Keep this up man. I love watching detail videos but when it is just music the background I phase out. this was really informative especially for me. Im trying to break into ceramic coating. Im learning how to paint correct and man it's tough at the start but im getting there.
Luke no matter what format you use, you provide an extreme amount of value to your fellow detailers and car enthusiasts. You are the only detailing youtuber that actually talks about the business side of things. Support you no matter what. Keep it up!
Another way to think of that metaphor of your, the ceramic coating, and the fabric protection is with a sealer for your countertop or wood floor. It will make it easier to clean the spaghetti sauce, but the spaghetti sauce is still there, you still have to clean it.
yes I'm loving these type of videos, because of you I just started a mobile wash business still small but getting more knowledge and practice and learning with your videos, tips, and all you show as well..thank you
Wow, am I seeing you dragging your pressure washer hose over the edge of the truck bed, that's not an ideal way to start a video. All of the newbies watching and hoping to learn the right way are going to think this is an acceptable practice. I feel you are losing your bedside manner doctor Wilson, always respect the patient. Whether it's your 1st day or 32yrs later in my case.
Not really a big deal if it is light contact and you know you are going to polish the paint anyways. Trucks are a different animal. Especially this dirty.
I understand its going to be polished anyway, but why make more work for yourself. Plus if the bed has plastic caps on top how are you going to polish those if they get abrasions from a gritty rubber hose? I just think these are poor choices. Generally if one of my employees is helping me he will follow me during the pressure washing stage and hold the hose from making contact or assist it from getting caught under a tire.
@@rouschautodetail6873 The edge of the bed is made from plastic. There is no way that hose is going to scratch it. You would have to be purposefully trying to run the hose all over the place to do damage. He doesn't have another employee. If it was paint, obviously thats improper practice, but come on. Don't be that guy pointing out the one little thing you can nitpick in a 30 minute video of useful information. It's irrelevant.
Ideally always do indoors and let cure overnight. If the job runs into the evening hours and the air is saturated with moisture and you are in the middle of a coating you will be in big trouble. If you are coating in the middle of the day outside the flash time will be almost instant and result in high spots galore. Plus you run the risk of airborne contaminants landing on the surface(dust/pollen/dirt etc...) and will get rubbed in during your final wipe and probably spoil the paint correction steps you did prior. I've tried to do coatings for my clients outdoors against better judgement in the past and learned my lesson.
I love the content you put out, but please no more gen z style shaky camera videos. I know that is the trend right now but man it’s so hard to watch shaky camera videos.
I just did a 2019 f350 this weekend with Gyeon Pure. 900$ Including materials but I did it at his shop. Did his ferrari the weekend before and doing his f450 next weekend. I think the lower price point has gotten me volume but I'd like to be able to charge a higher price at some point.
Yes keep going, I just ordered the ceramic coating u suggested off of ur audi ceramic video!! Gonna put on my wifes brand new pathfinder!! Any suggestions would b good!! Watching lots of ur videos
Not all coatings are created equal. Opti coat pro uses SiC which is a permanent substrate and will not degrade when properly maintained. Most other coatings us SiO2 which naturally degrades over time even when properly maintained.
Nice work very interested in starting a side business in ceramic coating. Owned my own detail business many years ago way before ceramics were the new big thing looking to get back into it and wanting to use ceramics as a selling point. Thank you for the info.
Not all your views have a business and if was to guess I say your majority of viewers are regular at home detailers looking for quality product at reasonable prices
I want to start my auto detailing business, but fear not supplying my own water and power would turn some people off. Have you had any problems going to their homes and using their water and power?
This might be a dumb question but I’ve never applied a ceramic coating so do you have to polish the paint before putting on the ceramic coating or is it just something that is recommended but not needed?
Luke, I have always been told that this can and should only be done indoors, not I see you bunk that on this big truck, I like the fact that it can be done out side, but surely not under direct sunlight, Cool
Love the videos and format. Constructive comment - you use too many words and speak way too fast and way too repetitive. Slow down and don’t repeat information over and over.
Yes keep going.. just in case you need more business topics the reason why I haven't started detailing it's because idk what to include in my details and how much I should charge 😣 if you can make a video with like a general idea on packages that would help out a lot.
You don’t necessarily need packages. Many detailers customize based on what they customer wants. I wouldn’t get stuck on packages just find out the type of car, and what kind of stuff they want and you need to know how long it takes you to do certain jobs. I base mine on $50 an hour
@@briandraper7630 ok I can see that thanks for the tip! I think base mine at 45 for now just to see how people respond to that and I'll adjust later thanks again.
Yes...definitely keep this format..it is much appreciated!
You should start recording their reaction and let us see their reaction👍🏻
Keep this up man. I love watching detail videos but when it is just music the background I phase out. this was really informative especially for me. Im trying to break into ceramic coating. Im learning how to paint correct and man it's tough at the start but im getting there.
Yes keep going!! I was just thinking that the new format is great.
Luke no matter what format you use, you provide an extreme amount of value to your fellow detailers and car enthusiasts. You are the only detailing youtuber that actually talks about the business side of things.

The business side discussion is very important and useful so please keep it coming.
Heck yah man. This is the only UA-cam channel that showed me I was a terrible business owner and now am proud of what I learnt for you man.
Yes please keep going, that helps me a lot because I’m turning from a hobbyist into a professional, thank you really appreciate

Plus some trucks cost between $70k and $100k now, I know if someone was treating my truck that way I would not call them again for detailing.

When applying a ceramic coating when is it good to install outdoor or indoor ?
Indoor, especially if you are just starting.
Ideally always do indoors and let cure overnight. If the job runs into the evening hours and the air is saturated with moisture and you are in the middle of a coating you will be in big trouble.

How come u prepped the car before polishing and not after?
U r suppose to do it after
Yes keep going, I just ordered the ceramic coating u suggested off of ur audi ceramic video!! Gonna put on my wifes brand new pathfinder!! Any suggestions would b good!! Watching lots of ur videos
Wowww nice video, question, What will be the price of this work with the detailed interior????? someone knows?????

You are so smart & informative . I appreciate you sharing and very much enjoy your videos
Love learning about the business side of it 💪🏽, along with becoming profitable

Have you tried ceremic serum by Dinowax? Hope u could make a video about it. Thanks!!
This might be a dumb question but I’ve never applied a ceramic coating so do you have to polish the paint before putting on the ceramic coating or is it just something that is recommended but not needed?
thanks for the valuable info! what was the spray you were using at the beginning on the truck bed, is it just a degreaser?
Luke, I have always been told that this can and should only be done indoors, not I see you bunk that on this big truck, I like the fact that it can be done out side, but surely not under direct sunlight, Cool
Nice video, That's amazing job you did on truck my friend
Love the videos and format. Constructive comment - you use too many words and speak way too fast and way too repetitive. Slow down and don’t repeat information over and over.
Did you not paint correct before you applied the ceramic? I’m sure being a farm truck it needed it?

Yea this format is pretty great!
shouldn't you have pre foamed or pre treated the vehicle to encapsulate the dirt and mud rather then power wash the vehicle right off the bat?
Love the business end to this format! New mobile detailing business 🙋🏾♀️
I cant find a vid about Exoforma vs Nexgen vs Last coat v2, anyone try all 3?
I love your business videos but as someone who is a little more established as far as business goes I'm missing the technique stuff. Maybe a mix?
