A British barmaid has been propelled into the spotlight for her ability to play havoc with electricity supplies.
Debbie Wolf's electrifying presence causes light bulbs to blow, street lights to suddenly turn on and volumes on C-D players to increase.
In Brighton, Debbie Wolf has become something of a celebrity as a result of her strange powers.
Debbie is a "slider" - which stands for Street Lamp Interference Data Exchange.
It's a rare phenomenon which occurs when certain people cause street lights to go on and off simply by walking past them.
A barmaid by trade, Debbie's powers have been playing havoc with the electricity at work.
So far, her boss says he keeps Debbie on the payroll because she is boosting trade - but she comes at a cost.
He's had to replace three C-D players and numerous light bulbs.
Debbie thinks she probably affects more electrical appliances than other "sliders".

Hilary Evans believes he is the first and so far only person to study the phenomenon.
He coined the term "sliders" and has collected letters from all over the world from people with the condition.
Debbie wrote to him when she saw him speaking about the subject on television.

It's just they've got some kind of ability.. it's like the ability that Mozart had to compose music.. just a gift they've got. It may not be a gift they would like to have. At home, Debbie certainly lives in a highly charged atmosphere.
T-V, lights, C-D players and even a person's energy levels can go haywire when she is in the room.
If she is near the C-D player, the volume rarely stays static.
Helen, Debbie's flat mate, is a professional chef and most of the time sees to it that Debbie stays out of the kitchen.
Not only do they not have a fridge - because they can't afford to keep replacing it - the cooker is in a bad way.
Debbie causes some of the electric rings to overheat too quickly, simply by being too close.
Even making a cup of hot chocolate is a challenge as the milk boils over immediately because of the over-energised stove.
Even though all the elements are turned off, the milk continues to boil.
It's times like this that Helen kindly asks Debbie to leave the room.

I was able to shut down a projector and all electricity in the upstairs room in a meeting . I really hated being there and wish the damn lights and electricity went out . Next thing everything shut off only affecting this area while the rest of the place had power . They found it really strange and couldn't understand why it happened .
It wasn't you. Only narcissistic people think that random events have something to do with themselves. Why must it have been you and not some other person in the room you nut.

i was born in 1980 i was wondering how many of these people were born in that time that have this. when I was little I met a girl in Greenville NC that had the same thing, i am from st. petersburg Florida, we were able to make each others hair stand up it was really weird.
One of my oldest friends is the same, even worse though. He's blown thousands of dollars worth of electronics, used to cause all sorts of electronic malfunctions in TVs, dvd players, etc
Strange this doesn't necessarily happen to me but for some reason i have days in which lots of errors happen around me, it's like bad luck but it only seems to affect technil stuff, am i part of yall?

I can do this too... it relates to my mood when I'm stressed, nervous or really excited... this girl could see my aura (orange when I was excited) and when I got tired... she didn't see it anymore... anyway, we got into an argument about energy transference and believe it or not, my apartment fuses went out... freaked me out, but realized I did it.

I wasn't sure if it was a glitch with Windows font and I believe I looked up something that said it could have been... but it always kind freaked me out. Hasn't happened in awhile, either that, or I haven't tried to pre-cognitively think about it like I used to after I saw it happen a couple times but this was near early 2000s I think
I used to blow incandescent bulbs if I woke up angry and sometimes had to leave friend`s houses so TVs, VCRs and microwaves would work. I`ve destroyed a lot of electronics but it seems to have slowed down in the past few years. Two Christmases ago we had to replace a bunch of bulbs in the kitchen and bathroom, including the oven and fridge. The microwave messed up too.

I always get it when I'm highly stressed about something.
I have this ability too, however, don't know when it will happen nor do I know how to harness this ability. Sometimes I can go long periods with nothing happening. Recently, it started again with lights flickering close to me. In the past I have blown light bulbs, had a coach/bus that I was on breakdown and then restart a while later without any breakdown/ repair service involved, set-off office equipment like shredders close to me, TV and stereo volume increasing, street lights going off as I walked under them - once three in a row.
Interesting you've had the volume increasing... I think I made the volume change as well on my computer one time just by thought/being stressed at the same time... I was like I wonder if I'm playing my music too loud, maybe I should turn it down so my neighbors don't hear it... 2 seconds later, the volume went down by itself
Weird how whatever device you used to type this still works though...
Let's not forget by computer was hella lagging whilst video editing so I could have probably tried to lower the volume down on my mac laptop and the actions were implented 30 seconds to a minute later'--- (rationale explanation)

I totally do this! I also move furniture and bend glass or break it by touching it. I also cause plants to grow. I recently left for work and my poor room mate woke up and the furniture was in the center of the living room. He of course freaked out. He left the house. I came home and all the area rugs were sideways. The shower curtain was open and every light in the house was on. 4 days later when he finally came home I asked gim if he turned on every light and messed up every pillow etc. Nope.

there seems to be a few of us strange people on the planet , i thought for decades it was because i stuck a fork in a power point at 1 years old and blacked out the small town ( i obviously do not remember this , but the fire brigade told my parents there is no way the 240volts should of reversed back to the main power station in the town , that it should of killed me . I am 52 now and i gave up having light globes in my house . and I do not have a TV as it just would turn on and off , volume changes , channels change ...so annoying. Oh and the zapping anyone when i touch them , thankfully this does not happen as much now but use to be every time .

Slap me, and I wake up with bruises all over my body like I have been wrestling with Mike Tyson all night. I don't know the deal with that. Just last night, I was attacked. "it's not going to hurt people" - yeah that's not accurate. my 10th grade physics teacher would strongly disagree Bell rang, I was walking away in middle of his crazy rant about me deliberately breaking new computers in lab - he grabbed my arm I could feel the shock - just like before lightening storms right before it shocked him. his pace maker went out - he had a heart attack. Or my first kiss - he had a seizure after getting shocked. And that incident with my car computer that went out 2 months ago while driving 85 mph in fast-lane on I80 (at least no one hurt but....)

@@rtruth7002 There have been studies on this and is moving away from fringe science. Way too many people are able to do this. I am O negative and it has happened to me too many times to be a coincidence.

OMG, Shhhhh, come closer, I want to tell you a secret but you have to swear to me that you will never tell a soul. I have been struggling with this thing for years now and I didn't know how to explain it. I kept it a secret because I thought I was possessed with demons or something scary. Um, I have caused roadlights to blow and pop, and I go into a room and the lights will sometime go dim and back up. I tried to play it off for years. I am glad their are others out there like me. Now there is a name for it.
