      @@switch9561 Enamik eestlasi ütleks pigem vast midagi nagu "Nalja teed vä?". "Oled sa tõsine?" on tibake...stiff. Ei oska isegi Eesti keelse sõnaga kirjeldada seda.

    Goddamn õ is hard, im a finn btw, we have ö and ä, and ü is written y in finnish, so y and ü are same sounds. But the õ is so insane!! Its the ɤ sound, a bit similiar with ö, ü/y and e

    Hi! Can you do a short video on repeated vowels? One things that truly strikes me about the Estonian language is the clustering of repeated or sequential vowels. For example, how one pronounces kõueöö?

    I was in Estonia last year and what weirded me out was how many Estonian words are like 100 percent Dutch. Kiek in de kök, klooster, kaart, troost, mantel... they mean the same and are even pronounced exactly the same. Estonian sometimes sounds strangely familiar.

    Some dialects also have 3 additional vowels: Y, Å, and É.
    Y = [ɨ]
    Å = [ɒ]
    É = [ε]

    Great video again! I have to nitpick something though.
    õ is same as Korean ㅡ or 으 or Turkish ı.
    The o in "go away" is actually just o.

    Would you be willing to speak the pronunciation to a song my choir is singing? The song is Muusika by Part Uusberg. I can send you the text. We are singing it for a competition and I would love to have an expert record the rponunciation!! Thank you for your consideration. :)

    • @LittleMissSquirrel

      Unfortunately we perform March 10/11. We are within one week of beginning to learn words, as that is why I am trying to verify. IPA is given, but I'm not certain of the accuracy. For example, you said that "e" is always "eh", but the IPA shows that some of these vowels are "ee" (as in "feel"). Is thee a rule to know when that happens? I will include text here:
      Kuskil peab alguskokkukõla olema,
      kuskil suures looduses, varjul.
      On tema vägevas laotuses,
      Täheringide kauguses,
      on tema päikese sära sees,
      lillekeses, metsakohinas,
      emakõne südamemuusikas
      või silmavees -
      kuskil peab surematus olema,
      kuskil alguskokkukõla leitama:
      kust oleks muidu inimese rinda saanud ta -
      muusika?
      (sõnade autor: Juhan Liiv)

      if you contact me through my email that is given on my channel info page then I am able to send you the recordign file. Also, by following my alphabet and the vowels videos you should be able to pronounce everything right. Estonian is pronounced the way it is written, not like English, so if you pronounce the letters as they are pronounced in the videos then you should be fine. But I'll try to help you as well.
