- ION COLOR BRILLIANCE RED FROM THE BRIGHTS COLLECTION ON PREVIOUSLY DYED HAIR.
NO DEVELOPER!!! I DYED MY HAIR SOME MONTHS BEFORE WITH THE DEVELOPER SO IT WAS ALREADY A LIGHTER COLOR. IF THE COLOR STARTS TO GO AWAY YOU CAN APPLY AGAIN IN 6 WEEKS.
HOW TO USE: I DON'T SHAMPOO THATS JUST MY CHOICE.
YOU CAN APPLY DIRECTLY FROM THE BOTTLE TO SHAMPOOED, TOWEL DRIED HAIR. FOR MORE DEPOSIT OR GRAY BLENDING, COVER WITH A PLASTIC CAP AND PROCESS UNDER A WARM DRYER FOR 10 MINS. COOL FOR 5 MINS, THEN RINSE THOROUGHLY.
THEY SAY YOU SHOULDN'T USE DEVELOPER WITH THE SEMI- PERMANENT. - Навчання та стиль
Coming from a cosmetologist, it’s is always best to have your hair extra dirty when coloring. The color absorbs through your natural hair oils and has better porosity when it is dirty :) nice job

Yes I recommend a developer because that’s what breaks down your hair to change color. If you don’t it won’t last long.

I wanted to try ion red, and was confused as if to use the developer or not, the lady at the store told me I can, unseen other videos and they use the developer, but after seeing this video I will go ahead and dye my hair without the developer,...my hair is already red, all I need is my roots...thank you🥰

It will take on your hair but if you have roots and they are dark it's not gonna show just like it didn't show on her but it looks good With dark roots but if you have light color hair it will take it Either way it's gonna work out because You have red hair already it's just gonna make it look more Fresh and brighter I love ion products

So did you use conditioner and shampoo after you did it was dry and it was finished
I use 40 volume developer when I do these ion colors on clients with dark hair. I also add Continuum or Olaplex 1 to the dye mixture to protect the hair. 🙂 Your hair came out great!

@Faithfulxoxo sorry for the confusion. Lol I meant when I do ion bright colors I use 40 developer (permanent color). With the semi-permanent I do not use developer. I use the permanent with 40 volume for the level 1 roots and the semi-permanent on the rest of the previously colored hair to make it vibrant again.

If you are using the semi-permanent, it says don't use the developer AND THEY MEAN IT. I used the intense red and I didn't think I had enough so I added a little developer to stretch it out and my hair turned like a fuschia. It was gorgeous and one of my best colors ever but definitely was NOT true red!

How did it look after using shampoo, and how long did it last for you? And it looks amazing on you!!
It still looked the same after shampooing but because red bleeds so much it wasn’t as bright after about 5 weeks.
I’m super late to this but do you think this red could layer over a blue/teal without turning purple? I’ve been trying to remove the blue in my hair but it just won’t budge and I’m nervous to go red because I don’t want to risk it turning a different color 😭
If I was you I would try a hair dye remover and see if it comes out that way.

No, as long as it’s been a week since your last perm and you need to make sure you show a little extra care to your hair with chemicals in it.

I usually do it on dirty hair just because It takes a lot to wash my hair and dry it just to put the dye in and wash it again.

Next time, add 2 oz of ion protein filler, it will help the red stick for longer! 🫶🏻 You can even use red protein filler which is a different brand and more creamy! Hair that has been damaged from processing which is my case as well needs a protein filler treatment once a month!
