I think training your pine to go over the pond would look really cool. I’m really jealous your yard is gorgeous! Looks like a lot of work. A work of love!
Wow Brian!!!!😮😍 Your yard is gorgeous!!!! I wouldn’t cut back the weeping scotch pine. It has such a beautiful shape. Prop up the branch over the water with a stake. You won’t see the stake. This will hold it up off the water to allow the view you want. You’ve done a wonderful job. Such a huge variety of plants. Amazing!!!!!
I just planted a weeping European larch next to our pond and I’m in love with it. We live in a new build so everything i have planted it still very young but can’t wait to watch it grow and mature. we are zone 5b by the way.
I got to watch part 2 tonight was great I am glad you did a second part. I live in Toledo and have got the green light from the wife to spend extra money on heavy land scaping the new pond area. So I might have to use some of the same kind of plants you have. I get most of my plants now from William Trickers catalog, love that place. They have Trickers victories seen the bloom one year size of a basket ball does Aqualand have mail order catalogs for plants ? or at least a webpage to order from?
I am definitely curious on the Maintenance coming up I am sure a lot of those plants and trees drop a lot of brush in the pond and waterfall I can imagine the upkeep from all the Foliage
That scotch pine would look great with a bamboo crutch under the limb like what you see in japan. I really love your choice of plants. Your pond plants give off a Japanese pond garden vibe. So awesome! God bless
Good afternoon Brian hope your having an amazing day. Wow love it Brian its still spectacular and of course it is you designed it and anything you design is incredible. Love your pond and landscaping. Have an amazing day ill see u next video like always
I like the scotch pine as it is. Those tulips are beautiful. Those tulips are they under the sakura tree? That tree with pink flowers. However thank youuu for sharing your backyard. It is gorgeous 😍😍😍
Can you do a full layout of your yard. I sort of saw the neighbors yard in one of the shots and they were pretty much yard. I would love to see the overall layout of your back yard to help me decide what to do with the almost .3 acres in my back yard. I have ideas but it would be helpful to see your overall layout. Thanks
Was going to add the same comment. Brian's yard is laid out so well that it feels like it just goes forever. Would love to see the whole thing in plan view. Would also love to learn more about how the berm for the waterfall was constructed since that falls is massive.
That weeping scotch pine, I think u need to cut the bottom limb like u were talking about but leave the limbs that were above that bottom one and train them to come over the pond cause then u get the best of both worlds, it goes over the stream like u wanted but also opens up the bottom area like u wanted.
Love your yard. I had the tigers eye sumac. It can be very invasive. With regard to your weeping scotch pine , if it is anything like my weeping white pine. If you let it grow over your water it will shed it's needles and cones into the water. If that is not a concern for you, it would look really nice.
JMO you problably already made a decision but on the weeping scotch pine cut lower branch for line of sight and train higher branches to make tunnel over water way. Eventually it will fill and give another area hidden area to encourage curiosity and make space look bigger in the end. Beautiful land scape and aquascape!!!!
Looks awesome, Brian! Is there any concern with the tree species you show related to their proximity to the pond? Should certain species be kept further away to prevent root damage to the liner?
Awesome plant tours, I think it is a tough call on the pine, I would try to train it first and see how it looks :). I did notice you did not have any Iris, is that because you don't get enough sunlight around your pond area?
Brian, great video. I learned about a few new plants. Thanks I would love to learn more about how to grow plants directly into the pond. (ie Hosta). You spoke about it in a video with Laura from Garden Answer on how you wrap the roots in a piece of liner. I would love it if you did a video focusing on plants to place in the water itself. Thanks in advance.
Brian, we have a koi pond, live in Huntington Beach, Ca. Last week our Koi were all missing!! We think a pelican may have come in and eaten them. Do you have any problems with critters bothering your Koi? BTW, love your backyard!!! Wish you lived next door!
I have a spring fed natural pond in Texas. Muddy, mucky, stagnant etc. About 50ft x 50ft, not sure how deep because the water is muddy. I want to fix it up and turn it into a really nice clear water pond with fish etc. What plants would be best to get things going in the right direction?
Think bonsai train the bare limb to bend inward up and over the height of the viewer so your looking through similar to a tunnel . Your view of mystery right? well whats cooler than looking into a tunnel.
Again not enouth "plant" information. Too much FACE time on both videos, no need to focus on your chops while you are cruising way too fast by the way around your yard. Hard to see anything when you zoom by it. Not a fan, not a follower.

It’s so much fun getting new plant ideas from watching different gardens. Without this, I wouldn’t know half these plants existed. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the walk through Brian!
Brian's Pond and Property are Incredible!!!
Thanks for the Tour.......
Brian - you have the ultimate pond! I've watched your "Brian's Pond" video like 20 times. A real inspiration!!
That backyard💖💖💖💖💖
Awesome backyard, Sir!
Cheers 🍻 lovely garden and pond. Thank you for the inspiration 🍻
Brilliant content Brian, thanks for sharing 💚🌍
4:43 love to see a follow-up on what you did with the weeping willow.
Awesome yard for sure. I love evergreens
Wow Brian!!!!😮😍

Beautiful landscaping around your great pond.
I love the horsetail falls in your backyard, reminds me of an oriental garden, which is why I would like!
Saved your post so I can live vicariously through you, lol. Awesome paradise.

Gorgeous backyard and pond! The Nannyberry tree is one of my favorite trees ever 😍

Would love an update this year!!!

Your yard/pond looks awesome Brian 👍👍👍
Thanks!
Thank you Brian, great help.👍 1 question !! are any of the trees or bushes over your pond, poisonous to the fish, ( i.e the red berry's )
Beautiful
I keep telling Danny that we need more evergreens in our yard along the back fence. I love having special species too!
I would like to see pitcher plants. Also creeping jenny does bloom. Flowers almost match the leavea. Liked.
I like your evergreen tunnel!

This is MY concern too!!! Following! Thx
Could we see more photos of the mower? Great video ☺️!!
That was fun 🤩 how big is your yard!
You have as many different trees and plants as some nurseries. 👍🏻
Awesome plant tours, I think it is a tough call on the pine, I would try to train it first and see how it looks :). I did notice you did not have any Iris, is that because you don't get enough sunlight around your pond area?
Awesome backyard Brian. When's the first bbq. You can give me a personal tour. Lol.
Let that pine grow!
Great video! But where is the 'next week' plants video Brian?
Great video. Great information. Which of those plants would grow in gravel in the wetland filter?
Good video.
❤️❤️❤️ Well done, Brian!!! 👍 👍 👍
Brian, great video. I learned about a few new plants. Thanks

😍😍😍
I am a 16yr boy right now. I just wanted to ask The Pond Guy whether Aquascape Inc. can do a huge pond in India 🇮🇳 after 10yrs?
I love the redbuds
I think you mentioned you're in Chicagoland. What do you do with your Koi in the Illinois Winter?
You need to add a "Miss Grace "Dawn redwood in a big pot sitting partially submerged on the side of your pond..
What's some good plants to plant behind a waterfall and around it in SC
what was the big maroon tree in the back?
I would cut the whipping scotch pine back to open it up, mystery is one thing but I think you should open it up to show the rest of your pond!
MORE MORE MORE plant videos :)
Brian, we have a koi pond, live in Huntington Beach, Ca. Last week our Koi were all missing!! We think a pelican may have come in and eaten them. Do you have any problems with critters bothering your Koi? BTW, love your backyard!!! Wish you lived next door!
@2.46 what is that tree/shrub where Brian just pointed at.. the low long one
Yes cut for view until matures
I have been writing down the names of the plants I liked, now I need to search for them in Australia.

Yes, cut that pine for the view!
Pull that long branch into a better place! A copper guy wire will hide nicely. Thanks for the Videos!
I want to see that Pine tree and the line of sight in 2024! (if you let it grow over)
Cut the branch on the pine
❤️❤️❤️
✌🏼
✌
Just let the pine grow to bridge over, you can always cut it back at any given time.
open it
Nice backyard but I could have used more focus on the pond.
Mmm... train you must. Yoda
😅
I think alium may be toxic to dogs (?) - it's a type of onion.
💯🔥💙👍
Cut the Weeping scotch pine
Don’t cut the pine. Let it grow over.
Don’t cut it back!
