  • Lakewood Church supported the legacy dream of Pastor Hugo Moya to turn an old abandoned warehouse into a church near the Texas - Mexico Border. Cristo Vive has been helping people in and around San Juan, Texas for decades but mostly out of a garage, houses,. and even a tire shop.
In 2021, Pastor Moya successfully purchased the warehouse but while preparing it he fell through the roof and passed away.
His wife - Eunice - and seven children - picked up the dream and after three years, it has now become a reality.
Lakewood Church purchased the sheetrock and sent 5 teams of skilled workers to help frame, sheetrock, tape, float and texture the church. Along with other partners like The Factory Church in Atlanta, they recently launched the church and are able to have a greater impact in and around the McAllen area. This is one of the poorest areas of America with local residents and immigrants trying to survive.
Yonathan Moya is the founder of Border Perspective trying to change the narrative at the Border to rise above politics to #WWJD
    What would Jesus do?
We don't know what you are dealing with or what you've been through. What we do know is that God can and will bring you beauty for ashes. He will build something beautiful out of what you've been through.
"Brokenness has a perfume that price can never produce" said Pastor Craig Johnson as he shared the powerful story.
