Amazing footage and History.. Thanks.. I had an old neighbor, Joe, that worked on constructions of both the Bridge and Tunnel as a labourer.

Can't explain. The film goes from a half-built Ambassador bridge to construction of a new subdivision in South Windsor then just ends. From what I have been told, this film was not commissioned by the bridge owners at the time and no one knows why it was made or for whom. It was found in an attic in a Detroit home and turned over to the Windsor Archives.

I’ve watched this a bunch of times trying to identify the South Windsor landmarks. At 0:05 is St. Mary’s Academy being built. At 0:33 and again at 4:05 are two houses that still stand on Granada Ave (just off Dougall). At 0:53 may be McGregor Blvd as the camera is driven to what can only be Roseland Golf Course. At 1:48 may be Kennedy Drive West. At 3:06 there is a house in the background which may be the old farmhouse on Cabana at Glenwood that used to stand by the entrance to St. Clair College. I cannot place the houses and school at 3:26.

I recognize the big house on Grand Marias. I was always told this house had been moved, so this footage may show it at its original location.

No one knows exactly why the footage of these houses being built is on the footage. These are all homes being built in the late '20s in what was called Huron Divisions, ie. "South Windsor". The big school being built is St. Mary's Academy (now long gone).

I wonder why the completed bridge isn't shown?
