I will never forget tne 1st time I made bath bombs....omg, I had them exploding everywhere because of spritzing I poured the witch hazel! Lol, my grandsons loved the volcano effect though. 10 years later and it is the most comforting craft I do. It is relaxing to make them. So to all who have gone through a lot of recipes, never give up once you find the right way to do them, you will see how easy they are to make. Sarah you are a great inspiration and I love your videos! Thank you so much for all the info....
Thank you so much, Jody! Bath bombs are definitely relaxing and fun to make once you've got a few successes under your belt. My first bombs… err… "bombed" as well. Lol! :D ;) I had some awful-looking batches. So glad I stuck with it, though!
Do you have the issue of bath bombs cracking days after they are hardened? I'm thinking it's because it's summer and we have had some humid days. So maybe I shouldn't make them in summer time.
Hey Sarah! I ordered a sweet strawberry bath bomb and it survived even when the mail man shoved it into my apartment mailbox. Definitely hard enough to break a window lol!! Thank you so much for the fast shipping and the little sample of Happy! Both smell amazing and I can't wait to use them!
How long do you leave your bath bomb in the mold? I see you have a few molds in the other video and was wondering how long before you unmold. I only have one SS mold and 2 plastic ones. Just want to be sure not to unmold too soon. Also the molds from Amazon, I guess you would have to buy 2 sets in order for you to have 3 complete sets since they only come 3 to a set, am I making myself clear?
Hey Sara, The Wilton Gel colors... yeah there is such thing as to much.... I turned my youngest daughters hinny purple.. it was SO funny !!!! She still reminds me of it when I make bath bombs... Thanks for the link to the Ateco Sphere molds. I have been looking for these !!!
Thank you Sarah. I just bought a steel mold and need to give it a try! Yep I will message you !! Lol I gotta love the crate life of luxury started there.
Sarah I'm new at BB I would like to know what you think the advantages of using everclear are? I have a basic recipe with BS, CA, kaolin clay and having a difficult time getting them to harden up. I did add cocoa butter in the mix maybe I need to up the kaolin clay
It only works for bombs made for personal use. Bombs made for retail must be colored with either mica or batch certified colorants, approved by the FDA. :)
I wrap in a plastic bag with a twist tie and label, then wrap in bubble wrap and put them in the box. Great success with shipping them, just be sure to wrap in bubble wrap and remember to make your bombs hard so they're less likely to break. :)
I've never had an issue using food colours either, and I specifically make tub tints, so they're heavily coloured! No staining of tubs or kids, just a fun bath! Thanks for sharing!
Oh no! :( It definitely is a lot of trial and error. Bath bombs put me through my fair share of hair-pulling… but once you get it, you've GOT it. :D Keep trying and don't give up! :)

Another tip for moulds, you can cut a tennis ball in half and use that for a sphere shaped mould.
Great tips - thank you - I especially like the egg crate idea.

Polysorbate 80 will prevent the ring around the tub if you're using micas & lakes.
