When I saw the Batmobile drawing on your desk, I was convinced you were building a Batmobile...which is what I am planning to do with a flying colors era Jet Threat I have.
That turned out fantastic Paul! That casting begs to be made into a fighter jet. 👍
I read the comments before writing this comment, and like the others I noticed the Batmobile patent drawings on the bench and thought you might be headed in that direction. Whatever direction you choose I'm delighted with to some degree in the end. You should race your military jet with Jim Silva's! I'd like to see that, and I wish MATTEL would issue both of your designs in a set. Ah, well. A 58 year old kid can dream. In regards to what you should do to the other one, at most I'd polish the paint replace the glass and call it good. Thanks for the fun! Have fun with your toys!!!

That is the coolest Jet Threat I've ever seen mushed nose and all. I wish some other builders would use Q-tips to suck up their panel line/wash, It gets a little thick! I think I would just clean the other Jet Treat and put it in display. Peace out! ✌

Wow Paul that looks terrific! I like the military jet look and dont worry about the front end. It would be cool to see a full resto with any color spectraflame paint on the other jet threat

If it's in decent shape, I would keep the original '71 paint, and give it new shoes and glass 😉 I believe your blue casting was a '73 shell promo version. Your custom version is very cool 👍 Although they are redlines, there is no reason you can't modify them, just like we did with our toys when we were kids! 😁

Great work on this one! :) With regard to the other one, while I tend to favour customs more than straight restos, a full straight restoration seems like it would be the nicest! :) It just has that classic "vibe" to it. :)
That came out so much better than i thought it would, as I’m not into the fantasy castings. If i saw one of those at a flea market it would be coming home with me! Do another fighter jet theme for the other one.
You know, I have others, and could in fact do one in a F-4 came pattern!

With the other casting Paul; you'll neeed to open it anyway to replace the glass etc, so I'd just go for a full-on resto while you're in there.👍👌😁

Actually on Jet Threat you don't the "glass" just pinches in and goes on from the top of the casting not the under side.
@@AlexBabcock-hw9iz Oh, didn't know that. Presumably, that's why both glasses are missing from these; easy to fit = easy to lose.😁
@@2H80vids Yeah you just pinch it between your fingers and out it comes and you know how we were as kids. Good news is they are reproduced like most other castings.

Take a long look at your antifreeze JetThreat and tell me Anton Furst was not influenced by this car when he designed Tim Burton's Batmobile in 1989. The more I look at my JetThreat...the more I want to paint it matte black....😳
