lol hi Jason n Jen, Wow I hope your garlic does well, that’s one plant that I’ve always struggled with 😳🙄 Sure did look nice planting them in their own little space. I can’t wait to see how they do. And btw, so nice of Kim to send them to y’all. Stay safe, warm and God Bless ❤
Hi Pam!👋 Fingers crossed they do well. Hope they are nothing like our potatoes!🤪 It was very nice of Kim to send them to us!! Take care and God bless!♥️🙏♥️
Got idea for potatoes that I used 1 tire cut off side wall fill with straw or leaves. Cut side up. Put 2 seed potatoes on top cover with dirt per tire. As plants grow add another cut tire and fill with straw max about 3 tires. I've grown russet using this plan.
I usually plant mine Halloween week except this year when I planted early October. For me here, I plant 4 inches deep and 4 inches apart and ensure they get good compost come spring. Most people I know plant 2 inches deep and 4-6 inches apart. Their method works for them and mine for me. All come out great either way so it may not make a difference.
Ever thought of putting the chickens in the garden to scratch out the grubs and such that will be dormant now but will come to life in summer and eat your veggies?
We have but that would require us to let the chickens in an area uncovered and we decided it wasn’t worth the risk. We have quite a lot of aerial predators. 😊

I am so laughing at the "everyone in Maine can grow potatoes but us" 😂. Yes you can ❤

Happy growing 😊
