I think inside is my favourite game ever I played it a couple night ago for the billionth time and stayed up all night and then the next day played it again
The world record for this game is 59 minutes and 58 seconds. There are 114155.251 years in 1 billion hours. At the time of your comment the game had been out for 7 years. Not quite enough time to play through it that many times, let alone do anything else in between.

There are 3 radios that play this tune, each located near one of the secret orbs. Among the rooftops, in first upside down room and in the secret using elevator - the last secret, so just before unlocking the tune lever, if you've managed to find all of them at first run. Nice analysis. Arnt and Dino Patti used about 8 years to develop this game, Limbo was the start. They were thinking about this genius game 2 years before launch of Limbo! Now Arnt is making a new game, and Patti left to make Somerville. He left because Arnt is maybe 12 years in the making of his last game (maybe). If you could understand Danish, there is an podcast Arkaden episode 120 in 3 hours about the making. I will support your channel, fantastic humour! ❤😊 Cheers from Denmark (where Playdead is from)

Amazing video. Can't believe it has this few views, but you really gottta keep going man. The algorithm will notice you eventually, because this is so good.
Hey there, great video! Just wanted to note that an official soundtrack for the game has never been released, I made the unofficial version (it’s on my other channel, Artyom Solomatin) and the titles were given by me also, so these are not valid hints for analysis
I still to this day wonder about the shockwave segment. What is that thing? Why would it even have been built? It's far, far too powerful for where and what it is. That things is ripping apart the facility, almost as if the entire building is yelling at you to stop. Stop going deeper, stop asking questions, yet it's just another obstacle.
When i reached that part of the game i was crying, it reminded me of war and how terrifying that sound was and the shockwave that comes after it hopping it's not nearing me with death, so i always thought that part was an embodiment of war and how terrifying it is.
Is crazy how there are so many theories out there about a hole bunch of thing to me . Even tho this is all up to you to decide how you see the ending. But this is exactly what I got from the game. Why do we play video games when we could be doing much more with our lives like making a difference weather is spending more times with your family friends kids etc. inside tell me that playing video games is just like any other drug out there and by unplugging your self or continuing to play video games your making the choice to free your self from your addiction and make more with your time then play your life away or stay plugged in because gaming is your only scape we mentally have. So is funny how the game is about escaping but we never really do escape. No matter what you do in a game you are being told what to do and were to do it. So you’re being controlled. On another hand in real life you go to your 9-5 and are being told what to do and when to do it. So you are really never in controlled. So do we really have free will after all?
I do speedrun the game occasionally so I have played it a fair bit, but even after spending many hours in its world, your analysis still brought some findings to light that I had previously overlooked! When Inside intially came out, I couldn't help but feel that it was really solid but not as great as Limbo, but as the years go by, I feel like it truly is the better game of the two. Despite knowing its mechanics inside (heh) and out and having met some of its developers, there's still so many mysteries in the game. This game is definitely up there as one of my most favorite games ever.
One thing is worth to mention. If you loved this atmosphere amd the vibe check out scorn. Its not as cute as inside graphic wise but similar when it comes to the story telling. Another thing i want you to notice, i watched on mobile - this video was way too dark to see details. Like the entry of the alt ending was pixelated black. But i played it more then once to know what is to see. Great explaining and focusing on details
Thank you for this amazing video! inside has always been one of my favorite games and i finally got the chance to play it. What a great way to wrap up my own play through. secret ending goes insane btw did not know abt that. ur the coolest, this should definitely have more views!!
Is the music in the intro the battery room music from Stray? That's one of my favorite pieces of the soundtrack. I'm about positive it is but maybe it's just an augmented arpeggio with a really similar timbre. A few months ago I suggested Inside to someone because of this video and they played it but I still haven't played it myself yet.
Thanks! I like to find the balance between entertainment, interesting talking points and talking about things people are currently interested in (and doing my own thing sometimes)

@@Sm0k3turtYou might've already looked it up by now, but just in case... If you wait there for a while, a shadowed figure will peek through and shut the door.
This game scares me because if mind control became a thing, we all know people in power would use that against the lower class. You know, given the chance, if given the possibility that shit would happen in real life! God, I hope they never invent mind control. And if they do, it’s really easy to break out of it like in those movies where your friend gets mind controlled and then you give them a speech about how their a good friend and a good person and you’ve been through so much together and then they get out of the mind control.
What if the girl from limbo is the original water girl from inside? That in both games your trying to reach your "master". The original game you're controlled by that girl (experiment #1) and that in the sequel you're controlled by the blob. Would explain that things went wrong in the first game/experiment and now they're trying with the Blob.

I really like the video, it's very well done. But you really needed to up the brightness in game before this. Sometimes you can't tell what's happening, I still can because I've played it but still.
I know. Big mistake on my part. That game is SUPER dark and UA-cam isn’t great with darkness historically so me being as inexperienced as I am. This was inevitable. Thanks for watching it though!
The theory I've stuck with was that the boy was being controlled by the blob. And once the game ends, you're just deeper in the facility. You're video was great. The game definitely has a lot to do with control, and the control. The one thing I wonder is, Red's sleeve. The whole game one of his sleeves are up. And then in the elevator crash, you can see him rolling up his sleeve again if you watch him get his breath back. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, or it actually means something.

Did you know that the puppet people actually have an official name? They’re known as “albinos”, I inferred this after looking at the soundtrack and noticing that the track that plays during the first mind control puzzle in titles “albinos”. Pretty interesting.
@@Sm0k3turt this game still blow my mind, i wish developer atleast give us the real story, because we have been living on theories. The huddle never escaped, then what's the point of the boy to cross so many obstacles to reach the huddle? Crazy
No offence, but I did find your video somewhat shallow. For a game this great you could have talked about a whole lot of things like in a real video essay. Yet all you did was summarize the story with poetic terms and sentences. I don't want to discredit your work too much, because I know that there is a ton of work behind this video in the script. Your wording and articulation is mesmerizing, yet you waste it on the literal level of the narrative. Sure the intention wasn't a 'video essay' but a retroperspective on a game, which I totally get. Making a video about this glorious game is a fine way to express your feelings for the game (which you perfectly did) and to broaden the playerbase that play this game. Instead of telling the story in 30 Minutes, you could have driven deeper into the specifics for this game. Information about sounddesign and its publishing is somewhat never discussed. Information like the soundtrack being recorded through a real skull would have been a great addition. Breaking the story into chunks and filling the breaks with knowledge like this. Especially the soundtrack being recorded through a skull could have been mentioned to justify further more an interpretation of the game, because you the player doesn't hear the music as 'red' but as someone who is intercepting his brain. Your 5 minutes analysis was going into the right direction but fell somewhat short. You can build a case through multiple examples to justify your interpretation about the themes. And here lies also one of the problems, which led me to write this comment: There is a big chunk missing on how the story is set up from the beginning. Easter eggs like the door being shut at 21:40 or how when you crash with the submarine into one of the lockers, a little huddle comes out of it. With such information, one can start interpreting the story way more explicitly. There is this really cool cross-section of the entire map on the internet, which shows that yes the game gets always lower with each level, basically showing the viewer how deep this rabbit hole goes and with each level one dives into insanity with the later levels having a surreal experience (floating water). There is also something really big missing in this story. You don't talk about the hidden station-links that was some kind of an ARG that had to do with the Morse code printer in the lap (Don't quote me on how this worked, I literally can't remember it too, but there was a video on this). Then there are also little Easter eggs non canon, with the Limbo boy being a sprite somewhere (can't remember where in detail, but there is also a video about it). I think you also could have talked about the attention to detail in the animations, like how you can fall on your back on the first secret orb or how the character runs slow if he is exhausted. My favorite is the one where you hang over this really big hatch in the "inception"-part, where if you just open it, the guards at the bottom will notice and will bring one of these gigantic robots that shoot these electric harpoons, if you wait long enough. TLDR: Really like how you have the thing for words and editing in your video, but it fails on lacking information about the game and a too short of an analysis. I don't want to discourage you. I can see that this was a passion project and that you are happy with it as it should be for a content creator. Edit: Maybe I will find the videos. I will share the link with a later edit. Found it, all my points in this video, except the door that closes at the timestamp: ua-cam.com/video/XfoNxS11RdM/v-deo.html Timestamp Easter Egg: ua-cam.com/video/A9fDn4d6uvU/v-deo.html
Interesting! Thanks for the constructive criticism! I agree for the most part that the video isn’t as in depth as it could be. @@Sm0k3turt of course ! A game that I’d love for you to do an Essay/Retrospective on would be “The Forest” or “Layers of Fear”!
UA-cam recommending this to me is a true W i absolutely love inside
Glad you enjoyed!
Sm0ke, I loved this video so much, I had to hit the like button!
Cheers from Denmark (where Playdead is from)
Thanks for watching and enjoying! Yeah I loved Somerville and am super excited for COCOON. I always love supporting all kinds of games and media! ^^
bro how do you have less than 10k??? your content is awesome. i played this game as a kid and it meant so much to me and this video is super interesting.. clicked on your channel excepting you to be at least at 700k. bro youtube sucks sometimes but keep your head up. subbed and turned on the notifs. we all need a little pick me up sometimes, i hope this was for you. as someone who can’t afford games i use this kinda content to experience them for myself so i’m super grateful to you. have a good man, keep up the good work!!! s

The most perfect game ever created and an undeniable example of the artistic merit of the medium
Amazing video. Can't believe it has this few views, but you really gottta keep going man. The algorithm will notice you eventually, because this is so good.
Thanks man! Appreciate that. Spreading me around yourself too helps a lot aswell! Word of mouth is powerful! Glad you enjoy.

Another banger, keep it up bro.

27:00 my personal theory for this is that the shockwave that broke the mind control helmet somehow made its effects permanent
Subjective game! Any interpretation is correct.
Hey there, great video! Just wanted to note that an official soundtrack for the game has never been released, I made the unofficial version (it’s on my other channel, Artyom Solomatin) and the titles were given by me also, so these are not valid hints for analysis
Oh I wasn’t aware! Regardless of them being official. I found the interpretations of the tracks appropriate. Thanks for uploading them!!
This game is easily my fav indie game. It may even be on my Mt. Rushmore of all games.
The Quality of your analysis is always fantastic 👍👍
Thank you! I try to make good stuff
@@Sm0k3turt really good video, but it's super super dark for me
I do speedrun the game occasionally so I have played it a fair bit, but even after spending many hours in its world, your analysis still brought some findings to light that I had previously overlooked!
When Inside intially came out, I couldn't help but feel that it was really solid but not as great as Limbo, but as the years go by, I feel like it truly is the better game of the two. Despite knowing its mechanics inside (heh) and out and having met some of its developers, there's still so many mysteries in the game. This game is definitely up there as one of my most favorite games ever.
really sorry to intrude but you joined youtube EIGHTEEN YEARS AGO?? WHAT
Awesome video! Thank you for making it :)
Thanks! I appreciate the support. That secret ending is something I’ve thought about for years. It was the biggest inspiration for the thumbnail.
god damn i love this video
Thanks!
This essay was fantastic
Thanks! Sorry it’s so damn dark!
25:39 they are like the “mindless” but I think as a prototype
Thank you for making this video
Thanks for watching it!
I haven’t watched the full video yet so i don’t know if you mention this but the start to both games reminds me a lot of Dante’s inferno
Very true. Both games have a descent vibe. The only thing that’s missing that makes Inside better is that it’s not obviously pretentious.
...oh okay thats the wrong inside i meant the netflix special. banger vid still tho
i love both w all my heart LMAO
@@lovetoodeeply based inside outtakes was good too did not expect a song abt the chicken crossing the road to break my heart
this should have more views
Thanks man! Spread the word. The algorithm sure doesn’t.
It’s from the new system shock actually. Also play prey lol
Inside, Bloodborne,... you have excellent tastes, sir ! :)
Thanks! I like to find the balance between entertainment, interesting talking points and talking about things people are currently interested in (and doing my own thing sometimes)

@@Sm0k3turt Seriously ?! Who is it possible ? there 2 first games where both excellents, had really good reviews and commercial success !
EDIT: Are you sure ? In 2022 they've release 2 artworks of their next game, and i don't see any news of the studio's dead.
They are still making games, but they split up into two studios. One made Somerville and the other is working on something called Cocoon.
Fun Fact: There is an easter egg in the area at 21:38 from the glowing green light behind the door.
I don’t see it. What should I be looking for? Also thanks for watchin!
Fascinating
This is on par with Racevik/Whitestar levels of quality.
Keep grinding. The algorithm will pick you up eventually
That means a lot man! I think I’m more D Tier than those legends but it’s a nice thought!
AMAZING GAME!! thank you
And fxxx YOOUUU for that Foxy jumpscare 😭😂. Had to grab my soul back.
Don’t lose it!
What if the girl from limbo is the original water girl from inside? That in both games your trying to reach your "master". The original game you're controlled by that girl (experiment #1) and that in the sequel you're controlled by the blob. Would explain that things went wrong in the first game/experiment and now they're trying with the Blob.
So you think Inside's a prequel? Interesting to think about
I personally think trying to connect them is pointless as they aren’t really thematically related.
I really hope the third game is coming soon! Haven't heard even an update on it in a long time, though.
SOMERVILLE came out a while ago. COCOON has yet to be released.
@@Sm0k3turt I meant the third playdead game. I'm playing Somerville now after you mentioned it. Definitely not as quality as limbo/Inside that's for sure. haha. Glad it was on Gamepass.
Amazing work
Thanks!
It's a shame gamers these days will never appreciate what this game was...
A true work of art
But art can die sadly
A bit over dramatic but yeah gaming audiences can be a bit entitled. And inside is good

*I was looking through my Xbox achievements and saw that I only had 2 achievements for this game and it BAFFLED ME because I know I beat it in 2017. reinstalled it today and played it on my 32 inch HD flat and My God this game is amazing. the eerie vibe, the dynamic backgrounds, the sound effects, the music cues....even how obscure the achievements are....like you could literally play this game 1000 times and never find some of these achievements, they're SO hidden. idk man...heavy consideration in my top 10 GOAT list* 🕵
First viewer. Also very well made and great video as always. 👍
That is an interesting detail!
Amazing game.
🤣 Manoman, some of them jokes, sorry sory, j0kes (LOL🤣) that you made in your commentery were spot... sp0t 0n 🤣. Thanks mate!
Did you know that the puppet people actually have an official name? They’re known as “albinos”, I inferred this after looking at the soundtrack and noticing that the track that plays during the first mind control puzzle in titles “albinos”. Pretty interesting.
Plus, right at the beginning of Inside, if you look closely you can notice the little boy from Limbo hiding in the grass blades. A little cute tribute
I never noticed that! That’s cool. Thanks for watching!
What where? Timestamp?

I think it works well on it's own. Although I'd highly recommend Sommerville and COCOON if you like similarly vague weird games.
great video but the constrast of the footage is too high, sometimes the background is all black and i cant see anything
I’m aware. It’s pretty bad.

Edit:
Maybe I will find the videos. I will share the link with a later edit.

Interesting! Thanks for the constructive criticism! I agree for the most part that the video isn’t as in depth as it could be. But so much of this stuff is subjective, and even if it’s a shallow script it was my take on the game after playing it and that’s how it came out. Thank you for watching regardless!
5:07 - I'm dead 😂💀
