Just started pulling pallets apart today. Hopefully I'll move on to reclaimed hard woods later. It's amazing how much you can save from something that doesn't look like it has much value. 😊
Man, this is the first time I've encountered your channel, and not even a minute in I had to pause because that line at 0:26 "I just want to make cool shhhhhsstuff, be excellent to each other, and then fade off into obscurity" sent me into a moment of profound existential contemplation of mortality and the fleetingness of our individual existence in the vast timeline of humanity. I haven't gotten to anything about woodwork yet but judging from that, and the piles of timber in your intro that look exactly like the piles of salvaged timber lying around my place, I think I'm gonna like you a lot.
Oh mate, the problems you pointed out... I feel your pain. I've had a few projects like that where you've invested a lot of effort and something is so badly wrong you need to weigh up whether to fix it or scrap it. I urge you to make the call one way or the other and move forward. Best of luck. I always enjoy your efforts and it's inspiring to see what you come up with. I even did a 1 pallet project myself last week!
I finally found some hard wood from pallets where I’m from , can’t even get the nails off the stringers , pallets gets sent back where they used from cause we get everything shipped by plane , I mostly breaking g them up juss gathering wood to use , I need tools to make things easier
More inspiration for someone like me who has yet to dip my toes into making but keeps thinking of doing it 😅. Ive got a handful of tools and will take the plunge soon.
Hi Dainer. I have come to your channel from Jesper's. I've got to be honest, the design and finish of that wood speaks for itself - it's just breathtakingly beautiful and I've very grateful that you took all the time you did to make it and share it. However I came from Jesper because you are a part of a really wholesome and inspiring community and I feel like we need more of that. Love the priority you make out of recycling what you've got. Looking forward to seeing how you'll recycle this "mistake" to help it find it's final form. All the best!
Thanks mate! The community is unreal, find the right people to surround yourself with and away you go. Hopefully I’ll do something with this once the new saw arrives 😉
Love the look of the pallet wood - you find some great wood in your pallets - I've looked in my area and all just pine/soft white stuff, nothing interesting...but in time, I hope to build something out of them....
Another awesome vid! Those zigzags look beautiful! 🤩 I bought a pallet buster the other day, can't wait to get making my own Dainer inspired pallet bricks 😁
Really enjoyed this ty man, nothing like the feeling of turning trash to treasure. The top is absolutely beautiful, I think the alternating good/bad side created a shadow-like effect that makes it look 3 dimensional, unreal.
Hey, you can get all nails out (even headless) drill 2 holes right next to the nail on the long side as deep as the nail. Then insert a nailpunch and move it side to side to make the nail loose. When its loose you can take it out with nose pliers.
Hi mate, wow, I reckon it turned out amazing. Love the pattern, especially when you applied the finish 👌. I reckon it was well worth it. You've done an amazing job as usual. Kudos to your son for helping. Waterfall mitre corner may have won this time......but you are realing in close behind and will surely catch up soon 😂. Love the inspiration by the guy who wants to join wood to buy sour dough bread and the rest of the things his mentioned. Amazing. Cheers from South Africa
I found your channel recently and I gotta say that I really like your work. I'm a woodworker myself although in a little bit of a different spectrum but I think I might give working with pallets a shot. My father has a lot of unused ones from his work so I might be able to make something out of them. I'll be sure to come back and look for tips and tricks. Keep up the good work, brother
Beautiful pattern, doing my eyes in a bit. I was in FNQ recently so I sort of understand how hard it must be in your shed at times. Keep it up. BTW I have followed your recycling tips with nail removal and detection but my detector does not pick up embedded stones. Tiny bits of gravel are not kind to my thicknesser.

One word of caution about salvaging wood. I once took a pallet home from work; it had come carrying a machine from Asia. It was a beautiful deep red wood with great grain figure, so I couldn't wait the get a piece of it onto my lathe. The chips came off quite fine, creating a lot of fine dust. I wasn't wearing a dust mask and my nose soon started running; I expecting it would just be clear fluid, like comes during a allergic response, but it was blood flowing from my nose, quite heavily! It seems that there are some species that can really get you in trouble!
@@dainermade It took me a minute to clear my sinuses, but as soon as the dust was gone, it was over, no lingering effects. I read later there are several species that can induce bleeding like this, but it was a real surprise to find it out first hand and without warning!

I've gotten upwards of 30 pallets and crates of various sizes and types mostly broken down and de-nailed/staples, and other sh!t, and stuffed, around my outdoor shed. I could easily fill a 10' × 16' shed with lumber of various types (Roughly 3.04M × 4.87M shed).. And didn't cost me a dime, except for getting off my arss, something I already needed to do and get moving and doing/accomplishing something. My wife loves the cool stuff I've made her. Now I'm going to start making stuff for sale and get an LLC.!!! It's not solely because of your inspiration mate' but to you've had no small impact on WoodWorking Hobbyist UA-cam watchers and stuff would be selling you short.

Hi Dainer. Where do you get your metal coins from with you logo. Just looking at a logo for my own wood working shop. Regards Grahame ( The Bully Shed )
Hi. It is a lifelong idea to pick up wood working, but I want to start the right way. What is the program that SAM is using to create projects? or maybe anyone could suggest a program to create projects (maybe which could even calculate how much materials will be used (how many planks, how long, etc.)). Thank you.
Mistakes happen. That's how you learn and grow. But I always cringe when people admit critical mistakes then proceed to sell their work for a few thousand dollars. I appreciated your repurposed outfeed table idea.
Love this man. Also, unrelated, but not: I just want to take a moment and thank you for not succumbing to the "clickbait title" trend. You are a champion, and I really appreciate you and your work.
It has actually been a trend dating back to early journalism - just sensationalized/misleading titles to trigger people’s curiosity. Like ‘Every car owner should do THIS if they’re smart’ or ‘I don’t know why more people aren’t doing THIS’. When I go to UA-cam, I like to curate my own experience. When people are vague about what they’re posting just to get me to watch… just feels dishonest. There are plenty of hugely popular folks out there that just do what they do. Doesn’t happen all at once. You have a great vibe and will definitely find more and more success without gimmicks. Cheers

Hey mate been meaning ask what hand metal dedector do you use or recommend?
Hi Dainer. Where do you get your metal coins from with you logo. Just looking at a logo for my own wood working shop. Regards Grahame ( The Bully Shed )
Great vid!
@@dainermade I loved it!
Hi. It is a lifelong idea to pick up wood working, but I want to start the right way. What is the program that SAM is using to create projects? or maybe anyone could suggest a program to create projects (maybe which could even calculate how much materials will be used (how many planks, how long, etc.)). Thank you.
Thank you. Have a great day @@dainermade
Mistakes happen. That's how you learn and grow. But I always cringe when people admit critical mistakes then proceed to sell their work for a few thousand dollars. I appreciated your repurposed outfeed table idea.
don't be hard on yourself mate the time alone it took to prepare the timber and put together shows fanatical level of dedication
Cheers
Nice one Dainsey
Hey mate, do you know what wood epal and cheap pallets are usually made of?
@@dainermade yep understood 😊 been offered two that were pulled out of a skip. Thanks for the reply - just make my first pallet wood project after your videos inspired me 😊
Awesome as always
