I repaired a sony gv-500 video walkman last night. Bad surface mount capacitors of course. Happy to see it working perfectly. Your videos have helped alot, Thank you!
Need to find a digital 8 camera. The head is not replaceable, must be swapped as entire drum. Due to the speed it spins each unit is precision balanced
Yes, and you don't have to worry about a manual screwdriver not working because of dead battery or other malfunction. It's about variety. Use whatever you want. Good video!
I have one of these (GV-D200) that plays tape to about 90% of the play time (so like 110 mins on a 120) then starts to have track issues. Sometimes it gives a 'transport error'. I can't seem to find anybody that'll fix it for me. Any suggestions? I use to shoot concerts on 8mm and Hi-8 and still have the masters that I post to my channel, have a look if you're into classic rock.
@@12voltvids I have a sony dcr trv 250 for sale I got my other digital 8 camera fixed for playback in 2005 i dont need this. Last time it tried to play it just doesnt run but i think the head is ok. Would you want it
hey dave i have a crt related question. my crt has no picture. 200v rail is good, B+ is good, RGB in and out voltages are good on the crt board, but what's missing are the heater voltage from the flyback and the +12V and -15V voltages. does that sound like a bad flyback or a bad vertical deflection IC? i can't seem to figure out what is killing my picture. my flyback clicks instead of whining, maybe it is the flyback?
@@12voltvids i’ll tell you this because this is what i know so far. the B+ 135V pin comes up at 135V. the 200V pin comes up at 135V as well. i *think* this is normal, but the service manual is adamant about saying that the 200v rail from the flyback should be reading 200v, not anything less.
@@walle637 You need a scope to check for the drive pulse and output from the horizontal output transistor. With 10X probe attached as the pulse is about 1000 volts.

I'm not worried you'll find head for it... and will have another video to watch.

Also manually you don't over tighten and usually it is faster.

Shame about the GVD200, Have you ever worked on any miniDV handycams? like the TRV900?
To the trolls posting porn links, you are blocked, and any that get through will result in an immediate ban.
I have a digital 8 camera that doesnt work but the head is good woudl that be of interest for you?
Actually it would

The electric screwdriver might not save time but it does save the wrist after a long day of opening and closing equipment cases.
Yup. That's what I said.
Great video today !

How is the horizontal drive? If the horizontal circuit is not working there will be no HV and no voltages derived from the flyback.
@@12voltvids i’m sorry, excuse my ignorance, but where is the horizontal drive measured? what is the component to measure for that?

@@12voltvids doesn’t the HOT’s collector pin give off the 135 B+? are you saying it’s actually at its peak 1000 volts?
Well there had to be a dud head eventually.
You have done really well at getting most units working.
Can't win em all!.
