That monologue at the end was really commendable. I respect any man who can be that honest with himself and with the public. Couldn’t have said it any better myself.
Bang on with your commentary Jay; fully agree. Nice bear. You're a very good hunter already but Steve is definitely the man to learn even more from if you want to see and harvest nice game consistently! Love your reviews and hunting videos. I'm another Lower Mainland guy too. Cheers!
One of your best films yet. Great job! and great job having Steve along. Like you he was a huge influence to me starting out hunting 11 years ago mostly solo. Very well put commentary. Couldn’t agree more. I had a similar moment to you this past season when you shot your Colorado buck. I was limited for time during deer season, as I had an elk in the freezer it was big buck or nothing. Well I ended up shooting a 2 1/2 year old, and after taking some respectable bucks in the past it just didn’t hit the same. This was my turning point to realize I need to target mature animals from here on. My skills have developed and shooting young animals is simply to easy now and not as satisfying. Good luck to your season.
Congratulations man. That was a nice bear! What you were saying at the end is so true. Where do you go from here. It's a hard concept to think about for any animal that someone harvests, not even for hunting but for life in general. Keep on keeping on man!
Awesome hunt film and great concluding piece. Really good points about trophy hunting and the “whys” of/for hunting at the end 👍🏻 I think recognizing an animal as a trophy besides the personal challenge and the conservation benefits is (rather obviously) also a mark of respect to the creature itself. Anyway, great stuff as always and awesome to see you hunting with Steve.
100% agree with your point on trophy hunting. I’ve only had one of my big game animals mounted, and that was a black bear that I shot while my wife came along for the first time. I mounted that bear as a reminder of that great time in the bear woods with her. It didn’t hurt that it was a pretty legit bear for the area. 😉
Nice bear with the bow, 1 more tag to go ! You should talk to Steve about “ Bigfoot “ subject …. Don’t b shy ..Open your mind he seems like a solid good dude !
Bad ass man! Question, are those bears used to seeing people or do they have poor eyesight? I spot&stalk black bears here in Idaho where I grew up and they take off running if they see or smell me. Are coastal bear different?
These bears don’t see too much hunting. Some though. But it’s also deep into the rut. You can call the dominant males almost like elk. They’re a predator so can be easier to play in the right circumstances. It’s a numbers game. 50% will run off but you just keep making plays until you find the one that wants to dance lol

Wicked stalks man, looks like a good variety. First thought with the block and tackle setup was fuckin BC boys, my dad would be impressed. ( We're from Hazleton) Awesome film man. Gets a guy fired up for this fall!
Finally. A guy who makes a living from hunting admitting why he actually hunts. Bravo sir! Love your content man. I’ve killed six bears and have never tasted bear meat. Not trying to get trichinosis. I’ll stick to beef

Steve’s the man!
That monologue at the end was really commendable. I respect any man who can be that honest with himself and with the public. Couldn’t have said it any better myself.

Good hunt, nice harvest, great eating! Well done video.
Tracker yarding at its finest!

Love it!
Great video! Will you be on a bc elk hunt this fall? Love your previous bc elk adventures.
Yessir. Wouldn’t miss it for the world.
Right on. 3 consecutive bc archery elk tags filled would be a huge accomplishment.
Nice bear. Great Video! 💪🏻
👍
This is awesome new favorite hunter going out on a hunt with my long time favorite hunter...fuckin wicked👍
💪
what type of calling where you guys using and what was strategy with them? It’s definitely not the usual predator commonly suggested for bears…
Just mimicking bear noises with rutting dominant boars to get them to play.
Nice bear with the bow, 1 more tag to go !
You should talk to Steve about “ Bigfoot “ subject …. Don’t b shy ..Open your mind he seems like a solid good dude !

Hopefully, more hunts with Steve. His buddy has some great trophies 🏆 too. @proguide66
Working on it!
Maybe a trophy blacktail only Vancouver BC can produce. 🤔
Is that friend of yours the "How To Hunt" always talking about bigfoot guy?
Yep.
Great hunt man!! Thats one hell of a bear kill shot man👌 and an absolute stud of a bear to take,
Thanks brother!
Love that area. Got my first bear in there. Not nearly as big though lol that's a brute. Great Video!
💪
Awesome hunt! Nice shot. Great collaboration with Steve. What was the length nose to tail?
6’4” nose to tail and 7’2” wingspan.

Just a heads up it’s Boar not bore unless I’m missing something haha
🤦♂️
Fixed. For the record I did know that lol. I appreciate you catching the slip up.
@@MindfulHunter haha absolutely! Love your work keep it up!
Do you carry a distressed fawn caller, or is that just a video game thing?
Those definitely work in the right circumstances. Careful if there’s grizzlies around though.
