Great job pushing these videos out left to right & always love hearing your input but one of the vids I’m waiting on is your early impression of Aquilaria Blossum. Hopefully coming out soon 🤞🏽
Yes i will do a video on it soon...its a tough one for me to break down as I only have a little juice ... but hopefully coming soon... there is just so much to get to and so little time 🥵
Ramsey, have you sampled Wazamba by PdE yet? Couldn't find the Le Vetiver's but I did find Figaro. Lubin got rid of the bottle too. Those were really good individually styled bottles. Should have picked them up when LuckyScent was dumping them. Enjoyed the video. Lots of fun.
I haven’t tried the others on your list, but I too used to love Ani in my early years of collecting, but lately when I reach for it, I cant understand why I loved it. Im just not into it anymore. And I have a back up bottle…lol
Yeah I have that same vintage bottle of Chypre Palatin. I will always love it . I too feel its been reformulated and haven’t bought a larger bottle. I wish I had a larger vintage bottle. Oh well…sigh
@@RamseytheRam I completely agree with u about Amouage. They made a huge mistake letting Mr Chong go. I don’t like anything thats been released since he left. I tried to like them. But no. I also don’t like anything from by Kilian. I find everything weak, boring and way overpriced. I don’t get the hype. Same with Le Labo. I cant stand anything they put out. Its just ok, basic boring perfumes I’ve smelt before for a lot less. Ah I miss authentic oak moss in perfumes. Damn u IFRA….
Roja Vetiver is dang good but yeah, for a fraction of the price, Guerlain and Tom Ford got us covered. I believe its Litsea cubeba and/or lemon verbena that makes that citrus top stick.
Invasion Barbare is very smooth, but I think the violet leaf note adds some sharpness that lasts for a decent bit of time. I like it quite a bit but I'm not sure if I need a bottle. For me, my top 3 MDCI are Chypre Palatin>>Fetes Persanes>Invasion Barbare. As far as Chypre Palatin goes, I bought a bottle directly from MDCI in 2020. It is pretty dark in color, but not quite as dark as my original formulation 60ml. I honestly love my newer bottle, and haven't quite been able to "get" the 60ml yet. It smells less sweet, greener, and not as strong. It also seems to take longer to open up than my new bottle.
Enjoyed the two vids, Ramsey, as always! I never understood the like for Ormonde Man. I guess I didn't go from love to hate, just took the shortcut to hate. haha It's all good, we all have our preferences. I do really like the discontinued Black Gold from the brand. Btw, just wanted to clarify the Roja EDP vs Parfum thing since what you've said isn't quite accurate. Before Elysium came out the main men's line (Enigma, Scandal, Danger, Vetiver) each came in EDP and Parfum/Extrait concentrations. I.e., you had a choice to purchase the EDP or the Parfum. I believe the EDP was $315 and the Parfum was $450. When Elysium came out, he came up with what he thought was a break through concentration. It had the brightness and lift of a cologne but the longevity and heft of an EDP. He called that concentration Parfum Cologne. So, Elysium came in Parfum Cologne (PC) concentration and Parfum concentration (no EDP for the first time). He priced the PC at $240. Because of what he perceived to be the success of this "new" concentration, he decided to do the same for the rest of the line and discontinue the EDPs. So, Enigma, Danger, Scandal, and Vetiver all got PC concentrations and he discontinued the EDPs for those. I remember because I had bought Danger EDP during this change, but they were out of it. So, they instead decided to send me the Parfum for the price I paid for the EDP. They even asked me if that was okay. haha So, just a slight technicality that he didn't replace the EDPs with Parfums to double the price. The Parfums have always existed alongside the EDPs, but he discontinued the EDPs in favor of the cheaper PCs. Now, are the PCs better than the EDPs? That's a judgment call. Oligarch was obviously way later down the road and I don't know the story behind the EDP getting axed for the Parfum for that one.
Thanks for the backstory Interference... the story with Ologarch is MAKE MORE MONEY! Or so I would guess 😂😂😂🤷♂️ To be fair I love the stuff and I think Oligarch is one of the classiest summer frags you can wear to the office... that being said even if the parfum is eye rolling good I aint parting with 500 bones for a 50 ml bottle ☠️

Invasion barbare is just not for me.... but Chypre Palatin is.. Heritage is a totally different beast with the patchouli & heritage has 26 notes... its complexity is unmatched... i will continue to wear Invasion Barbare so I can ultimately do a review on the channel... but for me... if I ever buy a full bottle of anything from MDCI it would be Chypre Palatin 😊
Great video is always thanks bro. I should have left this comment on the other video. Hearing you talk about it inspired me to wear it more and now I really love it. My partner is not the biggest fan when I wear it though ha ha

@@RamseytheRam I sometimes really surprise myself when I come back to a fragrance i avoid. Even when i try something for a week or two and decide i dont like it, i’ll come back to it in a few months and it will smell different. I honestly think my mood plays a huge role in how I perceive any particular fragrance day to day.
@@RamseytheRam I will say that like you, I am drawn more and more to fragrances of years past. I swear the idea behind Ani was to just take Aventus and pour a bunch of vanilla extract in it. I was high on Nishane for a while, but at this point the only ones I still like are B-612 and Sultan Vetiver. And I don’t even wear those as much as I used to because the amberwood base gets more and more prominent to me over time.
