    I've seen similar schemes. It differs from the classic CDI only by replacing a pair of permanent resistors with a tuning one, which allows you to change the threshold of the thyristor, which means that it becomes possible to adjust the ignition timing angle more accurately. This is better than the standard CDI, but far from ideal...
    And no, this is not a microprocessor ignition, which means there can be no flexible speed adjustment here
    I would like to see transistor ignition (TCI) on the channel
    And please, can you insert ordinary electrical circuits somewhere in the video? I understand that most of the audience of this and other similar channels may not understand electronics, but it hurts me, as an electronics engineer, to look at a wiring diagram without an electrical one

    How to red LED add?

    • @MrWolfDiy
      @MrWolfDiy  19 днів тому +1

      You can achieve this by adding a diode and a resistor to the LED:
      _Connect the positive terminal (anode) of the diode to the positive output wire of the pickup.
      _Connect the negative terminal (cathode) of the diode to the positive leg of the LED.
      _Connect the positive leg of the LED to the resistor output.
      _Connect the negative leg of the LED to the ground (GND) of the circuit.
      A rectifier diode, such as 1N4007, and a resistor between 330 ohms to 1 kOhm would be suitable for this setup.

    • @MrWolfDiy
      @MrWolfDiy  2 місяці тому +2

      Hello and thank you,
      This CDI helps the motorcycle run smoothly at both high and low RPMs and reduces fuel consumption.
      You can use a CDI without a rev limiter, but it is likely that high RPM could damage your motorcycle's components.
      This is because your motorcycle is not designed for high RPM, and high RPM, such as 8000, may cause damage to parts like the valves.
      If you are interested in doing this, you may also need to upgrade some components of the motorcycle and its cooling system.

      There is a DIY solution you can make using ordinary Peroxide from pharmacy (or pretty much any supermarket) plus something else easily available (but I forget what 🤔)
      I didn't want to spend $30.00 on cupric chloride for an experiment
      I used it to dissolve copper on copper clad board (roughly 10+ years ago) to make super capacitor bank to fit 1974 Honda that needed battery for ignition. It weighed next to nothing (less than 5 ounces) compared to about 12lbs for battery
      I used a Sharpie (3~4 'layers') as resist to draw out circuits then removed copper.
      Worked surprisingly well.

      This circuit requires 50-110 volts AC to operate, which is generated by the motorcycle alternator...
      The bridge diode used has a voltage tolerance of 600 volts ac...
      Please note that if you power a DC CDI with AC power, it will definitely burn out...

      @@MrWolfDiyI don't understand whether we need to convert the ac voltage coming from the motorcycle alternator into dc voltage. I didn't give it exactly dc voltage. I fed it with 14.4 volt ac voltage and the bridge diode burned out. I would be very grateful if you could help me with this. I have a Peugeot 103 moped. I want to adapt this circuit to it. We are waiting for your help.
