EMD FL9 Restored to Operation on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad! 9/29/19

Another unique locomotive is finally in service within the DFW Area! This time, its an EMD FL9 on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. This was my first time filming the GVRR and it sure is a memorable moment! Some TexRail DMU's and the other FL9 (GVRX 2014), are also shown in this video, please enjoy!

Chartreuse Railfanning I’m surprised myself that they’re up and running this quickly, I was expecting them to start operating next year but here they are now! Now GVRR can focus on restoring the 4-6-0 steam locomotive (I’m not sure when it’ll return to service though)

It just keeps getting delayed and delayed, doesn't it? At first we all thought it would be operating again by at least 2018 but now they still aren't done? If they can restore the FL9s in nine months, you'd think that they could get "Puffy" up and running again in a few years, right?

Chartreuse Railfanning yeah, the absence of 2248 is what kept me away from the GVRR for the longest time because I wasn’t interested that just 1 Locomotive (2199) was operational, these FL9’s however changed my liking of the GVRR because it adds diversity for locomotives operating in Texas, hopefully 2248 will come back in 2020

Tracks moved closer to the depot is a bad idea. I would like to see one of those FL9s in a paint scheme similar to the SP bloody nose paint scheme only with red instead of gray and the cream instead of red.

Branyon Heffley I don’t know yet, since they finished restoring both FL9’s (as of 10/5/19) I think they’ll have puffy restored and running by February next year
