You can see this yourself if you look for the statistics from the Institute of Communist Crimes and Victims of Exile of Romania, or any news agency that polls it independently. It's true that he did bad and good, and that the people aren't necessarily longing for the entirety of the system, but in comparison to today I'm not surprised people would rather be repressed for listening to Free Europe rather than RT.
