The reason why it shows lower specs on Steam app is due to reserve for video memory as it has integrated gpu instead of discrete one.
It is technically-ish steam deck in your car.
Previous models used Intel Atom and would be likely impossible to play cyberpunk on it, but would be ok for games like Sid Meier's Civ 5(like I did in the past). But then again, AMD APU's work waaaay better.

Looks to me like they’re running SteamOS in a virtual machine on top of Tesla’s OS. So basically it’s a built-in Steam Deck. Pretty cool!

How is your game running? Initially i have tested games like overcooked 2, it was working great. Few times after I have tried, every games starting to stutter badly starting right from beginning with even just a video playing.
Hey Shan! Which game are you seeing stuttering? All my games are running max resolution and max graphic settings and play perfectly. You have to make sure you have downloads while games are running turned OFF in the settings as that will make your games lag. The only game I had an issue with was a uncharted, but once they updated that game everything runs better but not perfect for that one game. Also for the big games make sure your shaders are completely installed before you play. I’ve also noticed better performance by shutting down the steam deck before closing out of the app.
how did you format the samsung one to give more space to dashcam more than 64GB and the rest to steam if you have a 2 TB or 1 TB drive
I believe there’s a set amount for dashcam/sentry it picks when you format it. The rest gets saved for steam.
correct if you format in the car it will only give you 64GB for dashcam and the rest is for steam but thought you did something different for the samsung as 64GB out of a 1TB is nothing. I had to format it on a computer Xfat and use it but not sure if steam will work i still have to test it out. Will steam work without a storage device (just to play and not store?)@@MaazJilani

How can we have the drive to run multiple partitions to have the custom light show and boombox along with steam and sentrycam. On my 128gb i have 3 partitions to have all three but cant figure out how to include steam into the mix.
Hey Thomas to make things easier I use my SSD for Dashcam/Sentry and Steam. I then have another separate usb plugged in for boombox and custom light show.

I know you worked hard to block your GPS, you might want to do the same for your registration card in your glove box if you are worried about giving away your location. Video content was helpful btw.

Just got a 22 MX and I tried an Xbox Controller but never came up in the Bluetooth options. I can wire it but dont want to mess that. I want to just do a direct connection to the controller to the car. Do I need to get PlayStation 🎮 for that to happen?
Hmm I’m not sure which Xbox controller you’re using, PS5 controller works guaranteed.
@@MaazJilani cool. I will just return the Xbox controller and get the PlayStation 5 controller then! It's very unclear and even with research, it's hard to tell what is directly compatible.
Yeah some work, but only wired. Even if they have Bluetooth capabilities. PS5 controller from my experience works both wired and Bluetooth.

Wonder if you can download the game for the steam library on a pc/steam deck and the use it on the Tesla. I am really poor Internet connection at my garage. Downloading a 50GB game takes like forever.
Unfortunately someone else told me you can’t download the games off the Tesla, they must be downloaded within the vehicle. :/
@@MaazJilani I would say download on a pc is more likely not practical as it runs windows, but steam deck might work, it runs the Linux based system just like the Tesla steam VM. Unfortunately I don’t have a steam deck to test it. Right now I have to leave my extra phone at the car and unpair it from the phone key to download the game. 😂 Really hope there is such feature.

I paired my PS5 bluetooth controller and it works with Beach Buggy etc. But when I load Steam and install Asteroids the buttons are impossible to use due to their placement and I can't turn off the thrust. I try setting up the controller but there's no way to save the config. do you have a video that can help me out? there IS NO Steam manual on Tesla's website, and the Tesla Advisor doesn't know about STEAM either, and I'm not getting any replies from Steam Tech Support, which tells me THEY don't know about Steam on Tesla's either. Arrrrgh!

No cloud gaming yet. They are downloaded onto my External SSD.

Why is the Samsung T7 SSD shown but it’s not plugged in when formatting?
I already had the Samsung T7 SSD formatted, set up, and installed with games. Did not want to reformat it so I used the USB drive for the video as an example.
Is there a way to use your home wifi? It defaults to Tesla internet and won’t find any other network
Yes actually it’ll always say Tesla internet in the steam settings. But as long as you are connected to your WiFi before launching steam you’ll be good.
its using vram so it shouldnt be bad even with less dedicated memory

on the screen it says steam will continue to download games if I leave the car with steam opened.
but so far the car goes into the sleep mode even if connected to the charger, therefore the games don't download. massive games like GTAV would take forever. did you find an alternative for that?
Are you connected to WiFi? Check before you launch steam. Games will still download on the vehicles LTE, but will only download in the background when the vehicle is connected to WIFI. you can also check the status of game downloads from your steam app on iPhone.

@@MaazJilani so far it's been 1h and it's downloading. the trick: camping mode while plugged in. so this way I don't discharge the battery and it keeps awake.
still problematic. so far it's been 3 days and I can't fully download GTA V 😂
So, out of curiosity, how well would BeamNG Drive run on these? It'd be even better if we could somehow figure out how to use the wheel and pedals as controls lol.

Hey Ashok! There actually is a way as I accidentally brought up the mini menu for steam deck which gave me that option. I will try to figure out how to bring that up on the Tesla and get back to you.

@@DaMostShadiest hey Jonny, Tesla didn’t start including the computer with steam capable ram until mid 2022 model year. But you can have them upgrade the computer for around $2k.
@@DaMostShadiest Hey Jonny only cars build around June 2022 and after have the Ram upgrade needed to run Steam on the Model S/X, but you can upgrade your computer from the service center for about $2k.
