Goff, as of now, should be the leader for MVP. Started out rough first couple weeks, but he’s been unbelievable since then.
Im happy for Goff, I felt bad when he was drafted by the then St. Louis Rams, and he battled through that, and then he got traded to an underwhelming Lions team and made them spectacular

Ok, that's funny. But not untrue. Detroit has seemingly found a way to be fast and play in the dirt at the same time the last couple years.
The problem NFL defenses have against Detroit now is that Goff is now stone faced when facing the blitz. That was pretty much the only weapon NFL had. The only thing you can do now is play quarters, put 7 in the box, and pray the pass rush gets there before Goff finds an open receiver
Correct. Can't blitz him now. Plus he can always check down to either Gibbs, Montgomery or LaPorta.
The Lions are freaking loaded AND they're young. Heck Goff just turned 30. I don't think they have a single skill position player at that age.

Love isn’t a great QB. He’s blessed to be in a good system with a good coach, playmakers on offense and a bruising defense. Take that all away and Love in decent but middling or average.

Are you kidding? Mahomes has a decimated WR corps, shoddy protection at the tackle position, and every defense in the league building to stop him. And he keeps finding ways to deliver. They both need each other, just like Brady and Belichick needed each other.

As a Detroit Native and Lions Fan, I’m VERY HAPPY that we are a solid team now. I’m 32 years old and last year was the FIRST TIME I’ve ever seen the Lions win a single playoff game. If we win a Super Bowl, I think we should become AMERICA’S TEAM!

Colin is acting like Malhomes took a nobody and made them something, which to my point is not the case at all. Just to let people know that don't know.... Minnesota stadium is awesome BUT it hit about 120 decibels Sunday, they did have the big doors open so that might affect some noise level BUT Detroit hit 134 decibels last year in the Tampa Bay game at home. This is mostly for Colin that wants to hate on Detroit unless he absolutely can't. Detroit is for real, JG is Ford real & Ford field is for real!!

As a lions fan, i am a little worried about Seattle and Vikings. Still alot of football left to really see how far we go. Not to mention November and December is when teams start playing their hearts out.
Props need to go to the owner too. Sheila Ford Hamp is finally the owner who turned the entire franchise over to football men and supports them with the funds needed to build a real franchise.

Lions fan. Not sure why all the flowers for the offense tbh - stats were virtually even with Vikings. The main difference was Jefferson kept to 81 yds and 0/0 red zone. The Defense won that game - esp considering our pass rush looked bad - the offense did their job.

there was three teams that had a chance to three-peat this sports year: Aces, Chiefs, and Huskies. The Aces didn’t three peat, so I think that’ll mean both the Chiefs and Huskies won’t 3 peat either. just my prediction, i’ll see later if it becomes true

@@Kuhhmolly not to go after the vikings...but! the vikings scored 29 points, they led 10-0 after the first quarter and got another 6 points from their defense. that means the vikings offense was outscored 31 to 13 in the last three quarters. the vikings had 2 weeks to prepare, were at home with a ten nothing lead and the lions had lost their best player and still the lions won. the vikings are having a great season and i wouldn't be surprised if they played 2 more time this year, but you don't get respect for losing to the best teams, you get it by beating those teams.

Crazy every talking head is acting like Detroit blew the doors off of the Vikings. Look at the team stats for the game they are almost identical! It came down to a last second field goal. If Detroit is this great team then you gotta give the Vikings the same credit.
It wasn't a 'last second field goal'. If they had been 7 down, they wouldn't have taken so much time, gotten into the hurry up offense, and not taken the knee. Would have had plenty of time to push for a pass rush or two in order to get a touch down. It was a last second field goal because they only needed 2 points and wanted the Vikings not to have any time to recover from it.

The chiefs would be maybe a wild card team if their defense was average. Yes, mahomes is the best qb but he isn't carrying them. Andy Reid and their DC are the reason they will win a 3rd in a row, not cause mahomes is carrying them
The reason why their defense is so good and offense is bad is because of their drafting. In ‘22 and ‘23 they drafted 17 players and only 3 were skill position players (including Sky Moore who is the worse player on a roster). The other two are Rashee Rice and Pacheco who are both on IR. So it’s not surprising that they look like this now

Every team would at best be a wild card team if their top two WR and number one RB went down. The chiefs, defense is good, but let not get it twisted, if they didn’t have Mahomes after 3 of the top 5 offensive weapons went down, they wouldn’t even be a playoff team.

Shanahan’s flaw is he depends too much on CMC with play calling and play design making the niners offense too obvious and one dimensional. Problem is injuries is a norm in the nfl and when that player(cmc) is out the offense is not the same. He doesn’t adjust like he should. Why Andy Reid is level or two better coach and player caller than Shanahan.
Kc would get my respect if they didn’t get every close game call going their way. I’m not even a Niners fan, just being objective

What Mahomes does is he takes advantage in the loopholes in the regulations . He will wait as long as possible to slide because he knows defenders will hold up . He does the same appearing to be going out of balance and then turn up the field and grab another 10 yards . He is a stock broker with inside information. Brady did some of that and rules were changed to give Brady an advantage. Mahomes understands and nobody else seems to see what is on the plate . It must be very frustrating for defenders . They try to give a shove or a hit and they get a personal foul .

Purdy is on the same tier as Goff. Just drafted as Mr Irrelevant instead of being the first pick of the draft. Neither are Mahomes. Both can be really good with stacked teams. Purdy had a healthy stacked team last season but ran into the Chiefs in the SB. Goff has a younger stacked team.

The Vikings are legit, they came back from adversity they can swap hands, with the best of the conference are easily the #2 team, with flaws on the the corner back, and defensive interior, the Vikings were bad situationally and in the clutch(first time this year they have been ridicously clutch this year though), the vikes have a lot of imrpovements to make that are possible within the season and with the next 4 games being easy vikes realistically are 8-2/9-1 going into week 11
Fair. The game was a 5% game, one team playing just 5% better every couple plays ended up tilting the balance. There wasn't one big play the tipped the game one way or the other. Even the very last play could have sealed the game, had the other team not been 5% better on that play.

Honestly, the Bucs could easily be 5-1 right now and they’ve beat the Lions at their place. If they beat the Ravens tonight, they’re #1 in the NFC.
If they win, Bucs will be 5-2, while the Lions will be 5-1, so the Bucs will not be #1 in NFC
cowherd seems to forget he picked the Vikings to win. Sooner or later he will have to admit that Darnold is by far the worst QB in that division and that will be the difference at the end.
