I would always recommend NVENC simply due to the fact that you will gain about 20% performance in-game over using x264! Unless you have absolutely crap upload NVENC@6000 is the way to go these days

Hi friend. What u recommend for I8700k and 970GTX OC 4Gb GDDR5 (Asus white GPU card)? Yes I know my GPU is bottleneck. My upload is stable 3.9Mbps. I plan to test x264, CBR, 2800 - 3000 bitrate, CPU usage = faster. Generally, what I heard, x264 = more CPU usage but less bitrate that you need. For NVENC is the opposite = less CPU usage but more bitrate you need in order to avoid pixelization especially in fast game.
Yes that is correct - NVENC will use almost no CPU performance. Im slightly doubting that with barely 4mbps you will be able to stream at 3000 bitrate though... I've had similar upload speeds and it was truly a struggle to stream with. Also keep in mind that increaing your CPU preset will make all your games lag horribly - and wont improve the quality remarkably on stream :/
I have I-8700 and Gould is 1060 6gb. Bit rate >12mbs. Streaming on you escape from tarkov make crash the game. I stream on UA-cam and twitch together. Any recommendations on settings on x264 fullhd ?
Do you notice a real difference between the CPU preset "faster" and "medium"? I don't know if you were able to test above "faster" or if you saw some tests. I personally have an AMD Ryzen 7 1800X and a GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6G.
I don't think you can really spot large differences in streams that are produced using "faster" and "medium". On the other hand, the decrease in gaming performance will certainly be noticeable ;)
Wonderful. Good work. Very helpful and knowledgeable on a current version of the OBS settings. Thanks for the video. Big thumbs up, but after all this my fps goes from 55 to 6 as soon as I start running around in the map. Any ideas?
Thank you! FPS hit definitely should not be more than 50% when using x264. If you have only 55fps to start with however I must admit that your PC specs might not quite be up for the task of streaming anyways... What specs to you have if I may ask?
Dude, you don't even know how happy I am right now :) Where have you been until now? :)) The settings you gave us...amazing. I almost gave up on setting up my OBS and then...I found you :) I pressed the "Like" button before checkin' the new settings 'cuz you deserve it. After checking the settings, came back with the Subscribe :D . I recommend you to put the link for the Audio tutorial you talked about in the video. Thanks, man! :)
Hey. i just want to start with recording right now. i want to know whats the best settings i can use (just for recording). i have a 7700k running 4.8ghz and a 1060 6gb. what settings can i run?
Very very helpful video. Thank you. The explanations were quick and concise and that's the important part. Didn't have to skip any segments, didn't have to watch a 20 minute video where rambling is usually done. So thank you again friend.
Yeah sure. I have a dedicated video on recording settings tho, as they differ quite dramatically from streaming settings: ua-cam.com/video/hgFe9zmkRFE/v-deo.html And yes you can also use QuickSync!
Hey sweet, amazing explanatory video.. One doubt I have an i7-7700k @ 4.8 oc ram 16gb 3.2mhz 1060 3gb.. im streaming games like FFXV, Nier Automata, RoTR, SoTB and so, games which uses lot of vram.. playing 1080@60fps and sometimes 1080@30fps depending on the game but scaling to 720@60fps/30fps Im not streaming directly to the platform, im using a service to do it, like restream or aircast, so i can stream to mixer/twitch/youtube at very same time.. but i was looking for a better quality.. so, upload speed 5mb and setup my BR to 3000.. Right now im using x264 with your setup, i mean, KF interval 2, CPU very fast, i was thinking that i could go for fast or medium but im not sure since you said nor even you goes there.. profile high and done.. What if i change to NVENC? Any tip for? Thanks in advance
Dude......... I could write paragraphs on how this video seemed to be the only one that worked for me. My stream is buttery smooth and beautiful. I appreciate you. WE appreciate you.
Do these setting work well also if you are just streaming a podcast on UA-cam? Or is there a better setting profile for stream quality, if you are not gaming?
The best gaming profile is probably a bit overkill for simple podcasts where there is naturally less movement involved. So you could easily get away with lower bitrates but I would keep the other settings identical. Cheers
@@TechGuides Thanks so much man, I really appreciate it. OBS was lagging in realtime, but when I watched my stream back on you tube, it seemed to be fine. I was hoping to have a more real time experience within obs and it seemed to be a bit behind. I thought maybe it is my imac. Which has only 8 megs of ram, and I think a 512k video card in it.
I got 20 mbps upload and I have been useing the Nvinda h.264 encoder with a bitrate of 15000. My audio birate is 128. Is that good or not? I haven't changed the settings for profile, such as high quality or high performance in the output tap. Should I keep useing these settings, or change them? I can't do x264 my CPU is an older intel quad core. Any suggestions for settings? Also, it is possible to capture audio from a specific application to use on OBS? Thanks
Depends, are you streaming to UA-cam? Because for Twitch, 15000 is waaay too high! Audio bitrate should be fine. And yes you should definitely use the "High Quality" profile as well as two-pass encoding to get the best image quality! You can simply add different audio devices in OBS studio, and then assign that audio device in the setting of the application that you want to capture
Hey this doesnt affect game performance does it?For instance if im at 1080p getting 144 fps then im still gonna see it while i play even if im streaming?
Can you please help me with what obs settings I should use because every time i try to stream fortnite I notice frame drop even if i bumb the stream down to 720p my specs are Intel Core i7 8700K Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 8G
Did you ever try to stream another game than fortnite? It might after all be the cause for your frame drops as for some reason it uses way to many resources
So I don't really know what my problem is I have a intel core i7-8700k, gtx 1070Ti and 16 gbs of ram but for some reason ive tried using my cpu and my gpu but with no luck and I have gone to as low as 2500 bit rate with the exact some outcome. When I stream the lagging is just unbearable for viewers and have no idea if you can help that would be great. btw Ive tried your settings and I have around 178mbs download and a 10 to 11 upload so its just confused on why its lagging. Also one more thing I am using streamlabs obs but I was still able to do all the settings you have so I didn't know if the problem could be in the software that II am using
Thank you! Not only did you recommend settings you also gave reasons why you recommend them. Too many videos out there say "just do it this way" with no explanations. Thumbs up to you!
Hey man me again, ive watched this video so many times ahahahah, so Im building another pc to stream off ndi and i cant decide if i want to buy the i7 8700 and use the cpu x264 encoder and just have a gtx1030 or go with nvenc with an i3 8100 and a gtx1050ti or maybe 1060. From your video i would assume the cpu build correct? i have gig internet so i get 35mb upload so i could max it out. On the graph you made it seems if i have higher bitrate i should go nvenc? so please let me know what you think!
Haha thanks man ;) If you have a second PC for streaming than I would recommend to use x264 instead of NVENC as you wont be playing on that PC anyways and can use all CPU power for encoding. The quality of x264 is also slightly better albeit at 6000 its hardly noticable. Bottom line: you wont need a good GPU on a streaming PC but you will want to have a strong CPU
Hi, What would you recommend for streaming on PS4 pro with Elgato hd60 pro and using SLOBS. Download 290mbps and Upload speed 28mbps. PC: Intel i7 9700k 3.60 GHZ, 32GB ram, no graphics card. For encode my only options x264 and QSV ?
Do you mean recording and streaming at the same time? I really wouldnt advice doing so with OBS studio. Rather stream on OBs and record e.g. with shadowplay
I have an Intel I7 7700 CPU @ 3.6Ghz GTX 1050TI what would be the best setting for me to run as I stream on Mixer aswell as Twitch and I was streaming earlier and I dropped 0 Frames on OBS with my CPU only being 2.9% it’s just it looks really fuzzy and bad Quality? Could you recommend how I could fix this issue oh and I Get Arround 6-7 Upload? What Bitrate should I be using?
With that upload, use about 3000-4000 kbps. Unfortunately, you probably have to resort to using x264 with that "low" upload speed potentially making your game lag.
Hey, very nice video, could you help me? what settings do you reccomend for pubg? my issue is i think my cpu i much more powerful then my gpu, should i still use nvenc? atm im using x264(cause i thought it would help with the pressure on the gpu) with a bitrate 5000, preset: veryfast and profil: main Pc specs: asus 1060 3 gb r5 2600x 8 gb ram 3000 mhz pc mate 350 internet speed: 50/50 mbits
You will have to test for yourself if x264 does provide enough gaming performance while streaming. However, I have run multiple gaming performance benchmarks while streaming and each time NVENC provided more in-game performance (on a i7-7700k and i9-9900k)
I was lagging and almost gave up but i did this and fixed it after trying different bit rates and resolutions and failing: RESET to default settings go to OUTPUT and change to .mp4 THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP: go to VIDEO and change the DOWNSCALE FILTER to LANCZOS and COMMON FPS VALUES to 24FPS NTSC this fixed it for me to record my desktop, i have not tried with gaming. i can even record now 4k 24fps without lagging and i have an old AMD fx8350 with rx470. for me what was screwing my recording was the DOWNSCALE FILTER and the FPS (I had it at 30 and 60) I did not touched anything else! NOTHING ELSE!
I can guarantee you that its not the Lanczos filter that helped you, but the fact that you lowered your recording FPS. In fact, Lanczos uses slightly more performance than billinear - Im currently working on a video looking at exactly that!
After a lot of years watching wrong videos on youtube explaining how to have the best settings on obs I finnaly found an amazing tutorial. Thank you dude.
Thank you so much man! I really tried to go beyond what is routinely available on YT (yes I watched them all too ;)) so I really appreciate your words :)
So I think I have a decent pc to stream with I also allready stream a lot Specs: Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4590 CPU @3.30GHz 3.30GHz RAM: 8.00 GB ddr3 Grafische kaart: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 The question that I have is what I should upgrade about my pc because Im about to get a gtx 1070ti 8gb because I use my ghrapics card to stream with and I stream fortnite (ive heard from a lot of people that this game is all about ghrapics cards) so because of that reason I was like I should just buy a really good ghrapics card instead of upgrading all of the other parts of my pc because this card is way less expensive then upgrading all of the other parts of my pc but I am still not sure if this is the right decision to make. How do you think about it?
I agree! For Fortnite you should really try to get the best GPU you can afford. CPU won't matter too much (although it naturally helps with performance while streaming).
Are the YUV color space and range settings you recommended in this video still up-to-date? Someone in the help text channel on the official OBS Community Discord server said that 709 and partial are recommended...
Great video! One question, I use a Logitech c920 webcam and everything looks fine until I start playing the games while streaming. Game looks great but the camera starts to get gritty. I'm currently streaming in x264 but I have 300 down with 20 up. Do you think switching to the other option (n sync?) would give me better quality? I have an i7700k with a. 1080ti
If you have discord bro I would love to chat, this has been going on for so long.....I could screen share and show you. I know thats a reach but I'm doing everything I can to fix this..or trying to anyway. Thanks Speedbre4ker
What if for some reason my streams for are unstable, even with minimal settings? Specs: - CPU: Ryzen 7 1700X - MOBO: MSI B350M BAZOOKA microATX - GPU: Asus Dual RX 580 8GB - RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400MHz - 1x8GB (Adding another stick this week) Id be outputting at 720p at 3.5k bitrate with OBS as High Priority but for some reason it still becomes unstable at times, and Ive got decent 10MB+ upload. With my old build I was capable at 1080p with the only real difference being the GPU: GTX 1070 and RAM: 16GB but at 3200MHz. Thoughts on what can be done to resolve this?
Quick Question, My upload speed is 100Mbps minimum and my pc setup is an i7 4790K @4.00GHz and 2 GTX970's in SLI. I watched the video but i just want to double check with you what you recommend I set up to make sure i followed your video correctly. Also Since i have 2 gpu's I'm in the fortunate position to use one for OBS however people have been telling me I should use my CPU. Your thoughts on this as well? THank youi for your help and I really enjoyed your video, very informative.
I would definitely use NVENC (nvidia encoding) with your system - however, you wont really benefit from having an SLI setup here because NVENC is a separate chip on your GPU which is only used for encoding.
Should I follow the advanced settings in your video if I am using my gpu to encode? Or is that advanced settings only for the CPU part? Or is the advance settings you change to only for when you need to free up some resources for either the GPU or CPU?
Yes sure! Color range and space are both valid regardless if you're using the CPU or GPU for encoding. However process priority will most likely only be useful if you're using the CPU for encoding
Speedbre4ker thanks for replying, you earned a follower. I have yet to try the settings. But I have a i7 6700k, 16 gigs of ram, zotac 980ti, 500gig ssd. I'm also on a 100 down 20 up connection. Would the settings in the video still be good or should I up somethings? And if I do, which ones?
Get faster internet? No honestly, if you have low quality than either you do not have any servers nearby (high ping) or you have very low upload speeds (1000-3000kbps).
Good video, quick question though. When streaming, my stream looks smooth (1080@60), however what I actually see in game gets choppy. For example, I am getting 144fps in-game while streaming, but it looks more like 60fps irl. I would think the choppiness would appear in the stream but it doesn't. Any idea as to how to remedy this?
Hey i have a question, if my bandwith to the best server is 4289 kbps so what is the best bitrate that i can use? and i btw my specs are Geforce GTX 960M 2GB, I7 - 7700K , and DDR4 RAM 20GB so,whats the best bitrate??
Im afraid your internet connection is barely capable of livestreaming.. You'll have to pick around 3000 as bitrate and use x264, i.e. you will experience quite some performance decrease while gaming
Hey man, I am having issues with Stream Labs OBS when streaming Project Cars 2. It is extremely laggy. But with COD and APEX, no issues. Same settings saved in OBS for all stream, yet Project Cars 2 lags badly. Any advice? maybe a newer video of setting for latest OBS
@@TimFromCasohs no, I didn't find any solution. Logged a support call with OBS and they were ZERO help. The game runs fine, yet the Stream Lags...and only on ProjectCars2 for me.
So do i use the same advanced settings in NVenc that u explained for X264 ? Process Priority YUV Color Space YUV Color Range Or do i let that standard ? Also i didnt get the Video tab part for the Nvenc.
Yes absolutely! Btw I have made a nice comparison between different color ranges and spaces in my latest video at 10:49 ua-cam.com/video/hgFe9zmkRFE/v-deo.html If you don't get NVENC or AMD h264 encoding than I'm afraid your GPU does not support hardware encoding - you will need to stick to x264
Okay, I have no ethernet and around 8Mbit and my stream is skipping frames very frequently, Im using a GTX 1050 Ti, Ryzen 5 2600 and 16 GB DDR4 so it cant be my hardware. I have tried everything from low bitrate to high bitrate and trying streamlabs obs and still no major fixes.. any ideas?
Honestly, I would highly recommend to get a direct Ethernet connection to your router instead of streaming over WIFI. It could very well be that you don't get enough throughput depending how far away your router is...
Yeah, im installing ethernet tomorrow and I fixed the frame droppage by lowering my bitrate till I found a stable one and that was 1000 bitrate. Thanks for the tip!
Please help I have a 900p monitor I wanna use Nvenc for streaming to UA-cam I wanna stream at 1080p Where do i scale output resolution And what bitrate do i stream I have a bandwidth of 10Mbps
Depends on your upload speed, resolution and the game your playing. Usually I would go with 6000kbps and NVENC (basically what I recommend in this video)
Quick question. I never saw this answered in the video and was hoping someone more have some input. I am a streamer with a 2 PC set-up and can easily run 1080p 60fps with my setup/Network but I am not partnered (only affiliate). If I'm not mistaken I believe that because I'm an affiliate and not a partner I do not have a dedicated source button on my stream. Correct me if im wrong but I beleive that means my viewers are forced to watch at source and cant lower it based on what their setup can handle. If i am correct in saying all this then my question is what is the sweet spot to run ones stream at so that one does not alienate any viewers from being able to watch yet still being able to put out the best quality possible?
Only partners have guaranteed transcoding options. However, you can also have transcoding options if you are "only" affiliate provided that either you have a lot of viewers or you're streaming at off peak hours. Personally, I think this is poor design by twitch (obviously to save computing costs) seeing that anybody on UA-cam will get transcoding options
so i have the 2 pc set up with no capture card, should my settings be the exact same? im using the x264 on my main pc as i dont want to use any gpu power, and i have a 6mb upload. Im just wondering about the downscaling mainly, should it be the same on both or do i just downscale on one of them? i have a 2k monitor for my main pc.
I just have one problem, from my internet i can stream with an bitrate of 6000 or 5000 but on twitch my stream is always pixilated it does not matter if i use the x264 encoder or my H264/AVC Encoder need help
TheProAnimator go to obs settings > go to video on left side >and change base scale to 1920*1080 and do the same with output > press apply then ok at bottom and then > go live and you should have 1080p
Quicksync leverages your CPU's integrated graphics unit - which as you said correctly, is usually simply idling. I have never used this option nor do I know what quality / performance you will get from it. If you have NVENC than definitely use it over QuickSync!
I have 93mBit upload speed. What bitrate/image quality do you recommend? Edit: I want to stream For Honor in decent/good quality and my main specs are GTX 1060 6GB, i5 7400, 8GB DDR4
QuickSync uses the integrated GPU in Intel CPU's for encoding. I haven't tested the quality nor Performance but that's definitely one for a future vide
I use my pc to console stream using a AVerMedia Live gamer 4K and I find that YUV colour set to partial looks better is there a reason wht full isn't best?
This is a really nice video and you explain really well. Tho i can't have 60 fps when i try to stream Apex Legends. I have a 1050ti and a i7 6700 skylake. Do you think it might be gpu fault?
Apex Legend is currently very poorly optimized and uses up way to much GPU resources rendering OBS almost incapable to operate... There is no easy fix other than to reduce in-game resolution or grossly limit your FPS.

Speedbre4ker Allright ima try it tomorrow. My problem is that I have a 144hz screen but my fps drop down do like 100 when I stream so it causes laggs
Definitely shouldn't be an issue with NVENC - unless you only have a 4core/4thread CPU at low clock speeds
Speedbre4ker got an amd ryzen 5 1600x with 6 cores/12 threads and my cpu is like 20-30% while gaming, streaming, chat open in browser, discord running so the issue is also not based on cpu.

Wonderful. Good work. Very helpful and knowledgeable on a current version of the OBS settings. Thanks for the video. Big thumbs up, but after all this my fps goes from 55 to 6 as soon as I start running around in the map. Any ideas?

This video should provide you with answers: ua-cam.com/video/hgFe9zmkRFE/v-deo.html
Very very helpful video. Thank you. The explanations were quick and concise and that's the important part. Didn't have to skip any segments, didn't have to watch a 20 minute video where rambling is usually done. So thank you again friend.
Awesome, just what I was aiming for with this video! Really appreciate it :)
can i skip the stream key part because i only need recordings and not streams and if I don't have NVEnc, can I use QuickSync H.264?
Yeah sure. I have a dedicated video on recording settings tho, as they differ quite dramatically from streaming settings: ua-cam.com/video/hgFe9zmkRFE/v-deo.html And yes you can also use QuickSync!
Hey sweet, amazing explanatory video..
One doubt
I have an i7-7700k @ 4.8 oc
ram 16gb 3.2mhz
1060 3gb..
im streaming games like FFXV, Nier Automata, RoTR, SoTB and so, games which uses lot of vram..
playing 1080@60fps and sometimes 1080@30fps depending on the game but scaling to 720@60fps/30fps
Im not streaming directly to the platform, im using a service to do it, like restream or aircast, so i can stream to mixer/twitch/youtube at very same time.. but i was looking for a better quality..
so, upload speed 5mb and setup my BR to 3000..
Right now im using x264 with your setup, i mean, KF interval 2, CPU very fast, i was thinking that i could go for fast or medium but im not sure since you said nor even you goes there..
profile high and done..
What if i change to NVENC?
Any tip for?
Thanks in advance
Finally somebody who covered the advanced tab instead of saying "Just leave it, you'll mess something up", Thanks dude.
You're welcome! ;)
Dude......... I could write paragraphs on how this video seemed to be the only one that worked for me. My stream is buttery smooth and beautiful. I appreciate you. WE appreciate you.
Thank you so much for your humble words. This is why I love producing videos :)
Which has only 8 megs of ram, and I think a 512k video card in it.
which is better for encoding? cpu? or gpu? (i have gtx 1070, and ryzen 5 2600)
CPU for very GPU heavy games such as PUBG or Ghost Recon, GPU for CPU heavy games such as CS:GO
@@TechGuides oh so I should change it every now and then if a game Is heavy related?
Absolutely! Usually people don't play a wide variety of games which is why they stick with one encoder but I actually regularly switch
@@TechGuides oh okay thank you my dude!
Thanks
15000 bitrate is way too high for 20 mbps up.
With the new NVENC you only lose minimal performance. See this video for my updated tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/JRKmNU6U-E0/v-deo.html
Can you please help me with what obs settings I should use because every time i try to stream fortnite I notice frame drop even if i bumb the stream down to 720p my specs are
Intel Core i7 8700K
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 8G
Are you streaming with NVENC? You really should not get huge frame drop, unless you attempt to stream at 1080p or higher
yes I am streaming with NVENC at 900p
Did you ever try to stream another game than fortnite? It might after all be the cause for your frame drops as for some reason it uses way to many resources
what would you recommend for: i7 6700k, radeon r9 390
nice video can i have question what about ATI graphics? How is the best setup
Sorry I can only help with Nvidia
So I don't really know what my problem is I have a intel core i7-8700k, gtx 1070Ti and 16 gbs of ram but for some reason ive tried using my cpu and my gpu but with no luck and I have gone to as low as 2500 bit rate with the exact some outcome. When I stream the lagging is just unbearable for viewers and have no idea if you can help that would be great. btw Ive tried your settings and I have around 178mbs download and a 10 to 11 upload so its just confused on why its lagging. Also one more thing I am using streamlabs obs but I was still able to do all the settings you have so I didn't know if the problem could be in the software that II am using
I aswell got exactly this problem, imma try using a diffrent obs
Thank you! Not only did you recommend settings you also gave reasons why you recommend them. Too many videos out there say "just do it this way" with no explanations. Thumbs up to you!
Happy to help thanks for your kind comment!
playing dota2 have 20-30 fps , if playing and streaming by OBS , give me solution sir
what should biterate be for 8 upload and encoder NVENC?
Bottom line: you wont need a good GPU on a streaming PC but you will want to have a strong CPU
thank you sir!
Will this help with video conferencing? I use obs and a capture card for my meetings. Thanks.
if I want to play apex with 100 fps as soon as the fps drops just below 100 my stream. any tips? (system: RTX 2070 i7 8700)
Hi, What would you recommend for streaming on PS4 pro with Elgato hd60 pro and using SLOBS. Download 290mbps and Upload speed 28mbps. PC: Intel i7 9700k 3.60 GHZ, 32GB ram, no graphics card. For encode my only options x264 and QSV ?
thank you 4 good video. can't you help me setting for stream and recording in the same time please?. Thank
Do you mean recording and streaming at the same time? I really wouldnt advice doing so with OBS studio. Rather stream on OBs and record e.g. with shadowplay
What settings do I put for my windows 10?
Check my new video: ua-cam.com/video/JRKmNU6U-E0/v-deo.html
Hey, very nice video, could you help me? what settings do you reccomend for pubg?
my issue is i think my cpu i much more powerful then my gpu,
should i still use nvenc? atm im using x264(cause i thought it would help with the pressure on the gpu) with a bitrate 5000, preset: veryfast and profil: main
Pc specs:
asus 1060 3 gb
r5 2600x
8 gb ram 3000 mhz
pc mate 350
internet speed: 50/50 mbits
You will have to test for yourself if x264 does provide enough gaming performance while streaming. However, I have run multiple gaming performance benchmarks while streaming and each time NVENC provided more in-game performance (on a i7-7700k and i9-9900k)
Higher bit rate=less performance?
Also I sometimes have jitters in my streams. Do I lower the quality so it doesn’t jitter?
NOTHING ELSE!
i left the bitrate to default (2500) and increased to 4k (i only record desktop apps)
just change the DOWNSCALE FILTER to LANCZOS and COMMON FPS VALUES to 24FPS. leave everything default and try.
The Amazing World Out There Alright, thanks and I will.
I can guarantee you that its not the Lanczos filter that helped you, but the fact that you lowered your recording FPS. In fact, Lanczos uses slightly more performance than billinear - Im currently working on a video looking at exactly that!
I have geforce gtx 210 and i7 does this work?
You cant use NVENC because your GPU is too old. But you could use x264 which likely will lag your game...
After a lot of years watching wrong videos on youtube explaining how to have the best settings on obs I finnaly found an amazing tutorial. Thank you dude.
Thank you so much man! I really tried to go beyond what is routinely available on YT (yes I watched them all too ;)) so I really appreciate your words :)
i get 11 - 12 mpbs should i then use 11k - 12k bitrate or 6k bitrate?
6k
I want to use a separate PC for streaming. That PC has an AMD FX 8370 is it good enough for only encoding? I have an 4.5 OC on the cpu.
I use an AMD FX-6300 and I can do 1080x60 for just encoding.
@@voodoogriff No skipped frames or bit rate fluctuations?
I mean is it stable enough?
@@Hirens. Correct. I average about 0.1% dropped frames over a 3 hour stream and my bitrate is stable at between 4-5k
Should definitely be fine imo. I use an i7-3770k in my streaming PC and it works very well

The question that I have is what I should upgrade about my pc because Im about to get a gtx 1070ti 8gb because I use my ghrapics card to stream with and I stream fortnite (ive heard from a lot of people that this game is all about ghrapics cards) so because of that reason I was like I should just buy a really good ghrapics card instead of upgrading all of the other parts of my pc because this card is way less expensive then upgrading all of the other parts of my pc but I am still not sure if this is the right decision to make. How do you think about it?
ben jij nederlands
@@bart6676 yep
I agree! For Fortnite you should really try to get the best GPU you can afford. CPU won't matter too much (although it naturally helps with performance while streaming).
@@TechGuides thanks for responding
Are the YUV color space and range settings you recommended in this video still up-to-date? Someone in the help text channel on the official OBS Community Discord server said that 709 and partial are recommended...
can I use same setting for youtube/facebook stream?
Great video! One question, I use a Logitech c920 webcam and everything looks fine until I start playing the games while streaming. Game looks great but the camera starts to get gritty. I'm currently streaming in x264 but I have 300 down with 20 up. Do you think switching to the other option (n sync?) would give me better quality? I have an i7700k with a. 1080ti
I tried this last night..same issue even with nvenc
Sounds rather like a bitrate limitation than wrong encoder settings. What bitrate are you streaming at?
6000
If you have discord bro I would love to chat, this has been going on for so long.....I could screen share and show you. I know thats a reach but I'm doing everything I can to fix this..or trying to anyway. Thanks Speedbre4ker

What if for some reason my streams for are unstable, even with minimal settings?

- MOBO: MSI B350M BAZOOKA microATX
- GPU: Asus Dual RX 580 8GB
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400MHz - 1x8GB (Adding another stick this week)
Id be outputting at 720p at 3.5k bitrate with OBS as High Priority but for some reason it still becomes unstable at times, and Ive got decent 10MB+ upload. With my old build I was capable at 1080p with the only real difference being the GPU: GTX 1070 and RAM: 16GB but at 3200MHz. Thoughts on what can be done to resolve this?
This was actually amazing, love how clear it was
thank you very much :)
Cheers man! Yes absolutely, I have a very similar system and would pick exactly the same on yours (NVENC with 6000 bitrate)
Speedbre4ker thanks man, looking forward to your next video
Thanks man, me too :p
What do you recommed for:i7 950 3.83ghz,gtx980ti? I just have to burn my dream like streamer?
You can always use NVENC and get pretty decent results without much performance impact :) What is your upload speed?
@@TechGuides right now,like 8mbps.
Im waiting for the 100mbps
You should still be able to use about 5000 kbps then, i.e. go with NVENC :)
All of the servers that appeared were all bellow 50 in the quality label, what should i do?
Get faster internet? No honestly, if you have low quality than either you do not have any servers nearby (high ping) or you have very low upload speeds (1000-3000kbps).
@@TechGuides my upload speed its 5/6
5-6 megabits? or what do you mean by 5/6?
Good video, quick question though. When streaming, my stream looks smooth (1080@60), however what I actually see in game gets choppy. For example, I am getting 144fps in-game while streaming, but it looks more like 60fps irl. I would think the choppiness would appear in the stream but it doesn't. Any idea as to how to remedy this?
Im not quite sure whats going on here. As long as you get more than 144 fps your game should be smooth... Which game are you playing?
Hey i have a question, if my bandwith to the best server is 4289 kbps so what is the best bitrate that i can use? and i btw my specs are Geforce GTX 960M 2GB, I7 - 7700K , and DDR4 RAM 20GB so,whats the best bitrate??
Im afraid your internet connection is barely capable of livestreaming.. You'll have to pick around 3000 as bitrate and use x264, i.e. you will experience quite some performance decrease while gaming
Speedbre4ker my Internet is 20mbps
Speedbre4ker and everytime i open OBS and stream, when i play csgo my fps dropping from 150+fps to 40-70 fps.

YUV Color Space
YUV Color Range

Honestly, I would highly recommend to get a direct Ethernet connection to your router instead of streaming over WIFI. It could very well be that you don't get enough throughput depending how far away your router is...
Yeah, im installing ethernet tomorrow and I fixed the frame droppage by lowering my bitrate till I found a stable one and that was 1000 bitrate. Thanks for the tip!

Is Ryzen 5 1600 & Gtx 1060 6gb and 8gb of ddr4 ram good enough for a pc to run and stream games at the same time?

Im slightly confused here. Are you using NDI with a two PC setup? Or just one PC to stream?

Quicksync leverages your CPU's integrated graphics unit - which as you said correctly, is usually simply idling. I have never used this option nor do I know what quality / performance you will get from it. If you have NVENC than definitely use it over QuickSync!
