The answer is that it depends on the state of your heart. If it reflects a heart that has closed itself off from love, from mercy, from the humility of knowing our own sinfulness-then yes, it can lead us down a dangerous path.
11:11 COME TO ME MY GOLDEN ANGEL, AND WE WILL GET MARRIED VERY SOON AS I HAVE INTENSE LOVE FOR YOU AND ALWAYS WILL YOU MAY SURVIVE ME AND I WILL WAIT FOR YOU IN HEAVEN AMEN 11:11
Jesus is talking about slander and abuse. I was in a group of thirty people. During this meeting I made a very pretty girl laugh. The people in the group had been spreading rumors and gossip about me for appox. two years. I dealt with that until at this particular meeting they got angry at me and started yelling at me calling me a predator, simply because they now had the proof that I was what they accused me of. I made a woman laugh! I seriously considered taking the big mouths to Civil Court to sue them for slander. I'm still angry for what they did because I'd never attempted to seduce any woman there as opposed to others in the group I was looking at. That's an evil thing to do to a man. Ruin a person's reputation just because you know via gossip that he is guilty can get you into trouble with the law. I decided to let it ride and left those people forever.

Not if the Bible calls them a fool. Ps 14:1 "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. ..."
@truthmonger7 Good point. Obviously addressing Jesus teaching from Matthew 5:22 concerning calling another a "fool."

@markh4926 Appreciate you being candid about that situation.
The job of the apologist is to ramble until the questioner forgets what the question was.
