Finally, a Chaos faction which isn't "kill maim and destroy" but actually have reasons for why they do what they do
The chaos faction tends to be egaliterian in the aspect that its meritocratic and dont discriminate between humans and aliens for instance.
@@a.m928 chaos has a surface appearance of egalitarian, but its actually a meritocracy, those who are skilled and win favour enough rise to the top (but will ultimately lose)
Yes, evil doesn't discriminate. Everybody suffers, Chaos or not.
@@the98themperoroftheholybri33 except for maybe Nurgle. He did turn a Deacon that had little fighting experience into a Daemon Prince
@@a.m928
Most Chaos factions are just as xenophobic as the Imperium, it's like the one thing the Loyalist and Traitor Astartes agree on, the fact that Xenos must die. This seems more like the exception than the rule from what I've read.

Theres a fan codex, it's v good iwl
I sure hope they bring back the heretics and renegades codex sometime soon
Yeah, I expect we will see them sooner or later. It’s a lot of work to update your product line the way they have been doing.
@@thewilltheway Arroand time of Darktide Release.
Well in the new codex theirs a push for traitor guard and cults. You can prob run a mostly cult and traitor army in terms of infantry.
Just using marine vehicles for punch.
I think Khorne would've preferred any Commissar from this group over Angron cuz they are probably like Sanguinius.... Honorable as well as warring but not mindless
They are described as very fanatical and bloodthirsty but they are disciplined, highly skilled and with an high regard for strategy and tactics.
@@mattiaslime8926 which is why Khorne favored Sanguinius. He was all those things... Angron was essentially the consultation prize especially after Horus killed Sanguinius. Even Khorne is honest with favourites
@@finnmchugh99 imagine the skill, ability, martial prowes, honor and bloodlust of a khornate sanguinius and blood angels with a massive amount of these bloodpacts as the bulk of his legion.

Me: “oh come on he has to be making shit up now” and it turns out…..Warhammer is far deeper and crazier with each post this man makes
These are the guys who I'd wanna see as an enemy in a 40k game.
Not nurgle.
A well-organized chaos army, that of Traitor Guardsmen regiments. That would be more terrifying, instead of the usual "Kill, Maim, burn" routine.
Well The Moebian 6Th are apparently like this but for the Darktide/Nurgle
how dare you shit on papa nurgle
To be honest it would be nice to see a nurgle based faction that's all about the other parts of nature that Nurgle embodies but sorely neglects...them being recycling and renewal. They would be the missing pieces to the cycles of death, decay AND rebirth, actually absorbing and repurposing the decay around them, the blood, bones, and rotting flesh turned into fertilizer, feeding new life like beautiful trees, flowers, and ofcourse mushrooms, not covered in putrid slime but ecosystems that would look suprisingly pleasant if a bit "warped" because of deamonic design philosophy! Basically as Nurgle typically looks the part of rot, and decay itself, these "nurglites" would appear like overgrown flora feeding on the remains of the battlefields, not letting good fertilizer go to waste.
Call them the "corpse eaters" but look like these beutiful looking flowery warriors ready to complete the great cycles of nature!
@@anthonyallmond3682 would’ve been better if the Moebian Sixth are Chaos Undivided but they helped the Cult of Admonition (Nurgle) to spread plague in Atoma Prime.
The fact that they are a version of the Imperium that worship Chaos, tolerates xenos and many of their chain command derives directly from the Imperial Guard instead of the Traitor Legions makes them unique enough to be worthy of their own Codex and more lore.
No, it's just another weapon you can use to screw over your enemies, plus dissatisfied Nobles or Incompetent Officers who don't like the way the Imperials order them about (See Traitor General).
@@andrewcormack-foster3790
It seems that amongst the Blood Pact, incompetent officers have no place in their original rank.
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! GOLD FOR THE GOLDEN THRONE!
Chaos cultist: what!?
Blood for the Blood God, Souls for the Soul Throne probably work, I do think that Souls for the Empty Throne also works. Some way to tie in the 1000 people sacrificed everyday would probably be the direction just throwing out first things I think of
At last we found the good guys of 40k
Nah the good guys are nurgles boys they give the most gifts
The only good guys are the orks.
From the ork perspective. They want everyone to have as much fun as them.
And the fact that they're a Chaos faction too.
Useful idiots of W40K
The good guys of 40K? 😂😅 Man, up your standards.
Never heard of these guys before. They sounds really interesting. We need a video game based on them.
Check out rubix raptor or rimmy down under: arma UA-camrs that do warhammer 40k content
'Gaunts ghosts' novels feature them as the main antagonists
Hopefully darktide will give them a dlc way later down the line after the game releases
They are the main antagonist of Gaunt's Ghosts book series. I highly recommend it.
@@moutmout80 wasnt also another chaos faction that was trying to make a profesional army? They also apeared in gaunts ghosts and they hd some kind of rivalry with the blood pact.
Their name was something like (blank) sons if i remember correctly
They are a perfect example for everyone excepting that is Lorgar fault why the imperium is rotting now not the Emperor. And we need in warhammer 40k more cults like this one but for each chaos god not just for Korne. Like a iconic faction.
Always though the Hounds Of Bedlam were an awesome exemple of traitor guardsman, but serving Slaneesh. They are really interesting, using snipers, infiltration and mutants against the Imperium....
It's both their fault for different reasons. If it was for the Emperor, the Imperium wouldn't have lasted a century. Thankfully, Malcador was quite political savvy and instituted much of the imperial governance structure that allowed the Imperium to survive, with faith as the fix all glue. It is still horribly crappy, but it is still whole at the very least.
@@giacomoromano8842 i know but not many know that Lorgar changed everything they can to make the imperium to work indirectly for chaos.
Imagine a Chaos regiment dedicated to Tzeentch that's...totally straight up and blunt with people, even their enemies. (save ofcourse strategically important secrets ofcourse) They'd be all about inspiring HOPE in the downtrodden of various worlds of the cruel, oppressive Imperium helping to organize overthrows of planetary governors only to...be totally legite in just wanting people to be free, to have options again.
*Because for them, having as many options as possible is like having as many paths as possible, which is the heart and soul of possibility.*
@@navilluscire2567 true, and if are not under the control of Tzeentch and they will by truly free (more or less) maybe technically make the imperium a better place and that will by a way how mankind will can coexista with chaos without being that worst and if all chaos cults was like that to represent the good part of chaos will affect chaos gods making them less chaos and more order counting that primary food source fost chaos gods is mankind and i think and im more than sure, that's why Anathoma/God Emperor don't wanted to destroy chaos gods but just to stop them like the C'tan if one is destroyd including that a C'tan can by just consumed by other C'tan how its happend in the War in Heaven, distruction of a chaos god can have inimaginabile consecuences, reason why will not by a realy good idea if eldar god of death will kill Slaanesh, howerver will not by realy good for the rest of the galaxy what provet that eldars don't think about others than them selfs and do something good just if they will have to win, in one example sometimes inquisition return soul stones to the eldars just becose they want and they know will just by more peacefull with human population and like that.
The answer to the question of “What do you get when the Khornate cultists are organized, disciplined and relatively reasonable?”
Khorne worshippers that take their meds
So a Khornate faction that puts more emphasis on his honorable strategic side? I'll take 20 :)
They also have Khornate Sorcerer, sometimes that should not be possible. I think they got a past from Khorne because they used them to augment the fighting ability of their troop rather then shooting fireballs.
@@Underworlddream It's kinda weird. Khorne REALLY hates psykers, but he likes khornate rituals. Rituals are something anyone can do and also draw upon the power of the warp. They just take a lot longer and are a LOT more costly to use and/or fuck up.
Honourable and strategic, are you sure you’re talking about khornce here?
@@bullethail3875 a lot of those rituals include blood sacrifice, so that's probably why.
@@thesmilinggun-knight9646 funny enough yes he is. It's just bloodlust is the easiest to cave into so the vast majority of he followers are like that. But Khorne does value honour very highly

thx for the recommendation
@@crimsonitacilunarnebula damn I read those books so long ago I forgot that

@@TheIronFourth they are one of the best in 40k universe, i recomend you give it a second read
Love the lore for a lesser discussed faction. Keep up the great work Inquisitor.
I always hated what gw did with khorne he's pretty much a cartoon character now and the blood pact should be the norm not the exception for khornate armies
But how complex can you make a god who is the embodiment of war, rage and bloodlust.
Even gods of war in different mythologies aren’t morally complicated characters like the Greek god of war Ares all he wants from his followers is to wage war non stop.
Edit
Gods of war can be summed up in the simple as meme and there nothing wrong with having a simple villain because khornce is simple like Ares khornce just wants his worshippers to kill and burn everything and you don’t really need anything more then that because being a bloodthirsty Barbarian who has absolute freedom does have a Savage appeal.
Khorne is his own biggest enemy. He's not a God of War (like Khaine), he's a God of Bloodshed. He wants killing and death in bloody battle. Which means he doesn't care about casualties on *his* side, either. More violent death = Good to him.
He is, essentially, self-defeating since he despises *sneaky* or *clever* tactics and encourages (and rewards) mindless violence.
All the Chaos Gods are like this. They specialize too hard on their "thing" to the point where it becomes a weakness, not a strength.
@@thebighurt2495 khornce is a god of war just not a war god of strategies and tactics but of bloodshed and slaughter.
Khornce is very much like the orcs in the sense that he doesn’t really care if his side wins or not he just wants there be blood and rage.
@@thesmilinggun-knight9646 true but he is also god of honour and martial skill I am not saying he should be morally gray but there should at least be some good
@@clyde7169 I have to disagree with the idea that khornce is honourable mainly down to two factors, 1) of all the books I have read and games I’ve played not one character has ever referred to khornce as a god of honour, 2) the actions of his worshippers and Demons are not what I would call honourable for instance the former chapter master of the blood ravens kyras was granted demonhood by khornce after he tricked many of his battle-brothers into the worship of the blood god and in the book Champion of khornce Kharn (who the closest thing to a prophet that khornce worshippers have) kills a world eater Captain that he championed all because the captain put a hand on kharn’s shoulder while thanking him for his Service, one final example is khornce himself was part of a conspiracy which lied to Horus about the future if he didn’t rebel against his father.
Virgin cultists:"Noooo! You can't worship I Minor God! It is better to serve one of the great powers!"
Chad Blood Pact:"No." *Proceeds to kill them all*
This sounds exactly like what a chaos cult would tell you so they sound reasonable...
The idea though is kinda funny, its almost as if the Emperor is holding them back. If the Imperium worshipped the Chaos Gods I'm pretty sure nearly every other faction in the galaxy would be dead.
Save the Orks... because Orks, and the Necrons because in that timeline they probably wake up, think **** that and jusyt go back to sleep again.
They leave out the details about just what, precisely, is required for their rituals.

I look forward to the Moebians as well. I believe Dan Abnett wrote both them and the Blood Pact.
Fun Fact: The Blood Pact gets its name from its induction ritual where new members must swear fealty to Urlock Gaur by cutting their hands upon his armor. While traditionally it should be the hands, blood pact specialists such as snipers, engineers, etc are exempt from cutting their hands during the oath to ensure that they remain dexterous enough to do their jobs properly.
Because the Blood Pact might be chaos cultists but they’re the best kind, they’re reasonable.
No soldiers should cut their hands so as to risk being incapacitated in any way.
