The Poacher's Knot & Scaffold Knot

The Poacher's Knot is a simple and strong loop that can be used as a hitch, or even as a snare in a survival scenario. It's essentially just a double overhand knot that encircles the line.
The Scaffold Knot is an even more secure variation of the Poacher's Knot which uses three wraps instead of two.

Very cool - there is a way of joining yarn in knitting that is often called the Magic Knot. It's basically a Single fisherman's knot pulled very tight with the tails trimmed close.

This knot looks like it would be handy to tie around the neck of the poachers prey and hang from their belt too - no more lost rabbits :)
