I heard this from psychologist Sadia Khan on youtube:
There are 2 needs in life: attachment and authenticity.
If you sacrifice authenticity (being true to yourself) for attachment (relationship with someone you think you want), it won't last long-term. If you sacrifice an attachment for authenticity, you will set yourself up to attract someone who will truly match who you are, and it will be able to stand the test of time.

FYI: Sadia Khan did not get a PhD in psychology.

Your commentary on repentance brings to mind Bob Newhart's routine on going to the psychologist and telling him that something hurts, and the psychologist says, "Well - stop it." I find it very funny. Know that's not where you were going with that, but it came to mind.

'Shoulda gotten to know his parole officer'...LOL! Love your straight face delivering these lines 😊 My dad was like this, 'OK, what can you do differently next time?' when teaching me a skill. God is my Father.

Last relationship was not “sustainable to my soul”, but gave in, thinking it was love. God broke it up, by causing him to bolt, for no valid reason, after two years. Thank you for being my confirmation for this. 25 year follower, you are so amazing. 💖

    This was good....right on time.
I have experienced being around others who didn't accept me for me.
I have worked in jobs that were not me....
Both instances left me miserable and also depressed.

Interestingly, I was asked for a friend request. I asked this person to be a confidant because I was going to build a hospital, and he is a doctor. He represented everything my late husband sought to be. My Andrew went to school to study endocrinology but was unable to complete it. My husband supported the building of the Alma Illery Intergrated Medicine Hospital. I believe that I engaged in a cat fishing episode b/c I have not spoken to this person that seemed to be a reality-tv show indirectly. I can see transference going on here, and I need to apologize. 20:17

Current time of video is 18:13/20:17. Dr. Cloud, for me your topic, your delivery and your content is taking my breath away given the accuracy of your content. You are AMAZING in helping to transform those of us who are aware of having been shaped by patterns for not being true to themselves. I applaud you and your work!

Thank you Dr. Cloud, praise God for you! I will try and share what I have learned from the Holy Spirit through His Chosen Church Family! I hope to write about this too how much the Lord loves us as He says giving us His Word! yes! repent! Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom! I have received the gift of repentence from thinking the Lord didn't love me and turned towards Him so that His Perfect Love and Grace (His Choice) flows over me and the World! This is True Worship with joy with soul harmony with the Lord! woo hoo! Bless you ! 😇

Yet again Dr. Cloud, you nailed it! Just what the missing piece to to puzzle of what do I do now. Instead of How can I make this work it's how can this work for me? Brilliant. I wish I'd learned this years ago. My life is better from what you've shared about your life! Wow. Truly

I signed up to do something where I have to not “be myself” all day and all week. After resigning teaching, I took another teaching job when I moved back to my hometown. I thought it would be ok. I needed to make money to help my kids, and to pay our mortgage.
It was not - is not - ok.
Every day is a struggle with so much anxiety and stress. I can’t enjoy anything in life, can’t sleep, feel ill and exhausted all the time.
I knew better, but I have a habit of always saying yes.

Fast and pray about it! Ask the Lord to help you find something that you really like to do! He will answer you, and help you find out what it is that you are supposed to be doing.

So hard. I pretend to be fine when with my Daughter in Law, because I love my Son and Grandchildren. I do what I am suppose to do to appease her meanness. ( She is a Narcissist) I believe in my heart, that I do this because I know my son is going to need support in the future. I put on my happy Face, grit my teeth and play the game. I know God has a plan, and I must be patient.

Romans 12, 1-2 tells to find God's will for You. 1. Pray 2. Don't let the world squeeze you into a mould you are not. Don't do something to change yourself into something unsustainable.

I don't like the word repent. I agree with your publishers. It is too evangelical. It is something I hear zealots saying and preaching in the streets. Although that is not your meaning, it had the feeling of condemnation. It comes of as repent now or your going to hell. Take care and thanks.

You could die today and you would go to hell.
WE can choose, thats the Love of GOD ,free will . My decision can Take me to hell or to heaven. Choose today.

Repent is a hard word. Jesus said it. It stinks following scripture. All you really need to know are the words "narcissist," and/or "gas-lighter." Follow your heart, abandon those harsh words in scripture and read more Dr. Cloud and Lysa
