Thanks for this very promising tool ! Seemingly no option for PC users :( Can the Android app download the separated tracks so that they can be transferred to a PC ? -Michael
@@michaelschnell5633 Hey Michael, I saw a comment below from @rhkavli that recommended trying out the web-version on PC. Have you tried going to the website and using it there on your PC? Might be as simple as that.
MOISES REVIEW: MOISES doesn't work - for complicated music. For example it doesn't recognize piano in a Latin ensemble. Too many instruments. The horns and some percussion and most piano ended up on the "OTHER" track. The "PIANO" track had hardly anything on it and was heard better on the "OTHER" track, but the horns would drown it out. A jazz trio would be good - only 3 instruments The larger the ensemble the less the Moises app can do. I am a paid customer so I have all premium options to separate tracks.
Nice tool. Another great option for practice, which has been around for quite a while, is Band In a Box. Some years back, it was redone, so rather than playing samples of individual notes, it’s playing samples of phrases. You can enter in the chord symbols of any standard you want to work on, and it will build an accompaniment based on tracks recorded by musicians in dozens of styles. I mostly use the various swing styles and bossa nova for Jazz standards. It has a mixer so you can remove tracks as needed. You can find files online with standards or enter in your own chord symbols. I’ve used it on gigs, it sounds very live and realistic. another great tool for practice.
I love and use band in a box, but one tool that really changed my feel is Drum Genius. It's an app with different drum styles, many different feels. I find BIAB to be a little stale, almost like irealpro, when it comes to accompaniment tracks. Playing with famous musicians, their feel, their lines, is a whole other level. I only get that experience from Jam sessions and live gigs these days, this app brings that experience home I think, live Drum Genius does. I will play around with it and see how it works with live recordings.
Amazing! It does what it took Rick Beato to use close connections in the music industry to get hold of master tapes he could use for his "What Makes This Song Great" series. It's one of those apps that I just have to add to my small collection of apps that may not be useful to me but are just so darn cool that I have to have them. Like PlayScore 2, the app that reads sheet music and instantly plays it.
Well: Regarding Moisis, colour me impressed! Since I'm primarily a bassist, I could use the free plan to do a test by attenuating the bass. I usually rehearse songs by using steep filters, but that has a negative effect on the bass drum, which is quite important to lock onto. No such side-effects with Moises. I'll play(pun intended) around with it some more, before I sign up, but it's sounding very promising.

True, I'm not saying it's 100% necessary, but it's an incredible tool. I think I would be a better musician if instead of using play alongs I could have used this. That's all I'm saying!
Hey James, not that I know of personally. Moises does do it to some degree by catching some roots and chord names, but I’m not sure of one that can literally hear a voicing and show it on screen… not yet, anyway. Who knows, maybe someone else knows of one!
When I hear the words itune, I shut down. You are to far advanced with technology for me to use your gifts. When I try to use any of these apps, they play what they want. Not what I want. I’ve tried to get a song I want to practice on and they all do the same thing. Give you random shit. I mostly use an iPhone (Apple) and an old iPad occasionally because that’s the only thing that works my headphones. They don’t work in my iPhone which is really to bad
Looks good, although I have zero songs on itunes or my phone at the moment --- now why is every single thing a subscription model ? That's the modern day, I suppose
haha I know what you mean! I felt the same way until I tried it. Not saying it's always 100% perfect, but it's by far the best stem separation software I've found personally and would definitely recommend checking it out

Dude, thanks for bringing this tool to my attention. My instant reaction was that this will probably revolutionize both my practicing, and my teaching. Grateful!
I may be missing something fundamental, but when you were playing the Stevie Wonder song towards the end of the video, it did not appear to me that the chords you were playing correlated with whatever chords were being highlighted - or to put it another way, it sure looked like you were playing different chords, rather than different voicings of the same chord, as being highlighted in Moises. Also, is there any way for Moises to show the chords on a staff so that one can anticipate rhythm changes or transitions from chord to chord?
Hey Alan, I don't think Moises does that but if you comment on their comment (on this video) they can answer. Also yeah I'm not sure the software is correctly detecting the chords I'm playing, which would be pretty tough in this scenario. The beauty of the app is in the stem separation which is incredible.
goodbye to the old play along records. sorry Jamey Abersold. but for me i've been using having to use 2 apps, i use one app to remove the organ and horns from Jack McDuff tunes, create a mix, export that then i have to use another app to slow the song down, ... and as you've said tuning on old tunes. I don't see on this app the ability to mark sections to repeat for practicing and be able to slow the song down. I bought your other app recommendation the transcribe plus, I really need the ability to slow the song down to get some of the parts
Hey Jay, yeah I’m not sure about highlighting sections, but it does have an excellent metronome function for slowing down and speeding up. I personal process is that I use Transcribe+ for transcription, and Moises for playing-along with anything I want to remove the piano from.
Thanks for the video, Noah! If you guys have any question, you can ask it here.

Band in the box not for 78 year olds
Hey Noah! It’s Joshua from the Jazz Piano Evolution Q&A this past Sunday! You’ve really sold me on this new resource and I can’t wait to use it!
Hey Joshua! I’m glad man it’s a great tool, I use it practically every day! Let me know what you think of it if you try it out

Woow I Love it, thanks Noah! it would be amazing if the app could separate the left hand from the right
Man that would but I would imagine that’d be super difficult
This app is awesome
Excellent
I removed the saxophone part but it also took out the piano. They are on the same channel.
Hey for which song?
Very Interesting...but Noah you are pretty good... Also the jazz masters did not have such apps and it will certainly help us improve...

There are free alternatives to the software. independent developers.
newbie question: is there AI that can spell out chord voicings of recordings? (not referring to Chordie that does this for live playing)

Noah, does Moises allow you to save files after removing parts?
Hey Richard, yes you can actually export the files.
Seemingly no option for PC users :(
Can the Android app download the separated tracks so that they can be transferred to a PC ?
-Michael
Hey Michael, I believe it can! If you reply to the comment from Moises they can answer your question directly
The iOS version can, so I’d imagine android is the same.
The web based interface should work on a Windows PC. I only tried it on Mac, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work on Windows or Linux.
@@rhkavli Thanks for pointing me there !
Is there an AI that allows the user to input several of his/her own compositions and the AI generates music in the style of the human composer?
Check out my friend Daniel Brown: intelligentmusicsystems.com/press.html
