I think listening to this everyday from late 2019 - 2021 during the Black Summer bushfires and the COVID period had some kind of profound effect on me. The lead up to and the subsequent 2022 election as well. Whenever this theme is inevitably changed we'll look back on this one for its unique place in a bizarre bit of Australia's history. The part at 3:03 which blends the 2010 theme makes this the best version. Why it isn't used across the country is a mystery.
Such a banger! Can't believe they're getting rid of this to reinstitute their old theme from the 80s (a pefectly good piece of music but just not remotely era appropriate). This theme slaps and is far better suited to the times
@@OffGridInvestor as I say, the old (new) one is a perfectly good piece of music. It just feels deeply out place in 2024, I feel like I'm tuning into an episode of The Newsreader and not the actual news.
As a news junkie from the USA, this version of ABC News from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (not to be confused with ABC News in the US. The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of the ABC Television Network and ABC News), this news theme blows every world newscast out of the water! Great news music!
Have you heard the original?its composed by the Australian symphony orchestra im pretty sure Its bloody epic on its own then pendulum remixed it as a banga
This ending theme music is only heard now from the 9pm ABC News bulletin from Melbourne. All the Sydney and Perth Newsrooms use the standard ending theme
I've heard it in the mid-afternoon broadcasts coming out of Brisbane this week on the ABC News Channel. Not sure why they are presenting the 2-4pm slot from Brisbane (it was Canberra last week with Matthew Doran), but I suspect it is something to do with limiting number of interactions between TV presenters out of Ultimo studios given the COVID situation in Sydney? It's good that they are diversifying the location of news broadcasts and not being Sydney-centric most days. I would like to see the revamped Melbourne studios used more often, like weekend breakfast, evening news or maybe a late afternoon bulletin incorporating afternoon briefings which are already presented from Melbourne.
See, now when this was originally released I could not favour it (the short versions I heard) over the original 2010 beauty. This mix however has just thrown a bucket of water over my candle held to the 2010 theme and is just *superb*. That extended mix in the first few minutes just sounds so damn good! Fresh, moody, sexy dare I say it?, thumpingly modern (the extra sssssssbang after every bar is perfection)! And the mix to the piano just wraps it up nicely. Thanks so much for sharing this mix, definitely a way to hype me up to get some work done!
The best news music ever hands down. This beats the BBC's one. Their's is absolutely irritating to listen to. ABC's one here is blissfully mellow and calm.
The BBC theme was original at the time of its release, but is so bloody boring by now, but so is the BBC. They need to be commercialised and let loose from public licence fee funding once and for all.
both are good but the abc (aus) is the ones that stands the most the problem with the bbc news theme is more and more newscasts are joining the trend of bbc news style of music, kind of it became an template for most news themes
Absolutely. As soon as you turn the ABC channel and hear this music you know it’s time to get the breaking news information that’s needed top stay informed. ABC News isn’t just a great name for a great agency. It is the trusted and true news team.

This is nothing versus the old one

My sentiments exactly. I don't mind the new (well, the 'old' version) but this was perfect. The right tone, the perfect intensity....
True! Love that iconic theme, but it feels out of place
The ABC News theme slaps, best way to get pumped up for a Victorian covid update lol

Such an improvement on past years. Actually makes the ABC feel modern. (Others certainly didn’t)
This intro rocks and deserves more credit it should than the other current 2017 ABC News theme!
It also sounds like pretty slow version of the ITV News theme!

Which is a shame because it’s arguably the best version

I'm an American living in Canada, and I have this as my ringtone. This is the best news theme out there now.

Great work!
🥰 Love it!

Excellent stuff!
Beautiful theme ngl, better than BBC's one
Perfect
I think just hear one time sri lanka derana tv news theame music.its amazing
Gutted they got rid of this. I understand the throwback to heritage, but this felt modern.
hey by any chance could u do the news breakfast theme
Omg yes please
Those people that dislike the video mite mean that there hate ABCNEWS
Sky News viewers 🤢
mite
there could hate ABCNEWS, but how could they with such a good theme?
@@lachy925this is not the UK
It's cool but it certainly doesn't feel as News as the iconic BBC one. Granted, the BBC is a ridiculously high standard theme.
The BBC countdown is the best
Irrelevant. That is rhe countdown not the theme music.
This 'does the job' well enough - but it doesn't stand comparison with the superlative (& oft-copied) BBC News theme.
This is nothing compared to BBC
I have to disagree with you
Yew have no idea what yew are talking about.
What the heck?
The Aussies one is better than the BBC version. This one doesn't have irritating beeping sounds and has a distinctive yet clever pattern to it.
