Also, absolutely love the trick of painting the foliage onto the base! This has been my preferred method for a long time. I have a history in 3D modeling for games, where polygon counts are limited and you often have to paint in details, and I think not enough mini painters know how much you can trick the viewer into thinking that a purely painted detail is sculpted onto the base.
Very nice work! These bases are all beautiful 🥰 my question is this: how do you make bases that match the fairly neutral poses that a lot of minis have? I feel like they tend to turn out kinda artificial looking, since there’s a lot of detailed terrain and then two perfectly balanced spots for the feet to sit, haha. Worst case scenario, the terrain doesn’t match the placement of the feet very well and i end up with objects (like that cool fossil cast!) kind of being awkwardly placed between the mini’s feet, making them look like they’ve chosen a strange place to stand and using the kuleshov framing effect against you. How do you still make an interesting base but avoid making the miniature look awkward in their pose? Sorry for the long question! I love your channel and can’t wait to see your future projects 💕
I definitely want to touch on integrating the minis into a base more in the future. What I 've done to avoid weird poses like you describe is to either repose the mini (nothing drastic usually, just tweaking the leg pose helps a ton) when it's a character, or just build around the pose when it's infantry models. Those weird awkward placements are also pretty easy to hide when you use stuff like tufts and little plants !
Could we have a marsh base tutorial? And possibly something more like a snowdrift? If I'm honest one of the things I want to learn is how to combine that kind of thing then into a model but even just the basing itself would be super useful to understand
I like the little red bananas you can get from Chinese groceries.
Oh, and I like your bases.
Your videos feel like homemade pancakes on Saturday morning
Was needing some basing inspiration for a new project and this was it! Those frostgrave and seaside bases are way cool.
Those frostgrave bases were exactly what I've been looking for!!!
came for the cat, stayed for the cat. Cat channel now.

Incredible! I loved the coastal base and will have to borrow elements from it for some nautical AoS stuff i have planned.
finally got around to watch this video! I loooooove sculpted bases, and yours look amazing! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
These are some great bases! I love the variety here, and none of them are ordinary. Thanks for the helpful tips!
Those are sweet!!! (Both the bases, and banana-based desserts!) 😆

Noë your way of saying milliput has become my favorite way of saying it, EVER. Also, what is your cats name?
