I've been up close and personal with one of those beasts.. It was my 18th B-day, and I walked up to one of the drivers and asked if they could fire it up for me. They did.. And I had the biggest shit eating grin on my face. The sound of all those V8 engines firing in unison.. Music to my ears. I was deaf for about 5 hours afterward, but it was worth it. 5 426 HEMI big block V8 engines cranked up to about 2500 horsepower a piece screaming in my ears.. Best B-day present EVER
I 😊
Jesus they really just slapped 4 V8's with superchargers on some metal scaffolding and called it a day.
JESUS DIDNT HAVE A GODDAMN THING TO DO WITH THAT SON THAT IS ALL MAN MADE RIGHT THUR
These engines run on pure democracy
I think you mean freedom. Democracy is for immigrants and terrorists.
🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅fr
THATS A SLIPPERY SLOPE IF I EVER HEARD IT IDK IF YOU WANT THESE ENGINES RUNNING ON JUST ANYTHING, THAT BETTER BE AMERICAN DEMOCRACY
Bro they look like the ultimate bad piggies build

What a show. Masterpieces of engineering. These guys must have deep pockets. 300K+ a tractor in this division I'm guessing here? Thanks for uploading.
They are incredible machines for sure!! Thank you for watching!
You better be rich to get into this sport.
Those tractors represent millions of dollars in their operations.
Each alcohol engine alone would be 90k times 4 plus maintenance and repairs through a season including diffs planetary setups tyres fuel, engine rebuilds, would be close to a mil to run one of these for a season. Plus transport also.
@@trentmatthews5521 a bit more
tthis is just pure metal !!
How does the transfer box combine 4 engines props into 1 gearbox with that much torque going on? And how long does it last?!
Most engines are piggy backed' you then get 2 output shafts to the crossbox then to the gearbox , slipper clutches like crower & hayes are used ............
TRACTOR BEAM ME UP SCOTTY
Tractor pulling das ist geil
this is amazing. I need to see in person
Go watch the semi trucks pull these are great but those are amazing
Just watching this on my phone the lucas oil tractor hook gave me goosebumps 😳 I can only imagine what it would be like in person.
I haven't been to those events in 10 years, but my body remembers the feeling even through the phone speakers. It is quite something! All of those shown are from the unlimited category. They end the night with those bad boys. It is WAY too loud to get to right from the get go. They usually start with much smaller rigs, to (ease) the way in. By the time that category comes in, your ears are already (numbed) a bit, yet it Still rings hella hard!
I miss those man.
Best place to stand while watching this, well there's 2 different way of thinking. At the start, where you can hear it revving from 0 to hero carefully to not kick out of the lane :D, or near the end, where its at 100% and the driver stabilized the course
I like the little wheelbarrow wheels on the front, keep wondering how they handle all the weight, of the engines, great videos thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones, and all have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a prosperous New Year
The little wheels often don't handle the weight. The trick is to balance the machine so the front just glances off the ground, while the pressure in the big tires is equal so the little wheels aren't needed for steering.
My guess is they're aircraft tires. Those fighter jets can weigh 20/ 30/40,000 lbs.
@@Red-rl1xx I don't know that ALL of those little tires are aircraft tires, but having had conversations with some of the owners and looking at some, I can say with certainty that SOME of them are aircraft tires.

Awesome footage 👏 👍🇺🇸
Thank you!
Huh the sled weight is sponsored by my college
Damn those v8s sound good.
1.44 min till 1.55 min sounds is insane
This kind of feels like Twisted Metal
Hear the power, feel the noise
Looks like several spectators enjoyed that
I thought the same. All the money in equipment and barely anyone there.
because the libtards wouldn’t allow tickets because they are in fear of some cold
I wanna build one of these with three or four Dodge Viper V10s. Stroker cranks, bored out, twin turbos, running E85… should be a beast and sound like nothing else! lol
Take out a 40 year loan on your house and get cracking!
It’s all in the heads…. that’s why The HEMI engine will never be beaten - and thats also why you don’t see viper engines in top fuel dragsters…
I would like to see some John Kaase Boss 429 HEMI based mountain motor engines in these machines though
Forget dirty songs. Tractors. Enough said ❤
There really is a sport for every kinda person lol 😆
166👍's up BDM thanks for sharing
ABSOLUTELY-----> OUTSTANDING! 🙂
Cool Stuff right there!
Main shafts are extremely strong to handle such pressure.
What weight has to be dragged?
7800 pounds for the super modified.
It's more about the fact that as the weight gets further down the track, there's a mechanism on the bottom that digs into the mud and drastically increases the force requires to move the sled
@@thoomish3556let’s not forget the dirt piled in front of the sled as they spin.
Is that a normal crowd size? Looks like maybe only a couple hundred people.
No not normal but this place also seats something like 30k people so also seems smaller than it actually is.
Not like the crowds I remember back in the day. I've seen the Astro Dome packed full for a truck & tractor pull. Times have changed.

@@birdshenanigans8506 People got soft.....
It astounds me that not everyone wants to pay in exchange for hearing loss, and breathing in dust and exhaust fumes for a few hours.
Here, my uncle is great 👍👍
the big v8s and jet engine powered pullers are cool but there is something different about massive diesel engines spitting out enough black smoke to turn the weather around with the biggest turbos know to man
wish I had an engine like that
Sponsored by Binford Tools
Uh oh where's Tim and al😄
@@lornperkins4270 hahaha, yes!
The sled is too effective, rarely get full pulls, be an incredible experience to watch though with the sound 😍

So what kind of turbos are those and how can I strap one to a Honda
How do jet powered tractors transmit power to the ground? I assume there is some sort of coupling but I’m wondering if it’s clutch based or something else. Would have to be special to handle that many RPMs
Most likely the jet engines powering a secondary turbine controlled by a wastegate. check out Jet-turbine powered cars like the 1968 howmet :) it's pretty cool stuff, when i have time and money i need to build one of these!
lIke a turbo prop heli. just with way lower gearing.
@@fishtailfuture Let's see, I've known about turboshafts for about 30 years and up until now I thought it was the force of the thrust from the engines that powered those sleds.
Andddddd.... facepalm 🤦♂
@@bluehealer81 I must have had a few that night 2 weeks ago. Yes, I was pretty much stating the obvious. What can I say 🤦♂
@@fishtailfuture I'm not being sarcastic. I love tractor pulls but I never got into the nuts and bolts of them other than VROOOM LOUD NOISE SLED GOES OVER THERE. I mean I work with helicopters that are powered by a turboshaft and yet my brain never thought turbine engine connected to turboshaft connected to wheels. Because I'm dumb. lol
It's like an offshoot from the cars movie
Fantastic video, do diesels run in a separate class?
You can build diesels for this class but nobody has. Most tractor classes are diesel except for a few alcohol tractor classes.
America, fuck yeah!!! (Team America)😂
If you stacked up five of those engines or used an Atlas rocket you'd win every time. Anyway, how many acres can one of those machines plow in a day?
How can such small front tires hold all that multi-engine weight and the lead plates( some classes) ?
WALSH BROS.

U bratku sigma najszybszy to ten niebieski Caly
bro i live where i can hear the drag strip from my house and i never knew they did tractor pulls there
Dear Santa.........
why are the tires so damn bald in the first clip? is it regulation? only so deep of tread?
Can anyone answer a few questions?
Why no big diesel engines with gobs of torque? Why those tires instead of tracks or tires with serious tread?
Well I can answer this. Too much tread on the tires will cause the tractor to dig down and sink into the ground way more when the weight on the sled gets to the front. You have to find the happy medium
At what point can a tractor no longer be called a tractor
They call these "modified tractors"!! hahaha! Can you imagine driving down the road and hearing and seeing one of these things plowing a field?
It would be spectacular 🤣🤣
Hell yeah
Does the weight of the trailer change over time or distance?
how much hp does it have?
is it like 1000hp each engine or more?
Question why do some arena things have 2 tracks as in uk where I go to watch they only have 1 or is the 2nd one not in use
2 is to have more classes at said event and to run them faster.
How heavy are those trailers?
I don't really know who won, but that is actually awesome! For tractors! 😆
Also: Why did the Irish Challenger get disqualified. This is beyond be, but I'd like to know.
He didn’t come to a complete clean stop. The bounce at the end disqualified him.
@@Waves4now I see, so I guess the tractor can't bounce while pulling? Or if it jumps that's the end or a DQ?
@@Haze-Haze exactly. It’s not really the bounce itself. It was the last bounce that got him because it gives off the impression you’re just trying to use raw torque to gain an extra foot or two.
i cant stop laugh, this fkin front wheels XDDDDDDD
I fully get that bigger front tires aren't needed, but why not put something that doesn't look so silly?
HEMI Power 💪
How many tons does the machine that the tractors pull weigh?
35lbs
60,000 pounds fully loaded
Think I would have expected more from the jet powered tractor than that
Is the 2nd one nitromethane? It has those fumes
No, it's methanol as well, but it's running rich. The fumes are unburnt methanol, but they do look like nitro.
Why are they suddenly stoppimg while they are going with no probelm ? Why its enough power to move before but not after ?
The "sled" gets harder to pull the longer they go.
It digs into the dirt more the further it progresses down the track
@@thoomish3556 Thanks man. I tried to figure out the reason but I couldn't.
gokse
Not many spectators?
WyPePo... ya see how we act? 😁
How much power do those nitro methane v8s make a piece?
These engines are not running Nitro - you tell by the exhaust colour
they run just straight methanol and I would say they are producing in the region of 3000 - 3500 horsepower each engine
@@user-tp4nn3mk3r ahh thank you! That’s incredible! I always assumed they were identical to funny car engines but I guess not
não é motorista de trator é piloto de trator
I fukin love this planet
We need to see these vs. a Cybertruck
What fuel do these tractors use ?
Methanol for the blown V8s, Jet A (refined kerosene) for the turbines.
They all have minimum 10,000 horsepower, yet each one stops due to wheelspin. So what's the winning trick, tyre pressure, tyre type? Throttle control?
lifting the front wheels a little
This video has a good explanation of the sport the machines and the strategies if you’re interested. ua-cam.com/video/VZ6_8WJ3mh8/v-deo.html
at 3:50 he realises on of the belts blew but he clearly forgot he has 3 more engines like really/ thats a joke obv so dont hate on it
What’s the power figures on these
Around 12k hp.
How much does one of these quad engine monsters cost to build?
More than i got thats all i know lol id guess 500k maybe ish top to bottom but i have no idea.
Now that is awesome pure out right raw mega hore power pulling competition..just like Nascar. Top fuel funny car racing and top fuel dragster racing 🏁 competition..every spectator having an ice cold beer 🍻 chili dog 🍣 and lays frito pies..now that's all american
I'm going to guess that these events aren't paid for by ticket sales.
Расскажите правила этого соревнования?
Believe the only rules are about engine size. To be put in a specific class. And there is a certain distance to be pulled in order to be a "full" pull
ua-cam.com/video/VZ6_8WJ3mh8/v-deo.html interesting video about the sport, explains how the sled works etc.
Why on earth would you want to pull such heavy weights, it just decreases gas milage?
Only if the nutsothruster on the heffershaft isn’t torqued to spec, tbh

NO poor framers here !
Man, that crowd size is pitiful. Sign of the times for sure.
Nah not really. Lets one factor in this was a first time event. Also factor in that place seats over 30k people. Been to many a packed full stands this year. All is well.
@@BUILTDIESELMAFIA I'm old enough to remember truck and tractor pulling back in the 80s and 90s, the shit has changed. Not as ma y people interested in this type activities, young people today would rather sit home and play video games. Most of the people into this shit have already died off. I've been watching the attendance drop on not only truck& tractor pulling, but drag racing, oval track racing, pretty much all motorsports. Pay attention and you'll see.
