Comparing to the one waffle I had there with 4 other places I've eaten waffles at, it's number one. What I don't like is when surveys say best Waffles or whatever food in the world, U.S. or a state as it would be almost impossible if not impossible for one person to do that. I also have doubts about surveys because I don't believe that a group of people surveyed have tasted a certain type of food at every place in the U.S. or even in a state that serves that type of food.
I am a waffle house line cook, and we don't actually bain marie (the cooking technique) any of our foods lol, that's just what we call the containers we store the batter in.
@@illudiumq36spacemodulator39 a Bain is bucket in French or sum, even say it at the wafflehouse I work at and others I worked at idk why but the bosses don't like calling them buckets either

I have no freaking clue what that is but it looks like the one I used at a hotel about 6 months ago so I plugged it in and it worked and I bought it for $7. Found a UA-cam video for a Bisquick waffle recipe put it to use and knocked it out of the park. The wife said what do you think these things cost I had no idea so I looked it up and they are about $550. Whoever knocks Goodwill can kiss my Waffle
YUP! Goodwill, Salvation Army, &Savers have so many hidden gems in them. It’s hit or miss, but when you don’t pop in to check they’ll inevitably have something really good&it be gone before you go next rofl
Butter and sugar lol. Lots of both. I have used coffee creamer to make my waffles for years. I’m not surprised. I’m from the south Waffle House is a dime a dozen here. I prefer Cracker Barrel though
Sad to say there are no locations available west of Arizona through California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. What's up? We ain't good enough for your Waffles??
I have had Waffle House's waffles, and they are very good. But I enjoy making my own from scratch waffles even more, and trying out all the different recipes. I make mine in well seasoned vintage cast iron waffle makers for the amazing crispness. So good!
I am so bummed, I wanted to look at this video because I’ve never eaten at a waffle house. Living in Minnesota there are not any in the state. Hence the name of southern tradition. Someday, I hope to get to one. I don’t drive so that might be hard.
I don’t know exactly what the ingredients of the waffle mix is, but I do know they’re malted waffles. So they have malted milk powder(like the carnation malt powder that comes in the canisters, not the breakfast essentials packets). I love malted pancakes&waffles, my dads buddies restaurant I worked at uses Carbon’s Golden Malted Original Pancake&Waffle mix(but we didn’t follow the recipe exactly, added&substituted some ingredients&mixing methods such as separating the egg whites into a bowl to whip them to get it fluffier). You can even make malted batter with premixed stuff by adding the malt powder, if it calls for 2 cups of mix, use about 1 1/2 cups mix to about 1/2 cup malt powder.
If you want eggos, buy eggos. Get a regular waffle maker, not belgian and a good recipe and they are 1000* better than eggos. Yes, you can make them thin- I don't like belgian waffles either. Homemade waffles melt in your mouth where Eggos are more of a late night snack that doesn't even come close to homemade.
I don't know how many times driving late at night for 30+ years that I would seek out and find a Waffle House. I knew no matter where I was I could get a {{great bacon, egg & cheese sandwich}} and fill up my coffee mug for the road. It would be in the high hundreds of times. Always great people both as customers & working to talk with for a few moments. I never thought of trying their T-bone steak. Next time I will have to give it a shot. Shalom
I mean you can see the bacon cooking next to everything on the grill though?? They turn out sooo much sausage and bacon there. If I was concerned about pork fat I think Waffle House would be my last choice. 😅
The secret to Waffle House’s waffles is the sweet cream waffle mix. It is milled exclusively for Waffle House by C.H. Guenther & Son in San Antonio, Texas. Founded in 1851, it is the oldest family-owned mill in the U.S. Located next to the mill in San Antonio, The Guenther House restaurant serves is own exclusive sweet cream waffles which are the best waffles I’ve ever tasted.

I have only eaten at Waffle House one time about 8 years ago. Because an acquaintance insisted I would love it because I was making waffles a lot. I was obsessed with trying nearly every new recipe I came across if I had the ingredients. Well, I must have been there on an off day because I wasn't impressed at all. The only good thing about the experience was the customer service - the guy was very friendly. But the waffles were not good. Limp, pale, and soggy. Butter substitute. No maple syrup and I dint like the syrup. I can't remember if I ate anything else because I was so disappointed in the waffle after so much hype from the acquaintance. Waffles at home were many times better so I think there must be something about the atmosphere that made the acquaintance think I would like the experience. But, I was hyper focused on a great waffle and I should have stayed home where I can have crispy Belgian style waffles with real butter melted and drizzled on top and very delicious pure maple syrup. Or my homemade whipped cream and strawberry compote. I have not been tempted enough or desperate enough to return or try a different location. I got talked out of a batch of yummy homemade waffles and have never forgotten the disappointment.
They don't have real maple syrup, nor real butter. So the waffle may be good, but fails without real maple syrup and butter. Not sorry, we eat at a diner that uses both.
Exactly, that’s why I don’t order pancakes or waffles at restaurants. Real, heated syrup and real butter are a must, the fake goopy syrup and the yellow fluff in the little containers kill any great breakfast. I know real syrup is expensive, I’ll even pay more for it, but you have to have it available!
I agree. No real syrup or butter which could have made those floppy waffles palatable. It was a complete letdown for me the one time I ate there because I was taken there by someone who thought I would like their waffles. Being a waffle addict doesn't mean you will like any and every waffle. I prefer my waffles homemade, crispy,, and with real butter and maple syrup.
Leaving Maryland to go to New York, I stopped at a waffle house because of reputation to order a breakfast to go, so I could eat it while I was going up the turnpike. I got to the register with my container and she gave me the price which was not what was on the menu, when I asked her why she said "we charge extra for carryout" I said you can keep your food and I'll never come back.

As much as I enjoy making my own, Waffle House's waffles are just so special. A lot like IHOP pancakes, it can't be beat.
