Thank the Lord she and her family survived, although I agree, why the hurricane, why the ripping apart of so many people's homes and lives? I'm a little tired of excusing all the horrible and negative and unspeakable acts in our lives with "it's part of God's plan" or we just "have to trust that God has his own reasons" or "it was God's will!" Well that's not a good enough explanation, so why is it so accepted by us, as Christians?

I mean since the concept of there being no God or Jesus is as proven as the concept of the existence of bigfoot, in other words, not proven beyond all reasonable doubt, then just in case, why not believe, even if you don't agree with it all or believe every story from the Bible? Lucky he didn’t ask me that on live TV. The moment I even heard the word “blessed” I would have lost it. Just watched an interview with her about this moment and what she's done since. So what she expressed in the video wasn't shame or embarassment, it was a bit of terror as she hadn't come out to basically anyone but her husband about being an atheist. So he was more or less outing her on a national broadcast. She wasn't ashamed, she was trying to grasp the fact that she was being practically forced into a life changing set of conversations she wasn't yet prepared to have, certainly not in the aftermath of the disaster.

Wolf Blitzer pissed me off here. She comes from a state that is HIGHLY religious and conservative and anyone who dares to say they are an atheist or liberal or both put themselves at risk for being harmed by religious weirdos. Which is most likely why she was so hesitant to say she's an atheist. She knew the danger she was put in. And he put her in that danger when he should have just let it go and not talk about his stupid god.
