MJ was one of those artists who drew in ALL kinds of people. Among his fans you'd always see all ages and people from all walks of life; people who grew up entirely different, were at different parts and stages of thier life and who would still all be brought together.
It's not often that you get to see a crowd as diverse no matter where you go. And this only increased in diversity over time.

You mentioning the thing about "If Michael calls you at 2 at night, you'll be happy" reminded me of a story Jackie Chan once told in an interview. Because he WAS called my Michael at some point and it was late at night and his... I believe his agent told Michael that Jackie was asleep. And Jackie the next day was all "Why didn't you wake me up?! It was Michael Jackson!"
I vaguely recall a few other people sharing similar stories, but Jackie is the only one whose name I recall for a fact because that was...basically two legends whose work I admire adknowledging each other, haha.

36:29 Again, you can see he's 12 years old. Behind the mask, he's not an adult. He wants to play. It's not complicated to understand.
36:40 "He always looks happy" Like a kid/teen actually.
    36:53 Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
    44:25 Also
    45:10 Also
Just because he works and talks like a professional doesn't mean he's not 12 years old. He's been doing it since that age.

MJ’s vision is just undeniably genius he was destined to be The Greatest Music Artist To Ever Live! Also mind you MJ was already legendary by this point with his own successful solo career and his childhood success being the lead vocalist alongside his brothers in the Jackson 5 MJ by Thriller Era most would’ve hung it up but to think he went another 3 more decades of dominance after this is just incredible!🙌🏽👑💖🌟💯(This was a true cultural emergence that will never be duplicated ever again.)

He is the only artist who is inducted into the dance hall of fame. • @thewild5719

    oh, a few quick things!
    1) Michael actually self-funded the Thriller video! His label didn't want to pay for another video after Billie Jean and Beat it, but he was determined to make it, so he paid $1million to have it made. I *believe* his record label eventually paid for it though.
    2) In order to make up some of the cost, they decided to make the "Making of Thriller" VHS tape that fans could buy, which is what you just watched! I'm not sure if this is true, but I read that this video is actually partly responsible for popularizing people buying movies!
    3) I think it is interesting that you pointed out John Landis being kind of tough on him. Michael has said in many interviews that he likes people who are tough on him, artistically. He really thrives on critical feedback because he wants to be the BEST at EVERYTHING. However, it always makes me a little sad too, because he grew up with an incredibly harsh father who physically and psychologically abused him. There are stories of Joe Jackson watching his sons perform while holding a belt and whipping them if they missed a step or a note. So you can see how Michael would be responsive to critical feedback and have a thick skin for it too. Still, I read a story once where Quincy Jones said he was frustrated with progress toward the end of Thriller so at one point he kind of yelled at Michael. And he said he saw Michael flinch and have this look of real fear and pain flash across his face, before his eyes went kind of vacant. And he said he felt so badly after that, because Michael was so sensitive and he could see he was traumatized by his father, so he made it a goal to never yell at him again. It breaks my heart. Michael was an incredibly strong person. When you know about everything he went through, it really makes his personality even more remarkable!

I don’t know where to start! The work and creativity that went into this was insane!! MJ was fully committed to the role and took it all like the consummate professional his is. Those contact lenses definitely hurt! In the 80’s they were thick and rather rigid. Thank goodness now they are almost paper thin. Younger generations will get an appreciation for what went into a production like this. No green screen. No computer-generated special effects. Thriller is a masterpiece!

The world's best musician and dancer Michael Jackson. His style of dancing and singing music never seems childish. He always sang music in deep voice, so his songs are hit and catchy. Moreover he always wrote teachable music. He was the only person in the world who performed dance-music together in front of live audience. May her soul rest in peace..🇧🇩🎵🎧🇧🇩

John Landis is as much a perfectionist in his profession as Michael is in his. I recommend the rehearsals for Dangerous World Tour and especially the rehearsal for "Workin' Day And Night", where Michael rehearses a certain part over and over again with his dancers until he is satisfied. You get a brief glimpse of how Michael works, or at least you can guess. I find it very fascinating.
