirit hears you! hahaha I love that your grandson loves to help you....teach them young!
Love that!
So glad to see you, you're wonderful, you go girl!
I look forward to watching these. I work from home so I can listen while working.
YAY! Well, I hope you enjoy....
I love Barn 45, I am so excited for the new season! I'm so excited to see Meal planning Monday.
YAY! Me too. This morning was so rich!
Oh my, yes it was and so needed!
❤deb Az
oh thank you Deb! That means so much to me, you have no idea. xoxo
Did you try a go fund me
@@TheKneadyHomesteader I'm excited to see everyone's videos.
Love Friday and another use to the home canned beans.
YES!!!!!!!!!! hahaha
I’m still loving the idea of praying over my kitchen. It’s on my list of things to do this week for my my daily home blessing.
it just changes the space! it places a holiness now on what you do.....
I did! hahaha THANK YOU! ua-cam.com/video/6XLmAigo3zE/v-deo.htmlsi=DcnRLZ4Zo0MFiatW
Right there with you!
My mom taught me when I was standing in a chair as well. We didn't have pre-made food either.
Heather you are a gift ❤ very helpful & informative thank you
So glad! thanks for watching, Mama!
Yay! Thank you! So good to see you this morning Sherry!!!!
Fantastic…Love your hair this way. ❤❤
You said everything beautifully Thank you for sharing ❤🌹🇨🇦
I do the same, cook with whatever I have on hand. The only time I might have to shop for a recipe is if my son asks for some make ahead meals for his family. 95% of the time I have everything on hand.
I have two note books, budget, meal planning and grocery list.
Have a good day 😊
👋🇨🇦
Love that! Fantastic!!!! Thanks for sharing that Donna!!!!
Use talk to text if you need to. Thank you for this video and your strength it is very encouraging.
Heather you did awesome I just joined the VIP group this is really going to help my husband and I we both share cooking duties and we shop together as well like you said we get tired of the same things all the time it is cool how you build on things in your fridge and pantry Thank you very much for doing this
YAY!!! Oh I am so glad you joined! I think a hangout once a week will be fun! hahaha
Hi Heather
You made me brave enough to make homemade bread I love doing the baquettes. I have been going close to the Lord and I thank you for helping me with that . May God bless you and your family 🙏💝🙏 I am so proud of you all you have been through you are such a inspiration to so many of us .
Thank you
Patricia
Bless you
Don't make me cry now, Patricia! Gd bless you, sweet mama! So much love to you!
Thank you so much for helping us do a meal plan. Love your videos.
It is absolutely my pleasure!
❤❤❤ my favorite videos!🎉
Yay! Thank you! hahaha I was so excited to bring this back. Now more than ever!
Loved the video. Very. Sweet and calming.
Thank you! 😊
I am so excited for your new adventure!!!!
You can save a lot of money by making your own salad dressings. Healthier for you too.
absolutely!
Absolutely love this video! Thank you so much for sharing. I have been wanting to do this for some time and now I have a good video to help me start! I am totally looking forward to your next meal planning video. Have a wonderful week!❤
YAY! Oh this makes me so happy, Ronnie!!!! I can't wait to see you back here next week!
I have been waiting for these!!!!!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍
YAY!!!!! this one is a long one. hahaha
I love it! I am going to join in on Meal Planning Monday. I am going to start in a couple of weeks, but you have helped me so much over the years, and I want to pass it on! Love you oh so much, Heather! - Raylynn
Great video !!!
THANK YOU, Sarah!!!!
Great information!!!! Loved watching your organized fridge too.
I truly enjoy your videos. May the Lord bless you.
Thank you! You too!
Thank you so much for sharing this!
Love your videos. I don’t cook every night, last night leftovers is tonight dinner. If not enough find something to add to it
thank you Elizabeth, and that works!
Love that! You renew me too!!!!😁❤️
You did great, Heather!
You explained it perfectly! 😘
You helped me with meal planning, years ago. It helps me save money.
YAY! Oh that makes me happy!!!!
You’re doing great explaining things! It made perfect sense. Thank you for sharing. You’re doing an awesome job. I ordered the journal for myself and one for my grown daughter.🙂
Awesome! Thank you!
My grandparents used to shop like this. They always had a stockpile in their basement. Us grandkids called it the 'grocery store'
Yes, I only buy things I like too.
New to you and love this and will participate.
YAY! Welcome aboard, Susan! So happy to have you here!
This was very helpful. I already got some good ideas from the video. Thank you.
I'm so glad!
This was so very helpful! Thank you so much❤️
I'm so glad!
Thank you so much for sharing this with us it's really gonna help stretch my budget
You are so welcome!
Brilliant!!!
You did an amazing job explaining. I can’t wait to give this a try. Thank you so much
thank you!!!
I miss Michigansnowpony
me too! she used to homeschool! Remember when she got her Hoosier cabinet? hahaha oh how I miss her channel!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader I wonder what she's up to now. The girls must be all grown up now
I think this meal plan will also keep food from bring eaten sooner than planned.
thanks Gloria! God brought us through those times, for this moment in time! I believe that!
LOVE IT!
I would love everything about anything you have to say! Love you Heather!
awww love you too Sandy!
Very helpful you did a fantastic job
I'm so glad! hahaha YAY!
I have been trying to meal plan but hadn’t figured out the best way for me. I think you have just helped me figure out how to do it!! I love your videos and love your faith!❤
I'm so glad! oh this makes my heart happy. Let me know how it's going for you! I will see you back here Monday!
Heather your hair is absolutely gorgeous! And you are looking very healthy.
it's incredible what a well balanced diet can do for your body! a year eating mashed carbs and liquids....horrible on your health!
That's a great idea!
This has been extremely helpful. Ty ❤
I'm so glad!😀
Really enjoyed the video and the way you do the menus!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you Deb!!!!!!
I'm so happy that you brought this back. I used to meal plan with you way back when ! You did awesome Heather!!! You providing so many alternatives too, keeping in mind that all families eat and like differently. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much!! Girl, you been with me forever! hahaha So much love to you!
Yummy!
LOVE THAT!!!! Now, I want to make that for lunch! hahaha
I think I love you even more now after watching this video ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I always tell my family how kind you have been with me, how you are so attentive to respond to your viewers ❤️
When I was learning how to cook and to bake, my husband and I were in a very bad financial situation. We spent a long time without eating fruit because we couldn't afford anything other than potatoes and bell peppers and rice. We ate that for well over a year.
My precious husband would go to Ralph's and buy bread pans on sale for 1.99 and utensils for 0.89 cents. I still have everything he bought for me at that time, he was the one who inspired me to learn and he would buy anything he could afford just to help me 🥲❤️
I love your story! You are a blessing in my life 🙏🏻
Love you sweet Heather 💕
God bless you and your family in Jesus name 🙌🏻
What a blessing you are! The Lord is using you in a powerful way 🙏❤
oh my heart! thank you!
Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
Thank you Heather! You are inspiration
