They really wasn't trying to win.when jordan joined the nba select team, they beat him too lol
Yeah because of Jordan is the goat but other instances it's a stain in the nba players to get pushed around by college kids.
That team not only had Jordan but Patrick Ewing
Timmie vs the admiral Robinson. Who would have guessed he would be on the same team.
San Antonio’s GM
Wondering if Admiral recognised Timmy when they met in Alamodome in 1997
BIG FUNDAMENTALS always a Team Player
Do you only have the preliminary games uploaded for this olympics? Nothing of the actual olympic rounds?. And now that i watched the whole game, it was a matter of effort for the dream team, once they matched the select teams effort into the 2nd half, they were able to pull ahead.
Also if it was just an exibition, the intensity was really high. Nice game
Nobody mentioned cla roses shields
Anyone has a list of names about the USA Select? Any famous stars besides Paul and Tim?
It’s crazy how these kids always end up beating up on the NBA superstars!🤯
college then was very heavy with team plays while the nba focused on iso ball
@@sakimtornado not to mention players staying 3 or the full 4 years in college was still the norm and not the exception then also. So these guys were more polished fundamentally and skill wise. At least when compared to the guys jumping to the NBA after 1 or 2 years in college nowadays.
@@Armando_Brown32 that makes sense. discipline over talent.
@@Armando_Brown32great point
One thing for sure- this team and all subsequent USA teams, took it seriously- they put real effort. I'm not saying the original Dream team didn't put any effort, but you can see in those games- saving for lapses- they were just basically having fun- I'd say they were putting more effort in the defensive end that in the offensive end- excepting Barkley.
These matchups are crazy.
what was that competition? The Olimpic game?
Whatever happened to Shea Seals? Dude was a straight up baller. I can only assume injuries.... cause I can't see what else keeps a shooting guard like this from opportunities in the NBA.
Yep knee injury (ACL) derailed his career
Seals played here in the Philippines as an import in 2002.
@@mr.lagman575 yup in San Miguel right?
@@alvincreatives3974 yeah. Lasted around 3 games I believe.
Went to elementary school with Shea Seals, Assistant Head Coach at Tulsa university. Great player, coach and all around man.
Them younguns gave the dream team all they want for a minute...
Where's Jordan? I see Charles and Pippen and malone?
MJ didn't play in '96. Only '84 and '92.
This game changed completely the second Hakeem came in. He completely shut down thier post play.
Its beatiful....
엄청난 텐션이네 와. 이때 던컨이 로빈슨이랑 샤크를 긴장하게 만들었으려나 ㅎㅎ
하프타임까지 분위기 장난 아니었겠는데 ㅋㅋㅋ
why the dream is not in the dream team?
7:05 Wilkens, not wilkins

Wish NBA would do more games like this! Maybe a slightly different format or something
Pierce and Duncan are the only ones that really made it big
Can't forget Croshere played in the 2000 Finals & got a 50 million dollar deal. Billups was MVP of 2004 Finals, too. USA Select team was bananas.
@@fleetwooddeville6716 CROSHERE WAS SPOT UP SNIPER AND HUSTLE POINTS FOR PACERS. HE NEVER BECAME ALLSTAR. THO BILLUPS WON BEST RING AS AN UNDER DOG. DUNCAN AND PIERCE HAS NO RINGS IN CAREER.
1:38:37, "Oh we kill them, they not from the country" Barkley.
There is no dream team without Jordan
Thats It well said Coco Chris
Best player on that court turned out to not even be on the dream team
I would say Pippen is better than Duncan, but I give you that no problem, cause Duncan was a beast.
Stop it Olajuwon is one of the greatest centers of all time possibly top 2
I personally prefer the 1996 team over the 1992 one!
Nah!
Why was there two usa teams?
why is this the dream team III when the first one was in 1992?
Fiba world championships.
Look for 1994 dream team.
Wow. Anthony Parker was ballin..
The back up 5 should have started in my opinion
haha, yes yes, i also agree with you, i would prefer to have penny, scottie, barkley, payton and hakeem as starting lineups. :)))))
Paul Pierce got me here😭
This should have been Shaq's second Olympiad.
One question: Why didn't Phil Jackson ever coach the U.S. team in any of the Olympics after 1992?
Jump balls are no longer used: when two players touch ball simultaneously, alternating possession determines it.
At around 1:26:50 Malone and Stockton start getting in Wright's head. Oblivious coaches for the select team should have made a few substitution but were maybe told not to make the Dream Team look bad on national TV. Clearly, Team Select was not supposed to win and felt it was damaging to the marketing potential if they lost.
Who coached select team?
In 96 your not gunna trade out ANY of those forwards for kemp?
If A.I and Kobe were on the select team as well, they might've won lol
Add also KG
AI just got drafted or he and Ray Allen would of been on this team.
Kobe Bryant was a high-school player.
