No matter how many times I see the train, the Sunrise Express always impresses me. Such an amazing train, that I want to take myself one day. Also, no matter how many times I see that yummy bento box, I tell myself "I could live off those" lol the beef tongue and rice looked very yummy as always, and made my mouth water. The night views of going through the city is amazing in the dark. I think I'd end up staying awake just to see it all, and sleep very little! Thank you for another wonderful and amazing video, it calmed my anxiety so much after a very bad and very anxious day. Stay safe and wonderful, in your travels, dear friend and see you soon!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad the video could bring you some comfort. The Sunrise Express and that delicious bento are indeed highlights. Looking forward to sharing more adventures with you. Take care and see you soon!
lol I showed this to my mom, and she was like, "...Why not just take a shower before getting in the train?" I told her it's a 12 hour ride, but she didn't care. 😂
I very much enjoyed "taking" the Sunrise Express to Izumo station thanks to your video. I would like to visit Tottori prefecture one day, especially for the sand museum. When I do so, I will definitely consider taking this train.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the journey through the video! Tottori is amazing, and the Sand Museum is a must-see. Hope you get to take the Sunrise Express someday!

That image of the Nozomi at night is marvellous!!!
I enjoy long distance rail travel too although I find it so calming and relaxing that I find it difficult to stay awake!! Thank you for the wonderful video, such a pleasure to share in your journeys.
Thank you for your lovely comment! I'm glad to hear you find rail travel as calming as I do. It's wonderful to share these experiences with you. Happy travels!
Hey thanks for this amazing video!! I have no words to say about the travel comfort and beautiness of Japan!! It is a small request, for the next video would you go to some country side in Japan and explore there!!!
Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled you enjoyed it. Exploring the countryside sounds like a great idea for the next video. I'll definitely consider it!
I was waiting for that shower card in the amenities bag. 😂 I saw another traveler do the same thing. Don’t worry though, I believe the card you bought will work on a future trip. Don’t worry- you’ll hit 1 million one day. ✌🏼
Haha, that shower card was quite the anticipation! Glad to know I'm not the only one. Thanks for the encouragement, I’m sure it will come in handy on a future journey. Here's to reaching that million! ✌🏼
😂lol Puerto Rico would like to chime in here as well 🙋♀️ I personally don't like spam at all.. but spam or hot dogs, rice n eggs is very popular in PR..a lot of times the spam is diced , fried n then added to yellow rice dishes..I just prefer to use real ham though.
Your videos are so fascinating and show a lot of beautiful areas of Japan a lot of other major UA-cam channels do not feature. You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful country! My friend and I live in Sydney, Australia. I drive a Honda N-ONE and he has a Honda N-BOX Custom he just bought this week so if you are ever curious about Australia but get homesick along the way, we'd me more than happy to help you out! 😸
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoy the videos. Your Honda collection sounds amazing! I’d love to explore Australia someday, and it’s so kind of you to offer your help. Greetings from Japan!
Well, to be honest: I sneak around your channel and I‘m loving it. It‘s like to be on holidays w/o leaving home. THX for having me on board and pls keep the good work up 👍
Your channel is a favorite and always glad to see new episodes. I've gone back and enjoyed all your previous videos and hopefully make a trip to Japan and hope many rides on the trains and visit some of the sights you've shared. Great work on your presentations of each area and sharing the history. I have no doubt you'll make 1M+ subscribers.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! I'm thrilled to hear you've enjoyed the videos and are planning a trip. I hope you have a fantastic time in Japan exploring all the places from the videos. Your encouragement means a lot!
A lovely video. It's late at night here in New Hampshire, and the train bed looked very good! Also the bento box! I often eat with chopsticks because it's good to challenge your brain and dexterity by figuring out and doing unfamiliar tasks (I think, anyway). Eating rice - even from Asian restaurants-is often problematic, because it's not sticky. I love a nice sticky rice... Off to bed, to dream of eating rice with chopsticks while sitting on a cozy train bed... Thank you. Until next time, be well and happy!
Thank you for sharing your nighttime thoughts with us! I’m glad the train bed and the bento caught your eye. I agree, using chopsticks can be a fun challenge! Take care and dream sweetly of sticky rice.
Great trip. It's been a while since your last trip taking Sunrise Express. My man got two shower cards by accident. Overall great room and great amenities for first class passengers
Thanks for your kind words! The self-warming bento box really is a neat invention. I’m glad you enjoyed the journey, and don’t worry, I had great company!
Not going to lie, I’m always watching to see if I can find a glimpse of what you look like in all the reflections. Lol you do a great job of editing. And as far as Japan goes, everyone seems so respectful and courteous to one another. Something we lack over here. Lol someday I hope you do a video to introduce yourself. Your background and what led you to do these types of awesome videos.
Your humor is always on point in these videos! It's cool that I can giggle at something and not a word is spoken! It's also endearing that you always pick up a sweet treat! Thanks for sharing all the different snacks! Sorry that Spam rice ball didn't work out 😂
This Train Is So Magnificent Because I wanted to visit Japan someday and ride that beautiful train complete with sleeper cars and everything in between here .
I’m glad you liked the train! It really is magnificent, and I hope you get the chance to visit Japan someday and experience the sleeper cars and all the comforts in between.
Your videos are always so tranquil I love them. Though they always make me hungry or at least peckish when I see the food you buy. Thank you for sharing your travels with us ❤
Thanks for another amazing video! I actually laughed & got sad at the same time , looking at you sitting so quietly , “& not one single person waved back” awww. The “blue meth” was hysterical. And you getting frustrated over the 2 shower cards lol You could have used both , and taken a 12 minute shower. 😂
I love when you show us beautiful things through your eyes. The lake that view of the red bridge and the blue sky with some clouds. Their beautiful all of them. If I been there I would wave back and smile.I honestly wish I could get my hands on a benton box, they look good and the way you eat them up they have to be good. When you got first class did they not tell you shower card came with first class.😅😅 . There is so much about Japan that I love now but so so much I don't know. Always waiting until the next. Hurry!!!😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm so glad you enjoy the views I share! It's always wonderful to know that the beauty resonates with you. And yes, the benton box is as delicious as it looks! Haha, I was surprised about the shower card too! 😅 There's always more to learn and love about Japan, isn't there? I'm hurrying with the next video, stay tuned! 😊❤️
I actually have watched the entirety of the journey from Tokyo to Izumo that someone recorded and uploaded to UA-cam. It's fantastic as background noise and also as an actual movie to see just how diverse Japan really is between the big lights and hustle and bustle of Kanto Region, and the relative sparseness of population and buildings, and the more rustic, more natural scenery of San'in Region. Of course, it's mostly night time when the train runs, so there isn't exactly much to see or write about, and especially between the major cities along the route, but I see the value this train has in getting people to explore places that are a lot slower-paced than the major cities, and enjoy the time they spend in parts of the country where life is a lot simpler. And the fact that the focus is mainly on getting to the destination, with the scenery being a bonus, truly adds to the experience. It's a lot different to, say, Australia, where the main focus of the east-west "Indian Pacific" and the north-south "Ghan" is to enjoy the ride, more than being just a means of travelling and focussing on the destination. That's mainly why even the cheapest ticket is $3,290 (roughly ¥337K). There's a separated space where you can lie down and sleep, with your own door, much like the solo cabins in the Sunrise Express. There are, of course, more luxurious options, such as having a whole room to yourself, much like what you've presented here. There aren't any "nobi nobi"-style cars with just a space with a curtain to sleep in (which is partially a good thing because then you don't have to worry about other people's snoring bothering you 😃, but it's also partially a bad thing because it means ordinary Australians can't even leave their state no matter how much they want to 😭 Everything is focussed on the pleasure of the ride, and not the excitement of reaching that destination. A "nobi nobi"-type car would be frowned upon immensely. It just looks like you're too much of a bum to afford some self-dignity - which I feel is completely NOT how the Japanese feel when it comes to travel is such arrangements, as long as you don't have a foul odour).
A more reasonable comparison would be the train between Sydney and Melbourne, which is roughly the same as the Sunrise Express in terms of distance and duration. There are the options of: - Economy: one seat on which you can recline back up to 28°, for $117 (¥12,000) - First Class seat: one seat on which you can recline back up to 40°, for $164 (¥16,800) -Sleeper: a bed, with access to a shower (which seat ticket-holders do not have the luxury of accessing), and a complimentary breakfast, for $271 (¥27,800).
😂😂😂😂😂😂. OMG. There was already a shower card in the amenity bag. Well, you can keep it for a souvenir. Thank you for taking us with you on your journey.
Honestly, if i ever visit Japan, i feel i’ll have hard time sleeping at all. I’ll be too excited and eager to explore places😅 It’ll be akin to starting a new video game, I just wanna see stuff 😂😂😂😂
Those automatic warming meals are so amazing! I dont know of anything like that in the states. Of course you can order them from Amazon etc but they are REALLY expensive.
17:55 ahh man, the warming process is so cool. just from pulling a string & activating it side note, i need to learn to use chopsticks. i always frustrate myself
This was interesting to watch! Sleeper trains are really useful. I laughed at the spam and rice comment because Hawaii is known for their spam musubi and locals eat spam and rice for breakfast. I personally like it but if I grew up on delicious fillings for rice balls in Japan I would understand lol
I’m glad you found it interesting! Sleeper trains are definitely useful. And yes, spam and rice is a classic in Hawaii! If you grew up with delicious onigiri fillings in Japan, I can see why you'd feel that way lol.
I'm amazed how quiet and smooth the trains are. The Amtrak (passenger trains in the USA) rumbles and sways all the time it's moving. I LOL that you didn't like the SPAM in the onigiri. Hawaiians love SPAM. I'm a mainlander and never learned to like it unless you slice it and fry it really well (almost burnt). What did you do w/ the extra shower card: get a refund, use it the next time, sell it? I would've used it to put 6 minutes more on a shower.
It’s really something how different train experiences can be around the world! As for the SPAM, tastes certainly vary. Regarding the shower card, I saved it for next time-always good to be prepared!
I really enjoy trains. I appreciate your videos showing the advanced Japanese trains and the lovely scenery from the windows. I think many people may miss those views because they are watching their phones. Thank you for another interesting video.🥰 Also, is 23 your favorite number?
It's interesting that there's no shortage of electricity on the train, what with a 15A outlet. Makes sense on an electric train 😀 But then also there's only one outlet, which is kinda weird. I do like that the bed is 196cm long, which is the same length as you might find in a regular hotel room.
Good point! The 15A outlet makes sense for an electric train, but having just one is definitely a bit odd. And yeah, the 196cm bed is a nice touch-feels just like a hotel room!
15:58 Haha! The comedy hands strike again - so funny 😂 ...then I felt bad because the shot ended up going back to dwell on the twin card misery 😭 ps Just finished watching the rest of the video and loved it (as usual). Your dry humour and comedy timing suits the subtitles perfectly and you got me chuckling a few times ..!(edit for typo)
Wonderful journey! Thank you. By the way, you cheated with chopsticks when you used your fingers to help get the food!🤣 I guess specialists sometimes need a little help!❤
I'd say hold onto the first class showering card, if the sunrise express stops running you have quite sought after item(if kept in a place where it can't get scratched or fade). Since these things are actually a rare thing because these often get used so a collector might pay good money for it depending on how rare it wil be(note: this is more of an investment thing so it needs to be hidden for a while😉)
The total cost of the ticket and reserved seat ticket was 29,290 yen ($195).
That's not bad at all.
How much India rupees

Thanks for keeping the video silent with no talk or music. Very peaceful to watch.
'No one waved back. This is Japan.' Hit really hard for some reason-
I audibly gasped when you said there was only one vending machine on the train. You're really willing to rough it for us, thank you for your service.
The shower card fiasco was so funny 😂
lol I showed this to my mom, and she was like, "...Why not just take a shower before getting in the train?"

Thank you!
Welcome!
18:28 Thank you for clearing that up. 😆
Amazing
Love your videos and jokes 😂
I would’ve waved back!
18:30 "Not blue meth, but salt".. aww man, Walter white would be sad to know this lol 😂
I hope one day I can move to Japan, from Indonesian ❤
I'd say hold onto the first class showering card, if the sunrise express stops running you have quite sought after item(if kept in a place where it can't get scratched or fade). Since these things are actually a rare thing because these often get used so a collector might pay good money for it depending on how rare it wil be(note: this is more of an investment thing so it needs to be hidden for a while😉)
You get a beautiful view, they gave you a shower card 😅, it's worth it ❤
Yes, the view and the shower card definitely make it worth it! ❤️ Glad you enjoyed it!
