    Been wearing outdoor research gloves for most of my career and I really love them. They also have the phone finger and thumb and I use a sensor pair with a leather palm which is really amazing dealing with machine guns as they are quite hot and I seem to touch the hot more than I should

      Yeah that makes sense. I would def want leather when dealing with metal that hot. If you are not supposed to touch it, why is it glowing? Lol

    One of the best gloves for desterity ive ever tried were the First Tactical Slash gloves. Anti Cut, super light and very good for shooting

    I tested a few gloves and now use the mechanix recon.
    All mechanix gloves fit my hand really well.
    Before I used the pursuit with cut resistant, but Ive come to the conclusion, that having more dexterity and feel in the hands for patting down ppl is more important and relevant than the rare event of grabbing into a knife.
    The recons have a thin leather on the inside, fit snug and the standard mecanix ventilated upper material. Only thing I would improve is adding a light padding for the knuckles.
    I always wanted to try the PIGs, but here in europe their too expensive for working gloves I have to replace every 1 to 1 1/2 year or so.
    Mechanix are readly available and tho the recons are expensive mechanixs, there are sales for them.

    What gloves would you recommend for searching? Preferably with good dexterity and at least puncture resistant.

      I would recommend the pig gloves, and proper search techniques rather than thick leather “puncture” resistant gloves. Just my .02

    Would you consider developing gas mask pouches for barricade/ active shooter stuff?

      There a few good options at the moment. The THYF one is a good option as well as a crye drop leg which is what I currently run.

    What glove for cold weather and needle and knife cut protection?

    • @SoileaterYT
      @SoileaterYT  10 місяців тому

      I would worry less about gloves that provide “poke” protection and just use good pat town techniques. For the cold weather gloves, they were SKD Tactical.

      Appreciate the response but I want cut proof protection gloves if I have to grab the knife of some lunatic on the NYC subway who randomly chooses to attack me.

      Your needs are different than mine which is fine our jobs are all different. I wouldn’t want to wear gloves my entire shift. Especially the leather / Kevlar gloves that provide some protection against blades. For me personally I’d rather try to focus on situational awareness and defensive tactics when not on shift. But we all know you can’t spot everything. Stay safe.
