I rattled a few windows in the house when this one came out! Good thing I had good natured parents. They used to say they put up with it because at least they knew where I was and didn't have to worry. Ha,ha!
really... Sensational...'73... you have to be fucking kidding me... sound quality, mix... first band I ever saw live...aged 13... what an introduction to rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Must admit not the best singer in the world, but it packs a punch, saw these at Newcastle city hall where he took two people out of the audience to spray paint "vambo rules", what an excellent show.
Saw him perform this live in Osnabruck with the Electric Cowboys 3 days before he died. He was very very drunk. Started a fight with a member of the crowd who had taken his sword as a souvenir. Ended up fighting on stage with his manager and left the stage after about an hour but the rest of the band played on. My two mates ended up backstage with the band who told him Alex was simply touring for booze money. A brilliant gig from a master of his art, very sad.
When I was in Scotland on holiday he was overseas touring. When I got home he was back in Scotland so I never got to see them. Unfortunately he died before I could. Loved the band.
First Album I bought myself...I was expecting it as a Christmas present from an aunt; can you imagine the contortions my face went through to hide my disappointment when I unwrapped the record and found that they had actually bought me a 'Glen Miller Hits' album!? d:)
a punishment for any teen at that time! I'd wished myself the Nazareth Razamanaz and fgs my grandma fulfilled my wish.......another fgs: I developped my taste in music.....
Saw and heard SAHB in the early days play this live whilst having taken mescaline...me... and maybe they also had imbibe...life affirming experience....man. Can't remember which gig but I recall Alex challenging the Doobie Bros. to a knife fight. Have a feeling it may have been Knebworth 1974?
Had tickets to see them in London...fucked up...gutted Anyway ...late 70s was working in a club and the stripper did her thing to this ! It was fucking menral...she pulled things from inside herself and pelted the audience with them The usual punters who were used to generic s/tease were paralyzed. One of the beat things I'd ever seen .
Ist für Leute die mit der Mucke und entsprechenden Drogen aufgewachsen sind, einfach geil. Erinnerungen ohne Ende. Lang ists her. Aber schön wars schon🤗
If recorded with better equipment like at least a 16 track Studer, this would be brilliant. Cannot be compared to the recording quality obtained by other artists in the early '70s.
Put this tune on a good stereo and crank it up. Guaranteed to make the crops grow!
You know it ! 🌞
I agree, I am 64 now and no digital can compete with the down-home-bolster sound of analog -- where you hear everything your ears were meant to hear.
oh my

Listening to the FAITH HEALER at home is good against spreading the Coronavirus. Believe me. And I don't have to put my hands on you!
Stay healthy!
CLASSIC ALBUM! Still got the vinyl album. Slightly battered like meself but present. CLASS ACT!
Ditto 😊👍🏻
I had them all. I have since given them to a young Musician friend of mine who can keep them to pass on to someone when he is as old as I am.
Thats really sensational. One of the greatest songs of all times. I saw them live in the 80's.
Rly?
Alex died in the 70,s
@@williammarik6159 he died at the 4th of February 1982. I think I saw him in 80 or 81. Maybe I still have the ticket in my collection.
@@andyhein58 Thx for the correction.
Alex Harvey, What a charachter! A city-wise boy, a poet, even a reporter of various realities, contemporary and past...
My dad had a cassette of this in his dolomite!! driving into Glasgow in the pouring rain!! what fun!!
Got tuned in to this great group when I lived in Cleveland Ohio in 1983 got the live and the framed album on vinyl still rocks to this very day

One of the best songs ever, and sadly mostly forgotten.

That's interesting!
What a very sad story. He really was, as you say, a master of his art.
When I was in Scotland on holiday he was overseas touring. When I got home he was back in Scotland so I never got to see them. Unfortunately he died before I could. Loved the band.

Fair point but somewhat off target- methinks thou dost confuse fidelity with content?
