Nate ! That's very similar to the one I have, I added a digital head and angle stop with micro adjustment for the manual head. I can give you some tips, watch out for clogging on your disc, steady drip rather than flow, make sure there is no movement on your dop that will demoralise you when faceting, invest in a good transfer jig . Good luck buddy and most importantly have fun.
I love those free forms that you made. Very unique and arty. May you have so much fun with your new toy and keep on inspiring us with the awesome details.
thank you, I actually kinda like the way they turned out, but when watching other crafters I know I have a long way to go, but the machine will be great to learn on, thanks for checking it out !!
Congrats Nate on the Vevor Faceting machine adventure. This is going to open up so many new avenue's for you and I'm really excited to watch your new quest unfold!.
I'm so excited for you!! You are going to have so much fun with that. Of course, you already created some beautiful pieces. You pluck away on it. Can't wait to see all the awesome things you create. 😘💞💓💖
Wow! That really is a game changer! Once you get other discswith the orher grits you will be able to do more with it as a flat lap. But as a faceting machine you reallly have all that you need other than the different dop sticks you need for faceting. And your free form facets are lovely! Your cab turned out beautiful too! That is going to be so much fun! Your ability to do things with stones and make things has truly just opened up, all new worlds for you! Thanks Nate, for showing us your new toy and what it can do! Its really awesome!❤️ Quest on!
thank you for checking out the first try on the new machine ! I'm going to have to learn a lot but just playing around had such fun results I'm excited to try all the different stones ive found! going to be a bunch of time spent with this toy for sure !
Hello Nate, it’s been a while since I have been able to watch your videos, December & January have been a bit full but settled down a bit now. I’m a bit behind with your videos so I will be trying to catch up over the next week or so. I enjoyed the video and your new toy is pretty cool. The cab and your first three gems came out very nicely. I will be personally interested if you get to work on one of your lake county diamonds.
its way more easy than I thought it would be , and quiet , finally something I can work with any time and doesn't disturb others with crazy loud noise. thanks for checking it out !!
So excited to see opportunities... You know this is a game changer.. and fyi the water supply and collection container is too small.. I will send pictures of modifications.
@@rebeccaofsunnybrookefarm8469 thank you 🙂. the amount that this machine uses is actually very minimal , equivalent to an old drip can so barely used 1/10 of the water on all of this project and left it running often. maybe half gallon for whole thing. just trying to show how simple it can be, my drains go to my trees as part of my grey water system and I have water supply for the shop, but the flow is so low any bucket will work for a beginner set up.
Cool video - I like your rapid experimentation, it's my preferred way to learn then go deeper over time if I like it. The other videos on this machine are way too critical and overly complicated for me. Thank you!
Real nice, I have been looking at one of these and I have questions. What size hole is in the lap disk? What diameter are the dops? I already have lots of accessories and need to know if they will fit this machine. Have you tried to get any more index wheels? Parts?
I bought the same machine, your going to find allot of issues with it, nothing is machined level or perpendicular to each other so it is full of inaccuracy. The angle scale is pretty useless I bought a digital one off ebay to replace it, the depth gauge I found had to be installed up-side down to work the numbers will be upside down but you will be able to adjust the depth and the set screw will clear the arm. There is allot of play in the two sleeves and the fine angle adjustment allows the arm to lift up so I made a sleeve with a stem on it so I can wrap a rubber band around it and the dop arm so it pulls down on the arm. I also made a sleeve for under the degree wheel to lift it off the stop so I can spin the dop 180 degrees freely for faceting the girdle. I found the collar on the motor was not machined level so the disc will bounce also the table and tower base are not level to each other the table is actually concave which tipped the tower off 90 degrees, All that being said I believe with a little effort it can be fixed to where you can cut a stone fairly accurate.
Great video / setup tutorial - I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but I just got this machine as well and was curious what do we use the manipulator for? I noticed you didn't use the manipulator just the 600 grit disc. Thank you!
Im trying to find videos on using a FaceTing machine for just regular rock polishing rather than tumbling, is this possible? I think it is but I can’t find any information!
I believe there are other epoxies and glues you can buy but the dob sticks are cheap and work well, they can be ordered on line or found at lapidary/rock shops.
Can you please tell me what you are polishing your stone you did on the Vevor gem grinding and polishing ,,,what do you on your polishing wheel and were did you get your polishing machine It looked like you had blue polish on the cloth wheel
It's a cotton buffing wheel, on an old bench grinder, the wheel will fit on any machine and is reasonably cheap and I'm just using green tinted polishing compound that I rub on the wheel, a highspeed rotary tool with buffing attachment will work also. @worldofrockhounds channel he does a lot of expert level polishing also, might want to check it out for more tips. Hope this helps!
@@QuestForDetails thanks so much for sharing i also have the vevor faceing machene so I’m going to be looking for tips of how to use it and cant wait. To see what you will be doing on it , btw Is the polishing compound like a car polishing compound , or special stuff for rocks lol does it have a name ,,, thanks again
Nate, how fun! Looking forward to seeing all your future creations!!!
for sure ! thanks for checking out the first try !!
WOW! This has multiplied your quest for details Nate! I'm excited for you!

Have fun! I hope you enjoy it ! we can learn together !
That is awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't wait to see you do a Lake county diamond on there.

@@QuestForDetails yep for sure.

Happy to see you already knew the resivor was too small and made modifications... I'm so excited
going to be sorting all my gemstones to cut !! supper excited! lots to learn !!
@@QuestForDetails I need to bring my diamond Pacific genie out when I visit.
You'd love it
The radioactive glass gem would be awesome in a ring for sure!
And congrats on the new machine... how exciting!!!
Might I suggest a decent book on faceting as that is primarily what this machine is designed to do.
Great video, thanks for making it. I have subscribed. Btw the cab came out really nice. It was a pleasant surprise.😊

Nice 🤘
That part you called a table us the master lap. Lol
very enjoyable
Awesome vid!
❤❤❤
Very cool. I want one. Why is it rusting on the top though?
Not stainless steel washers, I'm still testing mine to see how it performs and lasts, I'm a total beginner with faceting, so long ways to go.

I would suggest you get some rougher grits, 80,180,220,400

And would you use the same resin for the metal arm it comes with?
How do you put the hem on the measuring lever so you don’t need the black stuff

There are many types of polish for gems, from very fine diamond powder to chrome oxide, cerium oxide, aluminum oxide, etc.

What size saw are you using?
What resin do you use?
Tôimuônmuabômaydògiatiênviêtnamlàbaonhieu?
Problem with that machine is repeatability
