We are glad to have you at Gold Seal. An online ground school, all by itself, is never Part 141. Ground schools must be paired with specific flight training at a flight school that is operating under Part 141. Part 61 versus Part 141 is really a distinction between flight schools.
If I take online ground school through Gold Seal and sign up for a 141 flight school, will I have to repeat my ground school? I want to be efficient with my money and like the idea of learning online through Gold Seal, but don't want to waste money if I'll be made to repeat the process in the school
You earn a "private pilot certificate" regardless of whether you trained Part 61 or Part 141. No difference in the outcome, and you're trained to the same standards either way.
You should mention that hours don't transfer from 141 to another school. If you go to another 141 school you will have to start over (that's what I was told at least)
Transferring hours is a great point! A certain percentage of hours are eligible for transfer, but we wanted this video to be a very broad overview. 14 CFR 141.77(c) provides the percent of hours eligible for transfer depending on the type of school being transferred to/from and a student's progress.
Absolutely fantastic video. Glad to see gold seal uploading again. Any idea of when we could see another Mock Checkride?
Have a question? Can I do Part 61 to get my PPL only and then do the aviation degree to get RATP?
I just signed up at Gold Seal. Love the trading thus far. Did I sign up for 61 or 141. Not sure I had an option". I like the sound of 61.

Great video!
Thanks!
Nate's great on camera.

Your Part 141 school is required to use the ground school specified in their 141 application. But ask them. Maybe they're already using Gold Seal.
@@GoldSealFlight thank you for the quick reply! I appreciate it
So what do the both ultimately end with? Your private license but what is the license #? Are private license called part 61?

So, 141 for full time school, 61 for people with jobs?
Not necessarily. There are hundreds of flight schools that operate under 141 and the vast majority of their customers don't go fulltime.

Which of them would be quicker if I fly full time
Technically, Part 141 requires fewer hours, but in all liklihood, you'll probably end up with about the same either way.
First!
