- I just wanted to practice cooking in a modified One Egg Wonder frying pan and a home made alcohol stove before taking it backpacking. It works pretty well.

One thing I learned for the one egg wonder is having the right sized spatula. My preference is the small sized silicon spatula. But for the trail the wooden/bamboo rice spatula(square on one side and round on the other. Very light and perfect size and shape for the pan. Love your modification on the pan. I wish manufacturers would do the same but with a silicone coating on the handle cuz the pan is off balance. Your design is much better

If I did that with a stove like that
the Men in the big red truck with the ladders fire hoses ans all would show up at My house
( don't ask Me how I KNOW this ) !!!! LOL
You can make your own simmer ring using a can just slightly over the wick. Cut the can so it looks like a wind screen, then open it and put it under the stove, then the can simmer ring is all set and done after closing by the wick. :)
You can always cut the silicone / nylon spatula that you have down to the size that will easily fit into your 1 egg fry pan. also cut the handle a bit shorter, and it will easily fit into a back pack... Cheers.

I wonder if you could do the same thing with 1/4oz of fuel if you made a simmer ring for that stove. I use a simmer ring to make rice or to make other foods that require simmering. Works well.
You can do 4 eggs at a time soft boiling them and you dont have to go through the trouble of 1 at a time.
please don't start forest fires
still think the mini trangia does the same job but better. i use mine all the time and i can't see any benefit from those cat food cans to be honest.. happy hiking

Just use a coat hanger to make your handle. It will be much easier to bend .
They have small silicon spatulas at Marshall's or T.J. Max with a small spoon for $2.99
Nice job. There is a guy that shows how to make a simmer ring for the fancy feast stove. His channel is: Colorado Camper . Simple and easy to make and it seems to work well. Check it out. I'm going to be making a few myself. That pan is great. Nice job on the handle.
