I do this to my fine wavy hair and it works wonders to define my texture (since my hair is damaged and needs some assistance with its waves). I find that my waves get even curlier and more defined throughout the day when i do this!! A TIP i have is that when you finish a section, keep that twist in tact and just clip the end of it on your scalp so that the twist is maintained and has time to cool off/set before you take it out. Also if you have super fine hair you can just do two sections of hair and start by twisting at the front baby hairs and keep gathering hair into your twist until you reach the back of your head. Then i like to keep my twists pinned up and cooling while i do my makeup or get dressed!

Funny how something I did that as a kid and teen earned me mockery-twirling my hair around my fingers-is a legitimate styling technique that is actually great for my hair texture, whether I twist it and leave it to air dry or use this awesome quicker process!! Love it, thank you, Jonathan!❤

I have struggled with my hair for longer than I care to advertise. I have fine hair and hyperthyroidism so my hair has never been pretty. Using your suggestions once (!!) changed the way my hair looked. Using your JVN products have changed my confidence. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. ❤
I do this and it’s my favorite. I also sometimes take the twists and pop them up in a jaw clip (kinda like space buns, sorta) and then pull it down, makes it super defined.

Thank you-I’m going to try this. I don’t have as much hair as you do, but it’s almost the same length. It has a wave in it (all silver/white) that’s really pronounced when still wet, but when it’s dry it just doesn’t look good. So this might work! Love you Jonathan!

Surprised that using 2-3- or 4 JVN style products does not weigh down my 74 year old thinning baby fine chin length hair. ❤
My stylist taught me to twist the sections like that while they're damp and let them air dry, but I'm never that patient so they get messed up before they dry. It never occurred to me to blow dry the twists to set the style, duh. 😂 Thank you for another wonderful tutorial!

What can I do to prevent damage? I already use the pre scalp hair oil and the moisturising shampoo and conditioner and I love them so much! 😊

Yes as long as you prep your hair with enough product, and a little hair spray to finish! You can also check out my other beach waves tutorial in the description for a technique that may work better for your hair type.

Can a sleeping bonnet be beneficial for anyone or should you stay away from them if you have a certain kind of hair? I have a very similar hair texture to JVN but im having issues around balding and a pretty sensitive scalp.
Love the hair! I'm going to try this! So how do I know when I should use blow out milk or instant recovery serum. . I just bought your shampoo and conditioner as well as the instant recovery serum! Can't wait to try it!!
The serum is best for heat damaged hair, frizz, or uneven hair porosity and can be a primer for other products - while the blowout milk is designed to create and hold a blowout or wave 😍 I talk a bit more in my layering video! You could use both if your hair is damaged with uneven porosity, or just the blowout milk with a little conditioning mist if your hair is healthier. ❤️ With everything it’s not one size fits all, so best to test and learn!

What kind of home remedies and/or products would you recommend to treat a very dry scalp? I have tried a variety of shampoos, but none of them really help :-( I do have Jojoba oil for my skin, so do you think I should apply this to my scalp as well?

Idk I don't think that would work with my fine curly hair. It dries really fast on its own and if I don't apply hot air and work it with a round brush, I will get a frizzy afro. I normally just add a leave in conditioner spray, gel, and a curl cream all from Aveda. I let it air dry and just fluff it and scrunch it throughout the day until it all dries
