My favorite brand is still Alexandra K and Gunas NYC 🤗 the brand I don’t buy anymore us urban expressions bc the purses - about 4, that I bought are too stiff and the designs look classic but feel flawed to me when I try to open them, one will not open fully - I think it’s a design flaw and the others feel very stiff and just like- I won’t buy them anymore, it’s hard to explain why bc it’s all about how they feel and the functionality of their bags. .. at least the 4 I own.
Amber Ayame thanks for the warning, I don’t own any urban expressions. Yes to Alexandra K, definitely topnotch quality and the materials are inventive. I like Gunas Naomi bags so far and pre-ordered the limited edition koko to see if it has the same quality as Naomi. Thanks for watching!
I bought a bag from urban expressions, and I was not satisfied with it, but when I tried to return it they were going to charge me a pretty hefty restocking fee, so I gave it away to someone I knew who needed a big bag. I will not buy from them again.
I gave up on vegan bags after wasting my money on a specific vegan brand that I experienced their bag ripping and falling apart at the clasp. It turned me off of them. My preference now is to buy secondhand luxury bags.
Girl, these brands should be sponsoring you for sure! If not for you I wouldn't have discovered Angela Roi. Her bags look so pretty, I esp like their "pebbled leather" designs. They just look so soft and luxurious!
Such an interesting video Sis. You are so versed in Vegan handbags and the different brands. They should be paying you for all this information! 🥰 I agree the bag does need to be timeless.
Jenny in real life thanks sis! When I switched to this lifestyle, one of the things I did was to update my bag collection. I used to enjoy designer bags before but I sold all of them and started to build my luxury vegan handbag collection. That’s when I discover various brands and only recently, in the last 3 years, that more and more luxury vegan brands are coming out so that became more than just a personal experience but more so, to guide new vegans who also want to switch their bag collection. You’d be surprised that there’s a niche market for luxury vegan bags and I’m happy to connect with fellow bagaholics like me. Thanks for watching. Let’s ride the bike soon!
I know what you are saying about the Mat and Nat bags. I just bought one that I thought looked so beautiful online at Nordstrom because it had rose gold hardware. The bag looked OK at first when I took it out, so I didn’t return it. I am using it now and upon looking at the bag closely, there is one spot in the front where the stitching is off and the faux leather around it is starting to peel already - and it’s a brand new bag. It has been stored in the dust bag that came with it and stuffed with tissue paper so it’s not anything I did. There are also several areas where the stitching sticks out and I had to trim threads. I used to buy Matt and Nat all the time and they were always great, I don’t know what happened but their bags have definitely taken a dive in quality.
Senreve makes some beautiful vegan bags too, actually the only vegan bags I want to buy from are Stella McCartney, senreve, von Holtzhausen and the kiki line from Elisabetta Franchi mostly because of functionality, the actual design of house vegan leather and actual luxury. I think a high price point has to justify material and house ethos. Elisabetta isn't vegan, but she has an animal ethos.
Yikes! Totally agree with you on all your points. And the JW Pei bags look super strange and fast-fashiony! Wow. I'm loving Samara bags right now (and their new clothing line and anti-planner hehe).
Hello! I am looking for my first handbag, and I've been searching for a vegan sustainable option. For sure, I have heard GUNAS, Stella McCartney, JW PEI, Matt and Nat, etc and absolutely agree with you. It's so hard to find other brands without these popping up at the top of every list and article.
Completely agree with most of this list; however, Stella McCartney is still a go-to brand for me. I love the new styles, I think they are a bit more everyday wearable than the Falabella bag. I love my Falabella bag as well but it’s not structured or low key at all and the chain can get uncomfortable after a long day. I wouldn’t wear it to a pumpkin patch or walking all day in NYC or Paris, but the new styles are more comfortable for extended wear. Plus, I do think the new styles (not all) are quite classic provided you get a neutral color. Oh, if you want to see just how bad Matt & Nat is...check them out on Glassdoor. The owners are apparently horrible to their workers. I bought one backpack from them...never again. And I would add GUNAS to your list. It’s far from timeless and I’m not a huge fan of the look or quality of the items. Loved this review!
RavensJewel - nice to see you again Raven. I enjoy reading different views and experience, thanks for chiming in. I heard about that too with Matt and Nat, sad that their philosophy isn’t translated to their workers
Kathryne it’s really sad. Once I read up on how they treat their people I was shocked. Just horrible. I was done. Plus, I don’t love the look of their bags anyway so I don’t miss them.
RavensJewel - very true, and the use of PVC is another thing. They used to be popular before but with the new market players in luxury vegan, they kind of disappeared in the radar
Kathryne yes! When I first went vegan 5 years ago they were everywhere now I rarely see them. I think their entire business model, from the use of PVC to the treatment of employees have come back to bite them.
Jessica I have several videos on Angela Roi, if you want to add more styles. Try Alexandra K, I have several videos as well. The quality of Alexandra K is amazing
I hope you understand why stores always change the style there are millions of people they are trying to attend to they might lose business doing the same thing
I do. There are companies that constantly change style without consideration of the environmental impact.I don’t support fast fashion. It is bad for the environment and the people they employ which are mostly in 3rd world countries that they pay below minimum wage with horrendous workplace. There are people like me who would rather wear the same thing for years and years to come.

Kathryne ☺️love your channel! I learned of the Alexandra k bag from one of your videos! So thank you 🙏 🥰
Amber Ayame wow, that’s awesome! Waiting for Alexandra K new styles, I’m eyeing the corn leather. What about you?

@@Thefabzillakath I am looking at the 1.6.1 with the Apple leather in dark beige (I think that’s the name of the color). So pretty!
1:30 Matt & Nat
3:55 JW pei
7:15 LaBante
8:43 Stella McCartney

Glamorable thank you! Glad you like Angela Roi!
Thank you for the review. I like Lerisa Paris and Ashoka Paris. I just discovered Angela Roi and I think this would be my next purchase.
I trust your opinions, so I thank you for your honesty always! You look so beautiful too!! ❤
Thanks so much! Truly appreciate your comment

After my last luxury bag purchase (which happened literally the week before the world shut down) I've taken a break from shopping myself 😜
Slashed Beauty good for you ❤️

So sad that the quality of their bags declined. I don’t own any Matt and Nat now. I sold majority in flea markets and donated to goodwill

Do you find Von holthzhausen bags big? I feel like their bags are too oversized for me.
@@Thefabzillakath I think the mini bag is really cute, I like the shopper, but you're right, it's too big
Yikes! Totally agree with you on all your points. And the JW Pei bags look super strange and fast-fashiony! Wow. I'm loving Samara bags right now (and their new clothing line and anti-planner hehe).
Alyssa D. Glad you mentioned Samara. Their quality is good. I had an issue with them last year with shipping but all’s well that ends well

Von Holshauzen is a new favorite brand of mine. Good quality!
Have you ever considered purchasing from Von Holzhausen?
Paulina. I did. I just find their bags too big for me when I look at their models carrying their bag.

i have 6 stellas and only two of them were brand new, i do only plan on shopping secondhand from now on
This was such helpful information *and* I was just about to buy a Matt and Nat bag so thanks for redirecting me💖
Thanks! Their quality has not improved unfortunately
I absolutely love Angela roi and I want to expand my vegan hand bag collection, any suggestions??
