Good choice on the body, it looks great matching the neck! Also nice to see you doing some carves in the body, looking really good so far looking forward to seeing the finished guitar
I like that guitar way more than any SG! neck matches body beautifully this is going to be sweet! also thank you so much again for featuring my channel, youre a true pal! cant wait to shake your hand one day!
Is one of the requirements of this Great Guitar B. doing videos of the build and posting them on UA-cam?? I really like your build. Really like all the imagination going into all these builds. What country are you in? Thanks.
That’s so kind, thanks means a lot coming from you Todd 👍 and for control cavities I like to keep as much wood in there as possible which is why I do them that way, feel free to borrow it! 😀
The change was a really good idea mate. I really like how you do your comfort carves and how symmetrical it all is. I don't like when people do an arm and belly carve but don't balance it on the lower part of the body. It is also great seeing another youtuber promoting another you tuber. specially one as cool and skilled as Brett. What ideas for a finish are you thinking about or is that giving away secrets?
Thanks for the kind comment Bill, I appreciate it! And for the feedback on the carves and wood. And I agree it’s great to try and help each other out, I’m hoping I can help out some more of my buddies as content starts to come out! 😉 As for the finish I’m thinking a high gloss clear will likely show off the Ash best and something satin on the neck probably.
@@TornelliGuitars Being an SG style build but with light wood and that gorgeous already pronounced grain pattern I will put in your head like maybe a subtle cherry stain without darkening the grain first. I do mean subtle like less then 50% mix of stain / dye to thinning medium. I used Keyda dye on mine at suggested ratio with a touch of black mixed in to get that color I did on the BRS. maybe do something like that at about 25 -35% It is water based and can be thinned after application too.
@@borgonianevolution I’m going to have another look at that BRS to see what you mean. I’m not against the idea of colour, but as you say, it will need to be subtle. I do have plenty of offcuts to test on, which is handy.
By the way I love the shape, it slightly reminds me of something Kiss shape, maybe it's got an iceman feel to the point at the back, but I think there is a Gene Simmons bass that it is vaguely reminiscent of. Great to see a new shape like this.
Nice ! From your descriptions and what i saw the guitar will be more a SG styled Tele than a reimagined SG. More like a Fender dreaming to be a SG... Some people wrote that the SG was an attempt by Gibson to imitate the Stratocaster ergonomy... So your concept seem natural. From F to G and back !
Thanks for the kind comment! I never realised the SG was made to make a guitar with ergonomics as good as a strat, that’s really interesting. Well hopefully I can do that!👍
I think the ash was a good call, it’s looks fantastic (and great that I can also look forward to the slightly different mahogany version). Really like the carves and I think it makes sense not mirroring them on the back. Great, helpful video too - I watched it twice!
The body is looking good! I really like the carving and the shape! I think that the ash was a good match for the neck too, given the light color of the neck! And now you have an excuse to build the other design right away!🤣
I love the control cavity that you did on this body. Stellar idea.
Thanks, I really appreciate it!👍
Looking good so far
Thanks bud!👍
The Ash body does look really nice. Good work on cutting it out shaping and carving it as well.
Thanks Robert! 👍
Very nice body design--stylish looking. I also like the symmetry of the grain pattern going up the center line.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a kind comment, I really appreciate it! 👍🙏
The carves on the body are lush... very cool
Thanks, I really appreciate the comment!👍
I like your attitude, instead of picking one, build two! That white wood though, amazing!
Haha thanks! 👍 and I’m really pleased with how the white ash turned out. Just need to decide on new neck woods for the next build!
Love the shape and carves. Looking great!
Thanks Arran!👍
Awesome. Made quick work of that body.
Thanks Scott, I don’t think this one will win any awards for build complexity! 😀
Good choice on the ash body, it looks great with the neck.
Thanks, I’m really happy with how this is looking so far!👍
Bravo! Good work and choices. Can't wait to see some stain? Or a finish on that wood.
Thanks! 👍 that’s a good question! I’m thinking gloss clear at the moment with (some kind of) pickguard.
Nice work, enjoy your content will stay tuned in for more
Thanks Jeff, it’s much appreciated!👍
Definitely the ash for sure
That's the body for that neck
Thanks Rab, as soon as I got the neck in place I loved the way it looked. Just need to figure out what to use for the next one!

Thanks for the kind comment Tom!👍
very well planned out. I really enjoy your presentation style. These two guitars will be awesome
Thanks again for the kind comment Jurgen!👍
Awesome idea for using the template to mirror the carve lines, think I might try that on a future build 😀
Thanks Curtis, I really appreciate it!👍
That's a very nice looking guitar body. Good choice!
Thanks Bart! 👍 how is yours coming along?
Great work Gio
Thanks Spike!👍

That is a lovely piece of Ash, and i do like tge carves youve done. Very nice mate

Thanks for the comment. Yes, part of GGBO is posting the videos on UA-cam. I’m in Italy.
@@TornelliGuitars Wow Italy. They used to have a couple large shops there. The old Vox guitars were Italian built.
@@ksharpe10 cool! I didn’t know that!
Man you're a great builder. I really love how you do the control cavity rout. I may have to borrow that! ✌️ & 💕

Looking good 🤩🤘 As an amateur builder I'm learning alot from you guys. The Ash body looks great! 🤩 I used Ash on my first guitar body

Haha thanks Lars! Yes now I get to build a second guitar!👍
This body looks more like a Gretsch Electromatic rather than SG but that doesn't matter) Good job tho)
