I always get sad when I see the lack of people at the track, our family was stationed at Fort Ord from 75-80 and we went to all of the races at Seca, backyard after all, and there were people in the stands, the hillsides, all down the Corkscrew (our favorite spot).
The Japanese have a word "natsukashi". It basically means something along the lines of "Ahh, I remember the ol' days". Seeing this race gives me that feeling. I watched many of these cars run at Mid-Ohio back in the day! :-)
They were only racing because they bought themselves some management people and received weight breaks and all kinds advantages. Trans am was dying and they were desperate for new money and interest.
@Tom Hutchins Ya its funny they were allowed to run such wide tires with all wheel drive. Funny too Audi being the POS that they are decide once the ''cheating" wasnt allowed thay werent going to compete and left. Then again look at all the Diesel victories, ya those fuel rules were fair too lmao. Somethign quite wrong with developing a car you have to lobby for favorable rules for....

Alot of the Capri's and mustangs had boss style 302ci engines , 8.2"deck height, early Ford Motorsport C3/C302B heads, but a cheaper still awsome engine option these days are ex Nascar 358ci cup motors there are thousands of them and they make more HP and torque and u can keep the original 302ci to sell with the car later.

People seem to keep talking about a car audi used in these races ,I'm not familiar but I'd belive they banned a superiour european brand that smokes these mediocre cars.
Audi was even in the race because they bought themselves some management people and received weight breaks and all kinds advantages. Trans am was dying and they were desperate for new money and interest. On equal grounds Audi's would have been rolling lap markers
Like what GT3 does with the corvettes that start out winning every season and then make them add weight and lessen power so their poster child Porsche gt3 can try and get to the podiums.
They were a great support race for the GTP series. I loved watching these back in the day.
I love this generation of cars!👻👍
GHOSTJERKER Me too!
me 3 😁
Me 4 bud
older cars but golden cars
Dig the Olds Cutlass. I hate Oldsmobile but seeing that FWD grandma machine turned bad ass is amazing.
Gentlemen racing, awesome, great to see these cars on the track again!
The sexiest race cars ever
That poor little e30 has no chance against most of these cars, but its really great to see non the less.

This is what I like real production cars, outfitted for racing with original bodies intact, not the fiberglass cookie cutter cars of today.
The rx-7 looks awesome.
Shame there's no Audi 200. Guess they didn't want it winning again.
MAGA - Make Audi Great Again

So awesome seeing that Beretta, even when it's not pointing the right way!
EVERY one of these cars are cool.. so much fin to watch.
I wonder if there was a gto or transam audi quattro there, the queen of them all
They're too scared to put it on the track. 1988 and 1989 all over again ;)
Quattro is banned for ever XD

Something wrong with the number 15 mustang, they used to be around 1000 hp back in the day, 1300 hp in qualifying from the 4 banger.
Nice... but where are the Audis?
Kommentator Quattro is banned for ever XD
TheEryk03 They're still salty 😂
My same thought!!
Way ahead :D
they won this race before it even started ;)
The F40 LM will always be the best IMSA GTO car. Although it was never as good as the Audi 90 or the RX-7 it’s still a beautiful machine.
Awesome

This blows... I was all excited at the prospect of seeing some '70's Trans-Am cars airing themselves out, but nothing.
