- Prostitution is running rampant along Seattle's Aurora Avenue, according to business owners in the area, and the sex work is exposing their stores and customers to all kinds of related crimes.
Dutton Clarke, who owns Stereo Warehouse, said sex workers are outside his business nearly every day, and he rarely sees any enforcement by Seattle police. On Wednesday night, Clarke will be making a presentation to the North Precinct Advisory Council, a community-based crime prevention group, and Capt. Lori Aagard is scheduled to attend.

Prostitution being illegal, without enforcement leads to worse issues. Legalize it, so you can enforce major crimes associated with it. That way these workers are not afraid to call the police, when stuff goes wrong.

A lot of countries allow prostitution in specific areas. I see a lot of sexual dysfunction in the U.S. and having a place where men can get laid will no doubt reduce mental health issues. The media promotes a certain physical appearance and those that dont fit that appearance dont get laid. This would offer them a chance at human contact and to have that sexual release necessary for good mental health.

I really don't understand why prostitution is illegal. It's called the world's oldest profession for a reason. Does anyone honestly think that by making it illegal it will stop? Its nothing but a waste of time and money to ban it. The smarter choice is to permit legal brothels like they do in Nevada. That way it could be safer for the sex workers and the men, including health checks. By prohibiting it, you are actually causing more harm than good.

Same thing here in the city I live in. The city enforces it in the worst hit areas and it simply moves to another part of the city. Back in the early 80's when I was in college I met a local call girl at a frat party where she had come to work. Curious I asked her about what she did and found her easy to talk to and very interesting. Several weeks later I saw her in the student union and we talked some more. I brokered a deal to meet with her once a week for a few hours just to fool around and have some fun. She liked the idea because it took the pressure off of her from being arrested, which had happened to her several times already, because I was a know and had my own place. She would show up at a regular time and day ready to go. For me it was great because we had discussed the menu of options upfront so there were no surprises. It was $100 a meeting which was a very discounted price then afterwards I would take her out for dinner. Win-win. Like Charlie Harper of "Two and a Half Men" would always say: "It's cheaper than having a girlfriend or being married". The sad thing is after about two years of our meeting, one day she never showed up and that was it. I looked for her but she had just disappeared.

Legalization worked wonders for pot, at least on the consumer end. The dispensaries and growers are getting screwed by not having banking support though. Unfortunately, the black market is always more profitable for the producers. Without federal legalization and reasonable regulation, there's too much incentive to take business to places where risk justifies high prices. The grey market that marijuana exists in is silly. Having a widespread grey market for sex work could be devastating to the workers by leading to further exploitation. They may start legit and end up in a high-risk area where outlaws run things to try and make better money.
alternately, realize that legalizing things like weed and hookers are pretty detrimental to society in general, and upholding some moral standards is preferable to just allowing degeneracy to rot our empire from within. legalizing everything is taking the easy way out. for government to profit from it is fairly reprehensible. to support it is pretty 'liberal.'

First of all there are so many woman in the dating market today who have ridiculously high body counts already that they might as well be prostitutes and one can easily get a disease from one of them as well. Second of all the dating market today is nuts. You could hardly even call it dating, most women have ridiculously high unchecked egos and standards when it comes to men (while offering very little themselves) that it pretty much eliminates the vast majority of men (studies have shown that 80-90% of women only chase the top 10-20% of men). Not only that, but look at the divorce rate and who initiates the vast majority of them, gets the kids and the house. When you look at all those factors it shouldn't be hard to see why there is a large percentage of men who would be willing to have sex with a prostitute. A mans gotta get his rocks off somehow. Extreme sexual deprivation is bad for mental health.

Maybe not in the last couple of years but the agencies (ie, pimps) used stand on the strip and hand you little cards with the picture and phone number for their escorts that could "be in your room in an hour". They also went so far as to adversite on billboards on the top of taxis. And this wasn't decades ago, this was just in 2016-2018. The girls would also approach you in casinos (I got approached by one of them) although I think this has stopped because casinos kick them out. If you think street prostitution doesn't happen in Vegas because NV has brothels you are incorrect.

The police don’t care‼️ on most crimes anyway. When my son went missing back in 2008, I talked with the detective handling his case. I asked him to drive to my parents house and talk with my dad and look around. He didn’t. I feel as if he looked up my son and saw he had a long list of charges and decided that my son was just a punk and he didn’t take any time to drive out there and look around. Had he taken that step, they would have found him. But they didn’t and 11 months later his remains were found. I’m all in for the men in blue, but I have NO CONFIDENCE in the north precinct at all. They can’t be bothered to do the right thing🤬
