This was so helpful! My 2014 trax started running a little off. When i start to accelerate, it sputters like it's running out a gas and makes a rattling sound. I thought maybe it would be the fuel filter, but maybe it's both. I did run a diagnostic test on it, and so many codes came up in terrified to take it in and have it looked at.
I had the same issue and a PCV valve go bad on a 2016 Cruze with the same engine as shown here. I'm starting to think that the only people that should buy a Chevy are auto mechanics. I'm not impressed with their designs or quality . Thanks for a great video and good review of the diagnostic tool.
I bought a Chevy Cobalt Coupe brand new in 2006, Got about 10 min from the dealership, The coolent hose let go and engine overheated because it was missing a clamp... good to see after all these years that GM quality control has improved lol
For future reference.... I have a 2011 cruze lt 1.4 turbo and I just found my alternator overcharging which caused my purge canister to go bad as well as my catalytic converter!! I know it doesn't make sense but if you get in the forum, you will find many more cases. The 1.4 turbo is the engine from hell!!
Listening to that engine made me wonder whether GM repurposed old Singer sewing machines for their engines. Then I thought, naa, GM motors aren’t that reliable..... Enjoyed the video sir.
Must have bin a Monday or Friday made for the hose clamp not installed right .... lol Ahhh just leave it let it burn ..... you're funny , but on that note as a young lad before have some knowledge took my 68 merc in for not starting and turned to be bad battery it was nice of the tek to leave me a nice pair of battery pliers , but under the new battery rubbing a hole in the bottom of said new bat . to be returned for free bat. and labour .... lol
Does the engine light have to recalibrate when a car My 2015 Chevy Trax is over 100,000 miles? It is in the shop and that what they saying that is needed. It is showing code to replace the catalytic converter. They said more then likely the engine light is give a false code. They stated cost less to try this first. Please respond back.
Egr purge valve 🤔 just a guess from my history with chevy traverse and other chevy products. Its a pleasure fuel system. Caused by filling your car is ok. But once it stops you need to stop putting fuel in your gas tank. If you try top it off or even the price. Usually shortens the life of the valve. Sadly it causes all types of messages so you can't trust the scanner ot you be lost in a chase. I go with higher quality one from the parts store. I don't buy chevys or the lowest price one at the parts store. Less issues over time so far. Last time I believe it was around 50 or 60 and 2 minutes of time.
I went to Jack in the Box in Fort Worth Tx and ordered a jumbo Jack and was informed they had no burgers only chicken sandwich’s , ridiculous what corrupt officials have done to us
@@ThecardoctorTV We have problems with the local dealer .. because these cars are transported from the USA and in Europe there are problems with spare parts for cars imported from the USA. we have different spare parts for cars for the USA and for Europe. therefore we need this spare part number .. 🤝if it possible..
Same cars but different parts..for USA 1.4 turbo.for Europe 1.8 naturally aspirated engine.. different head light and many other difference ,but car the same Chevy Trax..

Hello? On my Trax, the po171 code is for the diafrham on the valve cover has gone bad. You will have to change out the valve cover. Have a great day.
I believe Ford has a special service adjustment and free repairs on this but youll need to check with your local dealer to verify.
